  1. As far as I know, no one has really transferred from Balmung to another server or have plans to do so. We did lose a small amount of Free Company members in my group when subscriptions started, which was expected.
  2. I do love a good conman/woman . If you are ever looking for some RP send me a tell. I am usually either RPing or just hanging around town crafting ^^.
  3. :3!!...dont tempt Denn like that Sio! There will be so many crotch punches! The population of Eorzea will plummet as all the males of the current generation lose their ability to reproduce.
  4. Hahahahaha, GW2 did have a ton of "nobles". There was someone I knew on there that joked out saying that there was not enough land to give to all of them so they all had to settle on their own square cubic foot of family land.
  5. Whenever you are on Ethne, give me a shout. I think it would be interesting interacting with her . I have an alt that is in need of a few interesting companions. Plus that whole Echo thing would be something I would like to explore more ^^.
  6. I'll be damned. Didn't know Sindl had it in him. Congratulations to him!! I wish I would have been able to show up. Sadly Denn's big mouth got the best of her and she already got into some tussles before hand ; ;
  7. Oh, hahaha. I mean I didn't know how they were handled in game. I know Seohyun was playing a noble. I may have to hunt her down in game and ask her questions as I don't think she visits the forums very often. Edit: Speaking of Seohyun. I was able to scour this up. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/printthread.php?tid=2368&page=2
  8. I didnt hear anything about a gunsword, but I do recall the outfits. That would be interesting though .
  9. Pokey, poke, poke. Are you on Balmung ? Yeah, I was also unsure of how to approach this. I made an alt and she is basically a lady in her late forties who came from a rich merchant family, but they have fallen from grace. I didn't want to play an actual noble character because I am unsure how they are handled. I am pretty sure I heard some mentions of them, something, something, about the Sultana in Ul'dah. I could be completely off though.
  10. That's actually not true. At the bottom of the MRD Guild in Limsa, there are 2 Yellow Jackets practicing their aim with pistols. So, I suppose there are one or two models. Ooooh, I'll be damned. I did not know that .
  11. So far the only people who seem to have access to guns are the Garlean captains, and Merylwyb is the only person not a Garlean who has a gun.
  12. I normally play evil aligned characters, but I do like the good ones sometimes. My only problem with some people who play good guys is because they seem to usually think that because they are the "good guys" that it means that they always win and that always upsets me. I normally play villains because I enjoy good conflict. I just hate when conflict is broken down because your good guy is super beautiful and strong and cannot be defeated because the power of light is more stronger than the power of evil.
  13. I also think it would be kind of interesting for a Battle Royale type of thing..or at least I think that is what it is called. Four people step in the ring, one steps out! I am not sure how viable this would be though due to chat log issues. It might be a little difficult keeping up with three people who may or may not all be attacking you at once. Maybe it could work out as things are typed in say, that the group is also in a party chat and they either repost it in there to minimize the chances of it being missed or just type a very summed up version of what happened. [Ex: /s Romy spins his body in a clockwise motion, dodging the blow, and using his new found momentum to try to deliver a backhanded blow to Lydia's right temple. /p Romy is trying to back hand Lydia's face!] Or something like that. Also rolling for initiative at the beginning would help so that no one is posting over each other.
  14. Yes, yes, yes, for blood matches! Edit: How about team battles or free companies vs free companies.
  15. Thank you for the information. She has a really nice style and its kind of exactly what I was looking for.
  16. I think you could do it. If I am relating this right, aether is kind of like the life force of everything; people, plants, animals, the planet. She could probably "see" the aether of the things around her, kind of creating a fuzzy outline of things, but as you said, in cities full of people and places like a dense forest, she might have trouble getting around as everything starts to blend together into one big blur. I think this is an interesting concept and I hope you find a way to pull it off ^^.
  17. Ah! That is who it was! I couldn't remember who did it, but now its all coming back to me ^^. Yeah, not staying in jail is something I can relate to. It would stink not being able to RP with your character for a few days. It is an interesting topic as I wouldn't know how to get around to it. Maybe some kind of bail posted...but then that could lead to some people constantly committing crimes and then slapping down an infinite supply of invisible gil to stay out of gil. I don't think characters would be willing to pay real gil (but this could be given back to the community in form of bounties). I don't know, just tossing ideas around :3. I remember someone wanted to play a lawyer character. I read it a few months before launch. I hope you are reading this Roegadyn guy I can't remember the name of!
  18. I really wanted to just gauge the interest of the community on the idea of a police/military themed linkshell/free company that would post bounties and bring criminals in. I know there are a decent amount of people in the game that are playing unsavory characters, but I feel like there is no real consequence for their actions. Is there lore to support anything like different divisions of the GC (or I think it is the GC that have been acting as the police of the individual city/states)? Or would it be easier just to have people acting as vigilantes and bringing criminals to justice? I would think that because of the whole Garlean threat, the primals, and the beastmen, not to mention the refugee's flooding into Ul'dah, that they would appreciate some help with policing the streets and trying to keep things under control. I know that there are always concerns about people ignoring authority type characters so I was wondering how people felt about the idea in general and also, if anyone would like to join such a linkshell/company.
  19. Merlwyb actually carries about a pistol, so I am sure that the Empire would have something similar at their disposal. I did check for everything under the sun, but now I want to change my answer . Didnt realize we were talking about sniper rifles and such. I think they would have access to pistols and probably some form of rifle, something like a musket (musketeer ), but nothing advanced like an SMG and such.
  20. ((Good luck! It might be kind of difficult to find RPers on Ultros. Server transfers are very soon (and may have ever just started) and are free for the first five days. If RPing is something you really want to get into in this game you might want to take a look at Balmung or Gilgamesh ^^
  21. I am always up for villainy ^^. Edit: I just messaged you with three of my characters which I think can all help fulfill your needs ^^
  22. Lol. I just found some RP, but still lol. I almost wished I would have headed there first like I intended
