  1. My other favorites Jack n the Box- from the comic Astro City Invincible The Confessor- Astro City
  2. Here is one of my all time favorites, especially now and in Reggie Hudlin's run uaZqh_rYeUw
  3. q8RuIXX4ntc Personally while I am no fan of XIII I love seeing other things like Magitek armor, and even the black screen that says "Defeat such and such" before a super hard boss fight (that you are more than likely going to get your ass kicked on, ever notice when you get the normal transition screens in a boss fight its much easier than what I like to call the black screen of death boss fights? Am I the only one who noticed this from the series?). I love the fan service!
  4. Not an FC but a Linkshell. I'm not even thinking about FC's yet, but there should be some sort of chat channel thing to connect everyone. Good PR and exposure will definitely help you folks out. Also soon as you guys can begin brainstorming, you should try to set up maybe 3-4 events minimum over a 2 week time or however long P4 is to ensure everyone knows you guys are there to stay. I just wanna see both servers be successful. As do I, as soon as the subforums are up I will be doing some major threads, and again if anybody wants to do an event well suggest something! I've also been working hard on other sites as well, letting them know about the new alternate server choice. I think its coming along well. Beta 4 will see a big push I'm sure from everyone and I'm sure nobody will be opposed to constant events. I am also going to make an attempt to call in some great roleplayers I know who might be interested in ARR. I might even hopefully be able to link up with some of my old Wyrmrest Accord buddies in WoW. Perhaps convincing them to try out Beta 4 will addict them enough to want to come here *evil grin*.

  6. Oh yeah! haha I didn't think about that, if recruitment for the two LS was done mostly through the OOC shell that would indeed open it up a lot for the other's name. (Not gunna lie I do like more in world names for anything, even just pve guilds and the like) *nods* Yeah I think by doing it that way you give a nice taste of both avenues, a more normal conventional sounding OOC name and a true roleplayer sounding IC name. I'd love to hear any suggestions for a IC Linkshell name.
  7. "When I first found the RPC, I was a novice RPer. This was the first game I RPd in, and is my home. I was welcomed here with open arms and I hope to extend that welcome to everyone else I encounter here, regardless of where they will be rolling. Everyone here deserves that courtesy, and everyone here needs to remember that they were new to a community once. Coming into a community where it seems that there is dissent is never fun for anyone...and often makes people scared to even say something. I think we all need to remember what it was like, and place that at the forefront of our posts before we make them. We want this place to be welcoming to others as much as it was to us." Couldn't have said it better myself *winks* You get more flies with honey than vinegar...
  8. I've found this site to be a great resource of course if anyone has something better please list it http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Roegadyn http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Roegadyn_Naming_Conventions
  9. Coalition RP or Coalition IC also works Any other suggestions? Of course I'm sure that upon once joining the OOC linkshell they will be directed to the IC Linkshell so maybe that name can be something more "IC" so to speak. Thoughts? Maybe the IC name can be something that reflects unity. Idk, anyway keep them coming! And lurkers I want your opinions too! Don't you stand there not saying anything! You and you too! *looks at you, yeah you* Ideas please!
  10. That is a very good initial start Rock, I might also suggest maybe an IC Linkshell for RP when not around physically. It can help for those that want a little rp fix while leveling. I think both ideas are good ones. Never a bad thing to have more options. As for names hmm. The break room? Lol I like both ideas myself, now what to name them, and can a person have two linkshells? I mean if one of you guys wants to start one of these go right ahead you know? You can have multiple Linkshells, like up to six maybe? Maybe more? I had one for my Guild and had one for another group I frequently partied with. They just act like chat channels, really. I'd wear my RPC Linkshell proud right next to my Free Companies Linkshell for sure. Cool cool, so, names of these IC and OOC linkshells? I believe a player can have: 5 Linkshells 1 Free Company Correct me if I'm wrong, just stating what I've heard. Ah hello! Got any ideas for an ic and ooc linkshells? And what do you think of the events that were discussed, any suggestions? *gets down on his knees wiping a tear from his eye* YES, thank you! I shall hope you bring along your crafting goodness!

  12. Thinking about putting together a server Linkshell for all the roleplayers, basically our own rp chat channel oocly. What do you all think of this and if you like the idea any suggestions for names of the linkshell would be appreciated!
  13. It would probably be a good idea to hold this after official launch, that way we get the most participants possible. And it would be a great way to promote Gilgamesh as one of the Non-Legacy RP servers. If you guys want to do an Open Beta (Beta 4), I suggest a crafting/shopping meet-and-greet oriented event to jumpstart the economy. I like this idea! Perhaps the Silver Anvil can help with this? Hint hint?
  14. I like it. Perhaps open it to all rpers guilded or not? Oh yea for every one i for there is some people out there that solo rp. If you like to do this for phase 4 then i would suggest waiting one week after phase 4. To give time for the new payers and beta testers time get their air pass. Since Ul 'Dah is like the place to be i think the event should be there. all so i will be there in the gilgamesh sever come phase 4. This? No I'd like to do this during the week of official launch. but we can do something during phase 4.
  15. I am humbly asking the mods to close this, but also to reconsider a front page post and perhaps even a sticky mentioning the choice of Gilgamesh as the choice for those wishing to start on a non legacy server and to kindly ask all to respect the wishes of all regardless of whatever server they wish the start on. I think official word on this will set things straight and prevent any misunderstandings, competitions, passive aggressiveness and the like. Thank you everyone and good luck on wherever you decide to lay your roleplaying head. For those who are going to Balmung I am looking to help Gilgamesh follow Balmung's example. That is my one and only goal, and the reason why I decided to switch from Balmung to Gilgamesh as my main rp server. I will continue to assist and help those who will be on Gilgamesh to lay a strong roleplaying foundation. Agree or disagree, I applaud everyone's support in an effort to grow and nurture the roleplaying community in FFXIV:ARR, and those who are wishing to help on a new server, well we surely need the help and would be glad to have you. Besides one catches more flies with honey than vinegar, I think its vital we all remember this. Thank you.
  16. Continue giving feedback ladies and gentlemen! Who thinks the idea mentioned would make a great launch event? If you have any other ideas to present please present them. Everyone who is starting on Gilgamesh is involved in this, lets hear your feedback!
  17. Alright first time out everyone as some assumptions are being made. This post was addressing the posts about the need to put reminders about Gilgamesh being the secondary/smaller/etc server on the Roleplaying on Gilgamesh thread. Since I've been here I've seen too many posts that in my opinion have come off with either a passive aggressive or condescending tone towards those that wish to rp on another server. I am respectfully asking that this stops overall. Especially in threads that are addressing those that will be roleplaying on Gilgamesh as their first server choice. I saw three posts that I felt were going in this direction. Before seeing anymore I decided to make this thread asking for respectful peaceful coexistence without the reminders that Balmung is the primary/more populated server on a thread that is directly addressing the community on Gilgamesh. Its not needed and honestly it comes off as a bit rude and yes passive aggressive, regardless of whether or not it is fact, or whether or not it is gift wrapped in "I really would love to rp with you guys". If the opposite were happening I would also make a comment asking those that are doing it to stop. I also received a PM asking me to reconsider my server choice, while I guess I should be flattered I'm not. I'm into helping the Gilgamesh community in the long haul. Peria, the addressing was to the new Gilgamesh server roieplayers as a whole, not any particular individuals. I am still getting to know everyone who will be roleplaying on Gilgamesh. I have not at one point said "Oh if you are playing on Balmung please don't post here". I have made the statement "Please wish us well and if you don't have anything nice to say please don't say anything at all". This was in reaction to two other posts and a seemingly constant reminder of the server having a smaller pool of roleplayers - even if that is the case, is it something at this point that needs to be constantly said?. Everyone who voted and is playing on Gilgamesh is aware of this, and they have made their choice. Positive posts that help are always welcome no matter who they are coming from and where you are playing. Moody I asked for the mods assistance in keeping things civil and respectful. Not for a public hearing, but more in a "guys lets be respectful of each other" manner - that's it. I hope this clears anything up and I go back to asking that we all be civil with each other and respect each others posts and choices and keep things to a positive vibe.
  18. All I can say is that for those considering Gilgamesh we definitely need more to help with building the roleplay foundation of the community. It won't be easy, we are considered to be the secondary server choice but I think it can be done and we can really watch the server grow and turn into something great. Proactivity will be the name of the day for Gilgamesh, and we would love to have anyone who is interested in helping the server grow really help provide a solid foundation!
  19. Hmmm.....you know I really like Vaschies idea. What do you all think of the launch event being a meet and greet, but also a feast or festival? I was thinking of doing something like this. Perhaps a feast or festival basically celebrating those who survived the Calamity, being thankful that we have and celebrating lost ones that were lost because of the incident. I think it would also set down a sense of family for the server and perhaps even could be turned into a server holiday or something? Maybe even some sort of giveaway of low level items for newbies as contributing to the welfare of refugees who lost their homes during the Calamity as well. It gives a good reason to practice your crafting during Phase 4 and really helps the crafters be a part of driving the roleplay on the server. Perhaps since we are the -secondary- server we can use this to our advantage and really give the server a small town "everybody knows everbody family kind of feel". Very intimate. Let me know what you guys who are playing on Gilgamesh think about this.
  20. A subforum is coming soon. Regardless we wouldn't want such posts in the threads on the subforum. Besides, when I make these threads I am and will be very specific who I am talking to.
  21. Which ever way you decide to go I will be happy, if you decide to make an alt on Gilgamesh come on over and enjoy spending time with us!
  22. Heat if you wish to discuss any ideas you have please feel free to do so! PM me anytime you wish.
  23. With the recent winning of Gilgamesh as the non legacy rp server, myself and I am sure many others will be making threads to help and assist the community there. I humbly ask those who do not wish to roleplay on Gilgamesh to do one thing Respect the Gilgamesh oriented threads Is all I ask. We KNOW Balmung is the primary server at this point in time for the roleplayers. We do not need constant reminders of this in threads primarily addressed to the Gilgamesh community. I am asking to either wish us well or as the old saying goes "If you have nothing nice to say, please say nothing at all". I am asking nicely to not have to deal with passive aggressive comments on Gilgamesh being the smaller community or Balmung having more roleplayers and the like. I am happy that there is a Balmung and I am happy that there is a Gilgamesh too. I will never say anything that prevents anyone from going to our big/brother sister server. People should choose the place they want to play. We KNOW this is a Balmung centric site. We don't need to be reminded of this in Gilgamesh oriented threads. The fact that the voting results not being posted as an article on the front page says enough. So again all I ask is that we all respect each others choices. This is NOT a competition. More options means more places to roleplay for everybody and I personally think that is a good thing. People also transfer servers all the time. Those who start off on Gilgamesh may decide to transfer to Balmung at one point, and that's fine by me and the same thing may happen in reverse. People should be where they are happy. Can we not respect each others choices? After all are we not all roleplayers at the end of the day enjoying the same game? Can't we all be positive and be happy for each other? And please no pms asking me to reconsider. I am playing on Gilgamesh, I want to help build up the community there with whoever is interested. I want to have a great place for roleplayers to go if they wish to go there. Just as great as Balmung. Whatever happened to The Golden Rule? Treat others as you would treat yourself? Believe me you do more to attract roleplayers by being a positive influence instead of by making passive aggressive comments to shame them into coming to where you want them to. We are all adults here, lets act like it. I also ask the mods here for some assistance in this matter. *Extends an olive branch in respect and peaceful coexistence*
