  1. Hey there, folks! Just a simple post today- I'm searching for a decent, quality-over-quantity oriented MRP (18+, not ERP-focused) Free Company. If you are part of one such establishment, and find yourself in need of hired muscle with nary the hint of a moral compass, or a hired hand of more subtle means, I come free of OOC drama and can start immediately. I am adaptable, open-minded, and eager to work with interesting people and new ideas! Feel free to send me a PM, and we can get straight to details!
  2. Am I the only one who felt Kugane was... underwhelming? After visiting Rhalgr's Reach and East End, which were absolutely breathtaking, I couldn't help but feel that the far East (and the journey there, for that matter) felt a little lackluster in comparison. Part of it might be the lighting, which seems somewhat flat, and maybe the lack of a backdrop for contrast? It sort of reminds me of the Chocobo "Forest," aka an ugly stretch of grass with a few gnarled trees.
  3. Poke at some of the Crescent folks, They've been doing alt-Garlean RP nights with throw away characters for a bit now. PM incoming with a contact name. Not sure if Erah's reply covers this, but Aegir seems to be involved in some pretty extensive Garlean RP too. Might send a PM their way.
  4. Looking for a couple of hired muscles to lend a hand for a one-off scene, and maybe more if we "work" well together! Heavy/M-RP preferred, and will involve shaking down a certain goody-two shoes and likely some RNG-based combat. PM me if you think you might be interested, a-thanks for reading!
  5. I knew that guy was going place the moment he stood next to me. Grats, and thanks for the fun all!
  6. Eastern. 8PM pacific. We still burn the midnight oil, but if you turn up at 10PST you're going to miss majority of the fun. Mis, but thanks. Wouldn't miss it for the world.
  7. 10 PM PST? You guys are really burning the oil. Suits me though, hope to see you then, and thanks!
  8. Hey there. Returning players here, looking to sign up for tomorrow's weekly festivities. Is this still the place?
  9. At my current rate I probably won't reach HW content until, oh, 2021 or so. I would, however, be glad to make a contribution to the event! I'll be sure to add you the next time I'm on.
  10. I read your post like six times and all I can make out is "I'll be there next time, even if just to watch." WE'LL SEE YOU THERE! You'd better plan on it, bub!
  11. I had no idea this existed, but now that I do, I'm sorry I missed as much as I did. Kudos to you, organizers, and congratulations to the victor!
  12. I. Basic Info Tassin Duval That's all she wrote II. RP Style Generally Medium-Heavy MRP Mutually agreed upon RP combat and injuries awaited! IC Romance fine, ERP respectfully declined. Please also bear in mind, that I am not my character. All other RP welcome. Families ties and close connections currently improbable, but the possibility is always open for discussion. Emphasis of lore not important, so long as it is not deliberately contradicted. I am flexible on this. All of the chat functions are potential tools. As far as etiquette goes, in group RP I prefer to let everyone have a turn to respond to the driving event(s) before progressing the story. III. Other Info USA based UTC -7 [signal-Walrus] on Skype, [Technically Not] on Steam
  13. Yes please! Character Name: Tassin Esmè Duval Time-zone (OOC): UTC -7 Location Preference (IC): The market stalls of Ul'Dah. Barring that, the Coin and Coffin. Style (pick one): Mystery Spirit (pick one): Serious Tone (pick one): Dark Anything Specific you might want: How about... an unsolicited fortune-telling?
  14. That's one hell of a resume. While my character is also an Ishgardian and probably of the same age group, his disposition and background make the two unlikely to have met. Nonetheless, I like your style and hope to see you out and about Ul'dah. And be careful. I will try to approach you. :tonberry:
  15. Professional holdups for sale!* From roadside robberies and backstreet kidnappings, to the old-fashioned wagon heist or that small but riveting caravan raid you've always dreamed of. Flexible and willing to work with you to ensure that you and yours get exactly what you want from the service; freeform or roll-based, rough handling or scot-free, near miss or a narrow escape, one-time encounter or recurring conflict. The only condition: scenarios with a reasonable balance of risk for reward. To arrange an act of larceny** today, or for career opportunities as a partner in crime, PM Tassin Duval or reach me through Skype as "Signal-Walrus," no punctuation. * No actual payments necessary ** Felonies available upon request, at an additional imaginary fee

    Howdy

I may one day take you up on that offer. You have been warned. I shall read your wiki entries, with gusto, as soon as I finish this post. And yeah, the great thing about us "bad guys," is that we get to whip up interactions on a whim. Here's hoping I don't disappoint! Askier Sorry, the post system appears to have eaten your quote. I... I couldn't save it. But yes! I will keep you in mind if there's ever a dull moment, though if things go well, you might just hear a certain name in-game soon enough. ^.^ At any rate, thanks all, for the warm welcome. Hopefully you hear from me soon, and see ya in Eorzea!
  17. Lo there! As someone who has had a lot of trouble with the AAAAAH! hurdle myself, I think the best advice anyone can give you is to simply dive right in. Don't overthink it, don't dread the inevitable awkward interaction, and don't idealize the way it should be. Plot your in-character identity out to the smallest extent you're comfortable with, then improvise the rest. If you find yourself agonizing over every detail, improvise all of it! No matter where you end up, you'll always find folks there with you, wiling to take you in and meet you halfway. There are about as many stances on lore as there are styles of RP. No one will press you into lore heavy interactions, and the majority of people out there seem to be light to moderate themselves, just vaguely referencing places, cultures, etc. But seriously, why are you reading this instead of roleplaying right now? Go! GO! Shoo! :cactuar:

    Howdy

Howdy folks! Seems I missed the front desk and wandered right in, so I figured I should take the time to introduce myself proper. I'm a returning player from back in beginning of ol' 2014, and have been on hiatus since some minor health problems cropped up last fall. August, I think, was when I first took the plunge and gave MMO RP a try- and absolutely loved it and FF14's Balmung community, beyond compare. Having come from the rather bleak MUD community, particularly IRE games, I distinctly remember XIV as breath of fresh air. The fact that the sheer amount of players here alone beats out that of any old text-based game by the double digits aside, I was genuinely, thoroughly impressed with the quality of RP I witnessed as a bystander. I think the friend of mine who referred me to RPC put it best when she said something like, "The first 5 minutes of roleplay here have been better than anything I ever experienced in the MUDs I played for 5 years." It is that community I am enthusiastically looking forward to rejoining. My primary interests are med-heavy and MRP, especially that revolving around recurring interactions or arcs. Currently, I play a morally dubious, somewhat chaotic antagonist who loves to turn up unexpected and stick his nose into all sorts of places. My only set of conditions as a roleplayer are that I don't care for OOC drama, politics, or popularity contests. I generally prefer impromptu to script acting, but can do both. IC confrontation and conflict is something I thrive on, and I would much rather play out combat and scuffles with the /roll function, within reason and to the comfort of the other parties involved. Furthermore, I am very open to the possibility of the mutually satisfying death of my character(s), if and when a story reaches its appropriate climax. All in the name of good fun! -Tas
  19. Sure, and gladly! I'll add you the next time I'm in ^^
  20. Word of mouth travels faster than a bell 'round the Desert Jewel, from the ale-sopped tables of the Quicksand, through seedy alleys out tarnished gates, and to the battered doors of rural inns and rundown pubs near the edge of a faceless desert. Today's tide of rumors carries with it, amongst usual catch, a few modest mentions of a curious Elezen man, possessed of singular character and a disputable reputation. A dusty peddler near the stalls warns of one such personage, in the tale of a sly and persistent lad who carried himself with all the pomp and puff of a prince, but stalked the weary like a feral hound. Across the market, the Hyur merchant well-groomed and finely clothed in silk and satin, insists that he met a man who nearly fit the description, but that- appearances be damned- he was anything but a craven, and leant his aid readily, and with nary a demand! Others still, say that his eyes were cold and hard, like those of a road worn Hellsguard; a few more recall of him more jovial impressions. Then, as quickly as it came, the old gossip is swept away by a wave of new, and with it, all truth. :chocobo: Hello folks! Consider this my formal introduction to your wonderful community. While I've been around for a while on and off, I'm just now working my way onto these forums. The goal of this post is twofold. First, I would like to advertise the availability and services of my M/Heavy RP character, one Tassin Duval. As I prefer to hint as little as necessary to make an impression outside of natural interactions, I'll keep this brief: consider, a jack of all trades with an egregious penchant for latitude, and a discrete knack for doing what needs to be done, provided the price is right or the prize is good. Second, I want to express my interest in his meeting up with like-minded or similarly "employed" persons, clandestine or openly cutthroat, who might be persuaded to work together for greater gains and glory in return for a share of the risk! IC, these relationships could become formal or informal, but preferably regular associates (i.e., a band of brigands, highwaymen, and above all enterprising businessmen and women.) OOC, a simple association, linkshell, or even a brand new Free Company, if we liked. Feel free to PM or add and message me in-game, and we can mull over the details- or dive right in! Thank you for the time of day. I sincerely look forward to making your acquaintance in-game.
  21. Well, hello there, stranger. Saw your post, and decided to register myself. Looking forward to future interaction- if there's anything I can do to make the deal sweeter, just say so.
  22. I. Basic Info Primary character: Red Badger (?) Linkshells: N/A  II. RP Style Amount of RP (light, medium, heavy): Medium-heavy. Receptive toward the "slice of life" variety of RP, but more interested in ongoing relationships and plots in grittier a true-to-life vein. Views on RP combat and injuries: Both are fine, so long as they occur on fair terms (i.e., use of /random, emoting one's attack and allowing the defender to respond in kind, and an OOC understanding of how far each person is willing to go.). Character death is appealing. Views on IC romance: Open to IC romance; not interested in erotic scenes. Views on non-romantic RP (family ties, etc): Family/close ties welcome, but should be discussed OOC first. Open to surprise loose acquaintances/familiar faces on the fly Views on lore: Relatively strict lore adherent, barring mistakes and retconn. Views on chat functions (/say, /linkshell, etc): I prefer to roleplay in the present-tense and tend to take "turns," but can adapt if need be. III. Other Info Country: Oosa Timezone: UTC -7 Contact info: Cee Kay on Skype, Red Badger via in-game mail. [align=center][glow=blue]~Special announcements can be found in the posts below~[/glow][/align]
