balmung Returning to the game, looking for friends
Yandros replied to Yandros's topic in Chronicled Connections
Giving this thread a post-vacation bump. Back and ready to rp! -
Trust me, this shall change! *gives giant roe hugs*

I would utterly love to have my character in this! It would just be hilarious to incorporate IC'ly, and just watching the fallout from it. Leindra Keln is her name. Tall Hellsguard Roe gal. Dark skin, (usually dark hair), and violet eyes.

balmung Returning player needing RP partners.
Yandros replied to SanguineSins's topic in Chronicled Connections
Would be happy to rp sometime! I'm trying to get back into the swing of things myself, after having been gone for a few months, and I know how hard it can be. Feel free to look up Leindra Keln if you ever see me on, I am nearly always up for rp of some sort or another. -
balmung -found- Looking For CNJ Teacher
Yandros replied to Wobblegong's topic in Chronicled Connections
Hello there! I happen to have a roe lady who is a mender and healer, of the CNJ variety! I don't play her IC'ly as a White Mage, but she is a decently skilled conjurer. Being another roe, it might be interesting for the two of them to interact! Leindra Keln is her name, so feel free to look me up. -
balmung Returning to the game, looking for friends

Nebbs - Hopefully to stay? That does rather depend on the rp I find though. I didn't leave the game due to distaste with the game, but just other things. I haven't even made it to 60 yet, so not like any sort of "game content" is my big focus. I level when I want, and usually just end up wandering around in the search for rp. Steel - Thank you for the well wishes, and I am very much hoping the same! I'll definitely keep an eye out for you, so hopefully you don't mind random people whispering you in game. But both a foil or a friend sound good for my characters. -
Hello there! So, after playing the game for a bit around Heavensward, I ended up taking about a 2ish month break. Life happens, the game was more a burden than it was fun, etc etc. Just take your pick as to whatever reason. But in the end, I was not having fun and so I quit! Now fast forward to the present, and I have decided to re-join in the game. I have time on my account, and trying to figure out where I left off! Needless to say, this is a process always better done with friends. Preferably friends that wish to rp! And of course, friends that do not mind me asking the stray dumb question here and there. To describe myself as a rp'er, I am nearly always IC. I do not mind walk ups at all, and will happily rp with most everyone once. However, just going to be utterly blunt here. That second time, I am a bit more picky about. I enjoy well formed posts, proper (ish, we all make mistakes) grammar and capitalization. I tend to put out small paragraphs when in public or populated areas, while going for larger paragraphs when in more secluded areas. I try to be polite, is all. What am I looking for you might ask? Rather simple! Consistency. Overall, above all, that is what I want in my rp and my online friends. Not a one and done, but rp that lasts for a while. And not the sporadic "Let's rp the rare times I am on and free" either. But just another person that has time for another in their gaming times. I'm not asking for every night, no. But a couple times a week or so? And not even asking for a set schedule! But honestly, you know if you have a lot on your plate or not. I just ask for you to be honest with yourself about it, and in turn? Honest with me. Beyond that, stories are good! The type of stories that have you looking forward to them. The type of stories that take our characters on an adventure! Currently I am focusing upon two characters. The first is a roegadyn lady and a mender by trade. She has been through a lot, but has decided to just cast off all the crap that used to hold her back. Taking a more positive outlook on life, she is trying her best to just start over now. She's tall, fully female, and growing to be a bit boisterous. Still rather reserved in comparison to many Roe's, she is slowly coming out of her shell! The second is my little au ra lady. Talkative, prissy, and utterly fastidious. She is always to be found in the nicest of dresses or outfits, and does utterly hate being dirty. Oh does she hate it. Which is why she needs to be drug out into the world more! She is more than content to stay with her books and research, but alas. One must actually do things to earn money. Perhaps someone might know a few good ways for that? So yes, thank you for taking the time to read my advertisement! Please feel free to send a message here with any questions, comments or ideas that you may have. And best of luck in searching for your own rp.

Oh man, how could I forget Unknown Armies!! I love the game, and have actually gotten the chance to play it a couple of times. It is a wonderful setting, and really changed how I view games as a whole. Namely, the "broadly specific" concept that it does in regards to skills. But also the sanity system is has, where you can become hardened against some things.

Nice to see other table-topper's here! Maid RPG.... That is one that seems like fun, but DAAAAAMN there are some cringe-worthy and seriously creepy things in that book!! I mean, not speaking badly of the game as I have never played it myself. But I read through the book at my local game store (yay for my entire group running an hour late), and some parts were... Well, they definitely hit very high on the creepy/squick scale for me. Fantasy Flight games. I love them! I actually ran a game over the course of nearly a year, that took people from the slums of a Hive world to the higher echelons of the Inquisition. And the fun part of it was when we switched arcs? I would switch games. Such as, they hired a rogue trader crew to ferry the party to another world... So I had them roll up Rogue Trader characters to play the crew! Then later on when their original Dark Heresy characters had the clout to pull in favors? They got to play Deathwatch, to take part in an assault on a Chaos Cultist temple. It was grand fun. Ahh, the stories of games I have had. GURPS though, still takes the cake for me. In my every-other Sunday game, my group is realizing how screwed they are. They started off as nobles of various houses, but now have been blamed for the death of the King. The group managed to escape the city, but they now basically have only what they can carry. And now they must stay alive long enough to restore their good names, as well as their standing within their Houses. Good times.

So first and foremost, please forgive me if this has been posted before. I didn't see a thread in the first few pages, so I thought to start this one up. But! Do any people here take part in ye old table-top? What systems do you like? Tell us some good stories of your games! Myself, I have tried out so many systems that it isn't even funny anymore. But my personal favorites are either super-crunchy or super-light. It's strange, I either want to go as simulationist as I can, or as story-centric as possible. So with that said, some of my favorite games are: GURPS, Shadowrun, Cyberpunk 2020, Forthright (game a friend of mine is publishing, and quite rules-light), and World of Darkness. I use WoD as a blanket, since I like things about all the games. But can't say that any one game is my favorite. So what about you folks?

I tell you, Lei is going to drag Savo to the baths one day! But seriously, thank you for the vote of confidence!

Roleplayer Uncertainty/Insecurity Theater
Yandros replied to Warren Castille's topic in Character Workshop
The insecurity of wondering if your posts are even seen. No seriously, because that is the only reasonable explanation I have at this point. Toss out post after post, to try and get a little attention or a response...and get nothing. From whispering a person to offer rp, to whispering IC'ly, to making emotes, or saying hello... And getting utterly nothing in reply. -
Giving this thread a nudge.

I really think that would be up to the person creating the place or making the review really. And as for the idea, I was thinking this was the thread for it?

YES! I was able to get back in time to at least catch an hour or so of this. Cheers to you folks for hosting. -
Haha! Glad my post wasn't taken badly then. And I actually do chainmail, scale mail, and now just starting to get into working with leather. I'm actually in the process of designing a pattern for a FFXIV dice bag at the moment. Still working on it, as most of the designs for the game are complex. But I am thinking of doing a set of bags, one for each of the Job symbols. Anyways, here is a very minor example of things I do with said pliers. Much is work in progress, but gives an idea of it all. http://tinyurl.com/p2asujv

Pliers. ((Completely not the style of art you do, but hey! It is what I use, and I was feeling a little snarky today. Please forgive me...lol))
-
Not particularly. A collection of food locales that folks have used for stories and stuff could also provide options and flesh out the world a bit more. Obviously ones actually run by players and such would be great, but one that is basically just a headcanon'd up little hole in the wall could work just as well. Exactly! It can be anywhere really, so long as you write it from a character perspective. Just something to pass time, be helpful or a bit snarky.

Sooo....I had a rather horrible idea after going to a restaurant themed event tonight. Well, perhaps horrible, perhaps really good! What of a thread or board, for people to post reviews of the bars/taverns/restaurants they have visited? Critiques of the food, wait staff, venue, etc etc. Exactly like Yelp does for our world, what of one for FFXIV? What would your character say about places they have been?
-
1. Slepnir 2. The Red Baron 3-5....anything really, I am not too interested in minions. So I would much rather see them go to someone who would like them!
-
Blast....I already accepted the invitation! There goes the idea of playing you off of each other... 8-)
-
Hmm, interesting! I just happened across this, and would certainly like to get in touch with one of you folks. When is a good time to see some of you online?Alternately, please feel free to message Aori Daitu.
