Laike

"Catfish!" The mans head pokes from the surface of the water as he looks back, "Always a catfish... You can tell. 'Specially when you're..." He falls under the waves, cutting off his words. Popping up again he continues, "Usin' large bait..." He falls under again, staying under. 10 seconds... 20.... 30... SPLASH! His hand is hooked in the jaw of a nice-sized catfish as he fights to avoid it's pounding tail, "Whoooie!" Slow step by slow step he drags it to the shallows. Looking towards the pair, he holds up the catch, "See there? Ya'll did a fine job."

Relatively new to Balmung as well. I love to tell large stories and explore lore. Always have an idea, even if it's just a one off scene for the night. Feel free to hit me up!

I am kinda of different than a lot of people when it comes to romance. Basically... I love story. I love new things I love... Just really cool stories. In the context of relationships, I rarely.. rarely rp just romance. I don't go to a bar, and find a girl and woo her and bring her on dates... things like that. Nothing wrong with that, just not my style. I'm more likely to RP running into a girl while some hired goon of someone I offended is chasing me in the street... Asking her to cover for me. Dragging her into the story from place and place to hide.... Then slowly they sort of like each other. Then maybe... they try to kiss. But oh no! He is planning to flee the city and can't get involved so he runs off... Woe! Doesn't need to be sad.. I just.... I'm more a sucker for really cool plot development, so romance is something that another rper needs to commit to with me. He's not going to love you in a day, or two... or three. And if you don't like going on adventures... End up hanging from a tree trying to grab fruit for some hair-brained scheme while a Coeurl snarls below... chances are you'll never be in a relationship with my characters! A lot of times, if romance is a path. I'll kind of act as friends.. and inject romatic moments into the scene few and far between. Outrunning some angry boar only to trip down a cliff... Laike reaches over and plucks a flower, handing it to the scraped and bruised woman, "You look beautiful today, you know that right?" I guess what I'm saying is... I don't really enjoy straight contentment in Romance. If there is no underlying plot. No cool stories, no reason for these two people to be hooked by fate whether it happy or tragic.. I really don't seek it. TLDR: Fun first, and if the romance comes.. cool!

Many have names (IE FFXIII's world is named Gran Pulse, FFXII and many of the Tactics games happen in Ivalice) The easiest way to think of it is the multiverse theory. Especially with games like Dissidia it just seems to make the most sense. Separate worlds connected by common themes.

Laike sputters and glances around, blinking. Seems his morning fishing trip has gone awry, or has it? The fish.... Laike the fish... Powder Blue eyes scan the water. Bronze Lake Cat.... Probably around 35 pounds. Big one. Good one... Hit hard, good fight.. hmmm.... He flits those eyes behind him noticing Miryn, when she holds out a hand he nods gratefully, "Good idea." He reaches out, taking her hand. However, instead of pulling towards her, he places his fishing rod in her grip, "Now, hold tight. Very tight. Tighter. Always tighter..." Nodding towards Reina he gives the most puckish of smiles, "Hey there, ah...." He rushes towards her, but instead of clambering up, he grabs a nice size rock from the bank, right next to her foot, "Stick around, right?!" He peers towards the rippling water... "I'm gonna go get this fish. He's a fighter...." Like a set of compressed springs, his legs release, pushing him into a dive, rock in one hand and moxey in his heart. Hopefully Miryn's leg holds out... Because this fish is fightin!

The lake rippled idly as the lure fell into the shallow-depths of the Lake. Laike leaned back, the sky reflected in his powder blue eyes as he watches the wispy little clouds float by. All was well in the world, and nothing... SPLASH! It all happened at once. His eyes flicked towards the fallen woman just as a large fish hit his line, "Shit!" His hand stretched in one direction, held in place by the fighting fish as the rest of his body tried to tug down the bank towards the woman who might be in distress. "Shit shit shit...." And then the second woman appeared. Manners, right, "Oh! Hey.. pleased to...." But that final tug was one too many. His arms rolled back to try balance himself but he began to fall, fall fall... Reaching towards the woman still on the bank, he made one last attempt to grab her but came up short. Into the water he goes. And that fish? It was still fighting! ((Sorry, was out of the house all weekend!))

I'm a pretty experienced rper. But extremely laid back. I do my best to rp with people new to it because I'm not going to worry if everything isn't perfect! So feel free to rp with me, I can only show you what I do. But if it helps you get an idea of your own character and methods then yay!

Well, here's hoping you checked it out now! I was actually pining for the idea that any Garlemald-themed expansion would be heavily inspired by FFVI, given the theme that now plays on the magitek mount. THEY FIXED IT??! (I haven't logged into my level 50 character since I came back. Started a new one)

When I mounted the Magitek armor for the first time and Terra's theme didn't start playing. I think I almost cried. Most disappointing moment of my life.

((Nothing special, just Laike waking up early to get some fishing in on Bronze Lake. Anyone is welcome to join in for any reason! Let's see where it goes.)) It's was that calming sort of dawn just outside of Camp Bronze Lake. The atramentous blanket of night was falling away, giving rise to a smattering of azure blue and coquelicot red as the sun peeked over the horizon. The ritualistic crowd of bathers hadn't yet picked up. This left the ruins, for the moment, feeling... ruinous. The broken walls and crumbling stones cast long shadows across the lake, undulating and dancing with the ripples of lively fish hunting for their morning meal. It was here that a strapping young Hyur appeared. An old mahogany stick of a rod slung over his shoulder as he sang idly to himself with the slight twang of a country accent; "Gon' bait my hook..." "Gon' cast me a line..." "From dawn till dusk..." "Gon' watch that twine..." "And when it jumps..." "And when it fights..." "Gon' catch me a fish..." "Gon' be just fine..." Finding a patch of matted grass on the bank, Laike lowered himself before reaching for his hook and deftly attaching the bait. Looking towards the sun-streaked sky, he muttered a light, private prayer before casting his line...

Oh man, a host club. Do you have the country bumpkin type. totally need to have a scene where Laike has no idea what he's getting in to....

Hey now, you can't crush Laike's hopes and dreams!! That's my job....

There is a chance Laike could. But he would definitely be more anger-driven/righteous ends justifies the means vigilante type. Basically "Justice has failed this world, so I will become Justice" Type of Dark Knight. Not at all calm, collected style. Not sure if it would fit in that respect! But we can definitely RP. Even if it fails, it's still rp right?

Kind of a different PUG qualm last night. I am low level, going through low level dungeons. Sometimes, DPS in level 60 gear get in and start pulling quickly, killing things. Generally wrecking the place. Soooo many times the heals FREAK OUT. And tell him to let tank pull. And I get it, in a realistic world, that's right. But he's in 60 gear.. wrecking a low level dungeon. He's probably been thrown here because of roulette. and honestly probably ran this dungeon hundreds of times. It's not a big deal. I, as the tank couldn't care less because I know it will go fast. If we were in /any/ danger of actually dying? Sure.. let me pull. But if we are wrecking face in the first dungeon? Just let it go. It's not that big of a deal.
