Generally the best approach from time spent in the field. For sure a fan of the double identity, though I decided in the end to keep things light with Lren. I do think I may participate in the turning of the name plates off, though if things got crowded... I dunno if I'd be able to make out who was saying what! Short of targeting, anyways. (People would likely watching my characters head spin as I would do that !)

With all the training Lren would have been doing in the past five years in and around the Shroud, it's liable the two of them may have bumped into one another or even sparred, if she was perhaps training in the open! Lren Rendarren: Ever the one to test his own strength against others, he'd likely be seen training the Shroud and hanging about the Lancer's guild in more recent years. The occasional conversation with himself would also be something that would be apparent, if one saw him enough! Though generally quiet, he would generally praise those who demonstrated prowess in combat, regardless of which personality was speaking.

Eternal Challenger [Back Story of sorts. OOC Welcomed]
Lren replied to Lren's topic in Town Square (IC)
The dull roar of the waterfall caused the Elezen to smile some, though this one would be more sincere and genuine. A small pack lay slung over his back as he would continue to walk to his destination, his mind finally starting to calm down after the rush of memories came back. 'We should find something more entertaining.' His other self pushed itself inside of his thoughts now, eyes closing as he'd mutter his response. "I've a mind to try a few new techniques that I've been watching the other Lancer's perform. We cannot fall behind in our training, less we give our enemies an advantage." 'Tch, our hands are all we need to make any enemy drown in a sea of their own blood. You're wasting our time.' "This will be a way for us to loosen the restraint. Our survival will be absolute or do you think I am misjudging this? We are one in the same, you should see the logic behind it." Silence followed before Lren simply shook his head, hands moving up to adjust his glasses as one boot would splash into the crystal clear water below. The Mercenary let a smirk spread across his lips as he neared his destination. It would feel good to prove to himself that adapting to other forms of combat would be beneficial. -
A/N: The Bold is there to help represent my characters mental defect, to be read in a slightly more deeper and condescending voice. 'How long has it been since that horrific battle? That fateful day where so many of my comrades were cut down by those damned Garleans, where the true horrors of war were displayed for all to see. I was naive to think all forms of combat could be seen as pure and honorable, a mistake I'll not make twice. I should mention the time I was held captive too, I suppose. Investigating a rumor of Garlean spys in The Black Shroud, which as I would find out, turned out to be rather true. I was taken by surprise as I found an arrow lodged into my upper thigh, which given my height, knocked me down quite fast. The faces of my attackers were to be forever burned into my mind, for it was during my time spent there as a prisoner that I gave into my blood lust. Where I felt parts of my inner self come to the forefront, manifesting into their own personalities and traits while still being me. I'm still unsure of all of it as I write this down. I needed to survive, to live on for the ones that were lost, my hatred and rage gave me strength and helped me cope with the actions I was to perform the following week. The cries of the men I mutilated the day rescue came still echo throughout my dreams, yet it always brings a smile to my lips. Justice was served with each punch and kick I brought down onto their bodies, blows still raining down despite their lifelessness. Perhaps it was a special way for me to prove that this madness was not such a bad thing. Things like honor and grace had no more meaning, it was better to just... Let loose.' Lren stared down at the tattered journal, reading over his words as a small off setting smile crept across his lips. "My bloods already boiling... Suppose It's time to give this a small rest and get back to training." The Elezen muttered softly as stood, grabbing at the spectacles that lay folded next to the journal. "The rage issue needs a bit more polishing it seems. Looks like another pleasant trip to the Falls, huh?" -------------------------- Part 1 End -------------------------- A small backstory I've finally decided to sit down and write, sorta started out as something else before it turned into him writing in a journal . Only partially proof read so there are bound to be mistakes here and there. Just feels nice to get the rust off, so to speak.

Lren originally took up Weaving to help steady his hands. It turned into something he now does to help fix his Gi's and makes some different blanket designs

Whelp, this is going in the 'light-hearted brawl' list. Since my characters generally run the motto 'Let your fists do the talking.', this fits OH SO WELL. hKBSZaa8fY8

Exactly it! xDD Wonderfully said. : P

Thanks! Funny enough I use that same method you mentioned too sometimes. Only downside to that one, I think, is it's a little easy to potentially fall back into 'familiar' character personas (I know I have 2 or 3) to fill in the gaps as well. But, when it works it works really well! Yeah, that is very true. Just one of those things you have to keep in the back of your mind.
-
This is a VERY good way to start things off, one that I tend to go along with too! Sometimes it helps to have a character in mind too, then to hop into a small RP session with them. Get a live feel for them, so to speak. Makes it easier to decide if you like them, then you can continue progression from there.

It's wishful thinking, sadly. You can occasionally 'leverage' code that has been written before, so long as credit is given and such. But when money gets involved, things are generally re-done as to make full profit and avoid all the plagiarism mess. That's not even mention what transferring a line of code from one language to another... That's a whole other mess! XDD Hehe, I'm no game programmer, though I've dabbled a little, but I do know 3D animation, and even in that industry skeletons (rigs) from one project to the next can be vastly different. You would think since they are all human it would be pretty standardized, and while there are some standard rigs, everyone has their own ways of doing things and each project has its own requirements. I've seen some packages that come with a standard human rig. Would be nice to see more of that but then again, it can look different depending on what environment it's running in !
-
Could be the difference in engines or perhaps even programming language that is used when creating the game. Thinking it is the different 'skeleton's' used to animate, which you'd have to do for all the skeleton's in the game. It's not so much a programming thing, as it is an animation one. Anyways, on topic! Love seeing that this is being done! EDIT: DAMMIT, AVERIS! BEAT ME TO IT!

If I have the time and barring nothing comes up IRL, Lren could help with security! Sounds like it will be a lot of fun regardless. :3

The art of Distraction: Keeping yourself busy till phase 4
Lren replied to Felix Sideris's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Fighting games and life are keeping me busy, for the most part . Tales of Xillia and Dragon's Crown will certainly help ease the wait though. Should also mention programming too, since I need to learn a few things before the new semester starts! ;; -
SCIENCE FOR EVERYONE! Did my part :3

Ahh, love this thing! A buddy from the college I go to got his hands on one of these things... Can't wait for the new semester to start so we can start programming stuff for it. For sure, a great piece of tech!

This has definitely been a lot of fun thinking about ! You might know Lren Rendarren from... - The various mercenary's travelling Eorzea. Lren would often mingle with said groups to seek faster employment. - Could often been seen spectating and joining in for sparring at the Pugilist's Guild in Uldah. - Rumors floating about of a wandering Pugilist that travels between the three cities, challenging the wilds. In more recent days from: - The Lancer's Guild in Gridania, where he could often be seen training with spear, at all hours of the day. - Perhaps heard a man as he walked by, seemingly holding a conversation with himself. Things are subject to change, though they will be minor. :3

What games are you playing/looking forward to?
Lren replied to Orlog's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Been playing Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition(AS ALWAYS), recently downloaded SF:Third Strike and Capcom vs SNK 2 to help scratch that 2D Fighter itch. Also slowly making my way through SMTIV. Waiting for Tales of Xillia, Dragons Crown and ARR, of course. :3 -
Think everything nice has already been said. It's still just pleasant to be around like-minded and friendly individuals, a nice breath of fresh air to come to after a long and tiring day.

Most likely leveling with a group of IRL friends, managed to convince them to come to Balmung too. Get a good chunk of the story up and out of the way so I can open up everything. Excited despite having done this five times now XDD

Follow me to Soliloquy where entertainment is always free~[open to ALL]

The man would continue to tap at his forehead, thoughts continuing to swirl around in his head before his eyes would eventually move to the other miqo'te and the hyur. An amused smirk spread across his lips, watching the two as he would continue talking to himself. "Seems like we aren't the only crazy ones, huh?" He murmured softly, hand digging into his pocket as he'd place a few gil on the table. He would glance at the other individuals once more, eyes narrowing as they'd stop on the hooded man. Relaxing his features as a sigh escaped through his nose, the man would simply shake his head. "Best be on my way before tables begin flyin' about." The man would tease as he would stand, offering a small stretch before a hand moved up to remove his glasses. He folded them up before opening his vest, placing them inside of a pouch cut on the inside. "Think I may just relax here a tad more often though... I don't care what you think. You're too paranoid... We'll be safe." He'd mutter, glancing over his shoulder for a moment as if talking to someone that was possibly behind him... But there would be nothing. With that, the man would simply walk out, boots making little sound as he would slink back outside. (( Gonna pop back in when I have a bit more time. Busy the next few days! ;; )) -

He peered at the hyur, mustering up a small smile as he offered a simple wave of a hand. "My thanks, Girly." He'd respond softly, wrapping a gloved hand around the glass as his eyes would move to the menu for a small moment. His free hand would idly run along the small scar on his left cheek, a common habit when the man would enter thought. The other scar on his face ran from just above his right eyebrow down to the cheek on the same side, contorting slightly as the man smirked. "Aye, the water will do for now, Abai." The man would say, eyes turning to the woman before bringing the glass to his lips, letting the water quench the seemingly endless thirst. "Tavern Soliloquy, hm? So that's the name..." He'd mutter quietly as he moved the glass away, finger moving up to tap lightly at his forehead as he would peer at the menu once more. "Think you can commit that to memory?" He murmured to himself, shrugging his shoulders some before his eyes would turn to the other patrons then back the glass. -

A Miqo'te would slowly open the doors to the Tavern, ears slightly perking up through the holes in the blue bandanna on his head. The dirt stains hidden on his dark tanktop, thanks to the white vest he wore over it. There would be scuff marks on his arms, small cuts leading all the down to those fingerless gloves, where those calloused hands would find their way into his pockets as he took a small step forward. Those light blue eyes moved from patron to patron, hiding from behind a pair of glasses as he placed one boot in front of the other, taking a seat at one of the tables near the bar. He'd remain quiet, letting the sweat from his brow slide down his face as the man was just thankful to be out of the weather that bothered him so. ((It's been a good while since I've done forum RP, so I need to get the gears turning again !)) -
Too bad my Keeper views the tribes as being an outdated system >>;; Going as far as to ditch any tie he has with them, only keeping the first name his father gave him. Would be interesting to see if someone gets one running, for sure. Would love to just place him nearby and watch as he begins to feel uncomfortable
