So yeah I just looked through the EULA. There's nothing - literally nothing - that says you can't exchange in-game currency for in-game stuff. Trying to restrict that would be insane. The only thing I can think is that the GM just seriously misunderstood you and thought you were buying / selling / trading for real-world currency? idk. Even the very explicit list of Prohibited Activities says nothing about selling / trading houses for gil.

I'm so confused. If there's no gil exchanged how is that buying, selling, or trading? Where in the rules is it stated that this is a problem? And even if there -was- gil paid to relinquish the plot, it's in-game currency for an in-game service / feature / item. That'd be like saying you can't pay someone to craft something for you. How are they going to have something as limited / exclusive as housing and then say 'lol btw you can't buy, sell, or trade plots GOOD LUCK'? This makes no sense to me. -flips a table and walks off- EDIT - Yeah looking at the official forums I see literally nothing indicating that this is a violation, no forum CM has stepped into ANY of the threads of 'WTB House' and said 'btw this is a violation'. I'm gonna find the EULA and read it very carefully. Because this is what I do on my days off.

I am pretty sure all dark / evil / criminal characters have that aura like DRKs so we know who not to invite to the birthday party. Sarcasm aside, I've watched someone close to me try to play a villain and then get driven not only out of RP, but FFXIV in general because people treated him OOC like he was the butthole villain he was IC. Made me sad. I think it would be difficult to pull off at large because people like their characters being bad-asses that never get hurt or tricked or wronged, especially by other PCs. I personally like the "RENEGADE FOR LIFE" option, but I'm much more fond of playing characters that skirt neutrality as opposed to taking up a side.

It would go a long way to minimize the RNG factor of Shuffle. While I realize it's anecdotal, from talking to multiple AST players, there seems to be a really common issue of Shuffle pulling the same card. It wouldn't be an issue if it was on, say, a 30 second CD, but the CD is too long for you to be pulling the same damn card. That would make literally all the difference in the world.

I don't have an answer for you but...it's an intriguing idea. I would be interested in an answer also, if only for personal OOC knowledge. I imagine some people out there RP this sort of thing. Since I don't personally do much with Ishgard RP unfortunately I don't know any solid direction to point you in.

I would love an invite whenever you get a chance. It's very relevant to my interest.

Soooo, I've kinda been here a while. Been on Balmung a while. I've just never really reached out into the community because -man- anxiety is a thing. But! As I'm feeling particular brave of late, I'mma ride this wave until it inevitably peters out. So yes hello! --MMORPG background - A lot of WoW ( 10 years worth ) with occasional spits of SWtOR, RIFT, TERA, Ragnarok Online, TSW, GW and GW2, so on and so on. --RP experience - RP'd on WoW from...WotLK until my interest in that game faded in the wake of World of AFK-in-Garrison-craft. Though my RP experience goes way back to when Yahoo had things called Clubs. Late 90s / early 2000's. God dang I'm old. --Character ideas/info - Rosa's pretty set in stone as a character. Ala Mhigan who developed a like for fistfighting after growing up in Little Ala Mhigo, though she's more a protector than a brawler by nature. She's also learning aetherical healing. There's some more tidbits in her wiki but that's the very, very cliffnotes version. I am going to work on filling in those giant holes in her wiki today. --How did you learn about the coalition? - A smidgen of google-fu while waiting for ARR to release.
