  1. Forget real world elections, let's look into FFXIV voter fraud.
  2. The really important question: who the hell do I have to bribe for more unisex styles?:frustrated: And I mean like transferring some more existing male styles over to be female options. I've wanted that slicked back Elezen look forever.
  3. The fro looks really bad with those built in sideburns.
  4. It really isn't. ._. It's a huuuuuuge distinction. White Magic is forbidden and hard to access. Conjury is so easy to pick up that almost anyone can do so, unless they're completely unable to interact with magic (like a native Garlean, for instance). Oof, my mistake, was still thinking in blanket Final Fantasy terms.
  5. Nested quotes are kind of a pain so I'll just agree with the above. There's quite a lot to the Miqo'te beyond just their breeding habits. The tribes of the Seekers are pretty neat, and the Keepers focus on hunting that has NPCs seen roaming across Gridania is also interesting. There's no need to accuse people of being anime addled cat people fans, there's a lot to like. The polyamory angle can be difficult to play for a variety of reasons, up to an including an OOC distaste for it. There's nothing wrong with not wanting to pursue multiple partners in RP if it makes you uncomfortable purely because the lore demands it.
  6. I can't blame you for wanting to test the waters.
  7. Two Miqo'te falling in love and deciding to become monogamous, or one Miqo'te deciding they have a one true love and damn the consequences, is hardly comparable to "we're actually Titan and Shiva and we're married" in terms of lore fuckery. Dang, y'all, please chill.:moogle:
  8. Well, Cure's not White Magic anyway. It's Conjury! Your character's viewpoint is amusing when juxtaposed with my own character's viewpoint - she sees things like "surgery" (or whatever crazy way it's spelled in the game) as barbaric. Why would you cut someone when you can mend what's wrong without effectively stabbing them? Perhaps the two will meet one day. Potato, popoto. I look forward to that happening, too.
  9. With Garalona, her background is that she was a traditional chirugeon first and then moved on to studying conjuring after she got out of prison for forging her medical credentials (whoops). The way she figured it, once you get the elements to listen to you; there's no worry of little details like licenses and actually having attended college. Even so, magic isn't her first art, and she prefers not to use it unless someone is actively in danger of dying. At an event like the Grindstone she'd probably just usual traditional methods to patch someone up and then slap them with a touch of Regeneration so they're at full strength by the time the next bout is up. To her, magical healing is a lot of effort and energy, and besides that Elementals freak her out. ALL magic does, actually, white magic just happens to be "safest" in her books, comparatively speaking. She'll gladly do an old fashioned surgery, getting herself covered in blood and taking twice as long, just so it means she doesn't have to deal with all that. I personally really like coming up with characters who have different views on healing and how easy it is/how often it should be done. If someone were to ask her why she can't just cast Cure over them and call it a day, she'd kick them in the shins, tell them to remember that ache, and walk away. She's already done it once before.
  10. I'm not sure if the bolded is supposed to mean during in-character interaction or out-of-character criticism of the character itself but either way I would suggest taking some time to have that not be a thing, or else you're gonna have a bad time. Both people and their characters can be ruthless at times, and almost everyone can agree that a degree of separation is required to really keep your RP enjoyable and drama-free for everyone. Wise, words these. In any case, I look forward to seeing you around in game!
  11. Hello and welcome! Hope to see you around in game! And good luck in the game making biz! That's something I'm working towards myself!
  12. Gara? Total smoking in the girls room rebel, though she'd spend a lot of time hiding and reading books... No one must know! And at the end of the semester she's among the top ranked (but not THE top) and anyone who breathes a word about it gets punched. Ah, the double life~ But then, she never had a formal education, but if she had it probably would've been like that. Instead she had a lot of tutors of the years, and when she was between them she bought or outright stole texts.
  13. I really like the angle that she doesn't even remember it herself, playing out the shock and having to cope when she does could be really fun!
  14. I approve of this "can do" attitude. Good luck to you sir! Agreed! Good on ya! I know there are RPers on Excalibur, they're just really scattered. Somebody could certainly stand to unite them. Go for it!
  15. I love concepts like this because they remind me of Carrot from the Discworld series, i.e. a human raised by dwarves.
  16. Character Name: Garalona Swarbrydawyn Character Type: Curmudgeonly Healer. A White Mage who only uses magic when people are actively getting hit in the face, and mundane medicine the rest of the time. Daughter of Black Bride, a now deceased Dread Pirate notorious for practicing dark and forbidden arts. Garalona advertises herself as a catch-all healer for hire: midwife, surgeon, the list goes on. Her bedside demeanor may be lacking, but if it involves screaming and bleeding, she can probably do something to fix it. Availability Day(s) of the Week: Saturday, Sunday Time(s) of the Day: Between 10am and 10pm EST I may be on more, but I I work Mon-Fri 9-5 and have and have an assortment of health problems, so it's dicey if I'll feel up for playing at all when I get home. Weekends I'm generally off and on at all hours. Frequent Locations: Limsa Lominsa, The Mist, Ul'dah, Manderville Gold Saucer, but her work can potentially lead anywhere, and afterwards she always heads for the closest place to drink.
  17. Hello and welcome! I saw Princess Zelda in the Quicksand once. It's an interesting place, you'll see all kinds of people there. Her player search info said she had fallen through a portal from Hyrule. But there's plenty of lore abiding citizens to be found all over the place, don't worry. Speaking of which, search info is how roleplayers of all stripes identify each other. You can put the type of RP you're looking for, a link to your bio, all that. It really helps break the ice. Have fun!
  18. Please also add me to the list: Garalona Swarbrydawyn
  19. It's really a testament to how great the game's character creation options are that if you fiddle with it long enough you can come up with a look that appeals to you at least a little bit in some way. My only complaint behind that is to have 12 voice options for every race, a lot of them are very samey, and the "female voice actor awkwardly pitching her voice down" option describes like 4 of the fem Roes at least. The male voices, meanwhile are probably some of the best of any race.
  20. Hi, yes, hello. I play Roe. My only character is Roe. I used to play Elezen but Heavensward, the focus on noble houses, and the migration of WoW players* because of it encouraged me to switch from always sidelining my Roe to just going for broke and forcing myself to fight the stigma. *Many, many bad experiences and now I just can't play elves or nobles again. They're ruined for me. Long, sordid story. Why do I play Roe? I like that they're one of the few female races with a body slider when most of the others are resigned to being waifish, which is a hell of a thing for a final fantasy game to allow. Also I get to be 8 feet tall and (mostly) everyone gets neck strain looking at me.8-)
