  1. I hope we get a darker look for monks not a fan of the yellow armor at all nor the feather in my cap headpiece.
  2. Highlander, why because the leader of the Immortal Flames is said to have dreadlocks in his description. Though I did fall in love with Lalafell and I usually am not always into short races other than dwarves, which I admire more than I actually play as. So yes I have a Lalafell and he is going to be a sarcastic funny twit. His name is Asambe Kyambe. Some on here have already seen him and his pic is up on the show off your characters thread.
  3. Altaholic here. When I ran a guild in GW2 I played an entire family including supporting characters. I did this mainly to entertain my members and to provide story to the house itself. As far as active playing characters I usually handle 2-3 well.
  4. Very interested in joining, spoke to blackdrakon about it.
  5. ASj81daun5Q LGiNEaNxOxo Best adventure music ever and this would most certainly be the theme music of Amaare Margolis: Treasure Hunter Extraordinaire!
  6. This is perfect, I read the information its exactly what i'm looking for!
  7. I'm looking for a group that's more gritty. Not evil per se but definitely not able to get over the events that led into the Calamity, and a group that is serious what it does, so I would say a group of vigilantes more than anything. Perhaps a situation no different to how people started to sign up for the military after 911. I'll say this I do appreciate the conversation this started. I honestly wondered why there weren't any indicators of characters who were just pissed the hell off because of what happens so I'm glad there I'm not the only one expressing interest in this. Last I will go into the -why- of this character both IC and OOC For most the situation is that they lost family, friends, loved ones, etc in the Calamity. I'm sure many are still reeling from their losses (though the game doesn't seem that way but who knows perhaps it will be introduced in the later levels of story). For Reese he lost the most important person of all, himself. Due to the attack he was comatose for a very long period of time. He also awoke with amnesia-(A typical FF affliction, yes I did this on purpose for this exact reason). So for him he is dead and might as well be physically, he awoke to a world he does not remember, people he doesn't remember and worst of all a woman he does not remember. His presence around her not remembering anything about her (I leave this open for a possible ic storyline set up between me and someone I meet in the game) only drew her to more sadness and despair so he just left, because he felt like to her he was just some horrible reminder, a ghost of the past unable to give her back the man she knew. He had been wandering for some time until the present day that the game starts. He is pissed, maybe not outright all the time (try as he might Reese is a good guy and a big teddybear at heart) but he will do everything in his power to prevent the Calamity from happening again. Now my OOC reason I wanted to make a character that had a storyline explaining why he didn't know anyone from 1.0. I wanted to say that he was around but can't remember any of it due to myself not playing 1.0. Now because I was going onto a server with an established community already I wanted to have an ic reason on why he may have known some of the old community already. To establish a situation where people may have recognized him as an old friend who doesn't remember them at all and barely remembers himself. Giving a reason for him to have "legacy friends" who knew him during 1.0 with a viable story opening on how and why. Why? Well to try a fresh approach to becoming part of the old community while also of course still meeting the new community at the same time, who is getting to know the character for the first time. A character who is getting to know himself. Will this work out? Who knows, I don't plan everything. Will he turn out to be a suicidal revenge driven warrior who ends up throwing himself at Bahamut if it ever reappears? Or will he be willing to live out a different kind of life and have a renewed interest casting aside his feelings of anger while realizing that while he may not remember anything he is not dead. Well that depends on his interactions with the community. Again I leave these thngs open and let the character build himself after I put in the opening summary. I look forward to it. The story of this character allows plenty of room to be written along with you guys as I just want to entertain everyone and provide a great story for the world. Thanks for the responses so far I'm once again happy to have sparked this type of conversation.
  8. If there is already one out there please contact me. Contact me if there is one being made. I'm very, very interested in this.
  9. I want to be able to name my Coeurl. (sp?) His name shall be Bloodmist The Chocobo? Hmm....perhaps I shall name him "Food for Bloodmist"
  10. I'll answer the ones I am able 3. There will be combinations, FF games tend to be super flashy with the particles so it depends on personal tastes. Personally I love them but you may not as much. There is a way to reduce the effects in your options menu. 4. Beautiful locales, lots of hideaway places like inns in remote places. Also there are crafting classes ala SWG which are classes that are strictly about gathering or crafting. Respectfully they are called Disciples of the Hand (crafters) and Disciples of the Land (gatherers). Want to play Joe the blacksmith, well now you can literally. Want to play Sifa the cook? Yep that too. Or Ed the carpenter? Yep. Even better they will have roles in helping those who have houses (building roves, arranging flowerbeds, building furniture). Better yet if you have a house you can deem it -public- and run it as your very own shop and have your retainer help run it. Housing areas are supposedly open, they are set up like neighborhoods with three different locations one in each city. There are three different housing sizes including one large enough to hold Free Companies (think of these as guilds with objectives.) Free Companies can ally themselves with the Grand Companies of the game (NPC superguilds one in each city with their own respective stories) Free Companies also can formally ally with each other. One last thing, you can even raise Chocobo's. 5. There is a dye system. You get a dye quest at level 15. 7. The day and night cycle lasts two hours. There will be things that only happen at night as well as nighttime only monsters. There is dynamic weather, it rains even in the actual cities. Rain affects the Fishing class (yes there is a fishing class- Disciple of the Land). 8. Main storyline quest is voiced 9. One character can be every class and job. The switches are literally just switching weapons/armor in the armory system. Each class and job has specific weapons and armor it uses. I suggest reading all you can on the official game website. I also suggest watching all the subbed versions of the "Letter from the Producer" videos on Youtube. There are seven of them and a lot is shown and spoken about and they are quite detailed. You'd also be surprised how much the lead producer Yoshi P talks about roleplaying in these videos.
  11. http://na.beta.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/
  12. *Grins and nods* Already there *wink* Looks like monks/pugilists are going to be the evasion tanks this time around. Though I wish Ninja's were in there.
  13. I'd love to see them myself along with Ninja, Geomancer, Thief and Blue Mage. I know I prefer hybrid classes myself as I like to do a little of everything, and I would love to see a fast dps sword class that uses the thinner blades.
  14. I personally love the idea. I see you mentioned being new to rp and that's fine everyone has to start somewhere. Get some good experienced rpers around you to drive your events (and to push rp because the crafting classes should be the initiators of great rp on the servers imo) and you should be fine.
  15. Ah well then, guess I'll be sticking to Gilgamesh for now. With the way things are going it looks like Gilgamesh might be the pick for non legacy rp server at launch if nothing is said by SE eh?
  16. *waves* Good seeing you miss.
  17. Hehe looks like both husband and wife are here.
  18. Moogle will have a small rp community and its EU
  19. Personally I like the effect for new players who didn't play 1.0 My character Reese is suffering from amnesia due to the Calamity, he doesn't remember anyone at all (since I didn't play 1.0). He did not time jump and was simply not around during the first fight that the Warriors of Light participated in, his time is now (he was too busy saving people, getting them out of harm's way). So this story was a great thing for me personally and the amnesia/foggy memory is such a Squaresoft trope I sometimes wonder if they invented it, lol.
  20. "A true hero enters early, as to stop blood shed" I just felt like saying that.. lol! I always did have mixed feelings about my quote. There's a lack of heroes in my experience of RPing! But yes, let's meet up sometime in the future, if all things go well! The character isn't exactly the same. Name is universal, but the character is usually different in several aspects. The biggest similarity? Still a good guy. Glad to know he's still the asian Captain America there is anther hint hehe
  21. Carrying Ryuki over from GW2 eh?
  22. My main for launch, Reese Robinson
  23. Rock Sandbourne - Gilgamesh currently running around Ul'dah as a Pugilist
