This is exciting. I planned to wait on the bridge for you all today anyway so this works out perfect :3

Whoa, Torn Sky, your picture got all sorts of majestic...I like it. And Sio..just keep it as a boob You'll get more members that way!

Is there a benefit to spirit bind? I think the idea is to keep items in circulation by crafters. If you buy a weapon and you cannot sell it or trade it, the only thing to do is turn it into a materia or NPC, so that makes sure that there is a constant need for crafters to continue to craft that weapon/armor/etc. If you literally have no spirit binding on it (you haven't killed not even one enemy with it) then check your inventory and make sure that the item/s in question are not untradable items..such as dungeon gear.

Is Gilgamesh more active than Balmung RP wise?
LandStander replied to Reibees's topic in RP Discussion
That is weird. I stumble into RP all the time in Balmung. I see a lot in outposts around Gridania and quite a lot around the Adventurers guild in Ul'dah. During the first two weeks there was almost no RP because people were so concentrated on logging on so they could play the game, but it's been fine ever since the servers were fixed. I know two spots that are almost always teeming with activity is Bronze Lake (that hot springs place) and that Float place in Grid..follguard float or whatever its called. They have nice bar there and I usually see people in there RPing. -
This is an interesting little thread. My character tends to flirt around a lot, usually for reasons outside of finding love, as that is not really something she is interested in, but I noticed she tends to steer towards Hyur and Miqo'te even though she is a Roegadyn. I was just thinking the other day that I should expand her horizons and maybe try to nag another Roegadyn or something or how would she react if a Lalafell hit on her. For some reason it's a bit difficult for me to see a Lala as a romantic partner with a Roegadyn, but maybe they could be like the Sultana and her personal elevator, hahahaha. I think my OOC bias does kick in when it comes to things like this as those are the two races I find most appealing. Elezen men are just so lanky and I don't think they have very man good face options, but the women look nice ^^.

I would love to meet more people who are into the..shaddier things in life . I haven't run into enough ruffians and hooligans yet. Plus how cool would it be to have a gang of Roegadyn going around causing trouble. I mean, who could stop us or even dare stand up to us >=D!?

*Ahem* That is why you have a friends list ^^. I run Ifrit all the time with people in my LS'! It's the only thing that breaks me from my crafting addiction. Most of my crafting classes are now higher than my battle classes ; ;. And DPS queues are always going to be the longest with any game.

'3' ~♪ http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Miqo'te/Naming Ooooh that makes a lot of sense. Lots of Miqo'te's who are....on the prowl then ~.^

For the most part that has been what I've concluded from in game evidence and seen a few other threads say. The other side I have seen people saying the opposite because of the different openings that 1.0 legacy players get of just appearing and walking into your starting zone as opposed to 2.0 players getting carted in on the chocobo cart and giving the set up that the 2.0 carters are just adventurers from somewhere else just traveling to that zone at the time while the legacy intro seems to indicate the character finally reappearing from the time warp spell cast by Louisoix on those at Carteneau. That seems to be the main point of I contention have found in regards to this. It's not just the opening, this is coming from someone who has both a 1.0 and 2.0 character, some of the dialogue is different. Cid actually remembers your character if you played in 1.0, but most of the dialogue is the same. You can RP a character that was at the battle if you want to even if you never played 1.0 as I always felt like the main story and RP story doesn't have to line or nor should it. You wouldn't want ten thousand people claiming that they killed the main Garlean baddie in 1.0. So storyline and mechanic wise the only difference is a few bits of dialogue and a neat tattoo, other than that they are pretty much the same exact story.

So I typed in your last name to try to send you a friend request and apparently Nunh is a very popular last name . Seems like you belong to large litter :3

Log in during really off peak hours. I have had character creation open up to me and my FC mates during the times of 2am-6am pst.

Not sure if he'll get along with my loud foul mouthed Roegadyn, but I'll message you the next time I log in ^^.

Hahaha, yeah. I was worried about it becoming too complicated. I think archers would be fine. I mean, if they ever got in close, then archers would have to find a way to block or attack with their bow/feet/hands/head/whatever. And for the archers opponent I think it would go simply with dodging, blocking, deflecting arrows. Maybe even putting a cap on how many arrows the archer could carry on them might help even it out? It will probably take some kind of trial and error to see what works and what doesn't. Maybe even for large events it can become more complicated with a GM measuring HP bars until there is a knock out or something. I'm just throwing stuff out there because I am a bit excited. I play a bit of a rowdy character who likes bar brawls, but haven't been able to really RP any brawls out because you know..people lol.

The "Puncher of Faces" would like to get in on this madness. Though Sio may not want it to start into a business..I am secretly hoping that if there is enough membership that bets can be taken and it can become an arena thing of sort. "So I hear Rugged Bear was bested last night by a little Lallafell. Lost all my gil on that night." Would be interesting if certain people were recognized in RP (perhaps even becoming feared or poked fun at) due to people knowing them from the arena. On another thing, since racial traits were brought up in an earlier thread, will racial traits be applied here? It might become too complicated, but say a veteren Lallafell, since described as being very agile, could be allowed to do one extra dodge/attack roll per round. I never really played D&D and don't know how fights are really handled. In my RP fights we usually just came to an agreement after a few blows were exchanged about what would happen. The only thing that sucks with that is running into the occasional person who didn't want their character to get hurt because they were a super badass assassin who always won. I think Limsa or Ul'dah works out perfectly fine. I'm sure pirates love to throw down and Ul'dah already has an establishment that promotes arena style combat.

To explain it easier, archer is a low level class, and bard is the advanced level class. Also bard is probably the second most powerful DPS. It was a support class in 1.0, but now it is mainly a DPS class. It's kind of like in FF3, you have the Evoker class, but later on you get the Summoner class which is a stronger version of it. You are just getting a stronger version of archer.

No information has come out yet about when they will allow character transfers.

Can Someone be a Self-Serving White Mage?
LandStander replied to Cota Orben's topic in RP Discussion
Log in between like 2-6am pst in Balmung, character creation is open during the ass crack of dawn. I just made a character this morning. -
Despite the Ixali and rain ruining Denn's fancy outfit, I had a lot of fun. Thanks for throwing it !

There was a nice little gathering at Bronze Lake last week. But as of now there are not many hot spots due to the server being kinda crappy and not letting people log in. Hopefully if this whole thing today goes off without a hitch (I am sure they will fix these 3102 error things pretty quickly) then we should all be back to RPing by Friday

Noooo! You allowed the darkness to engulf your heart! I've had a bit of trouble logging in, but it has not been horrible as I just avoid peak hours. Log in before 10am pst or after 6pm pst. Because you are literally not getting in anytime during those hours. Usually it takes me 10mins to get in, on the weekends it took me 20-30mins to get in. I work and go to school during the peak hours and on my days off I just run errands during those hours as well. It's bad, but there are definitely ways to work around it, well if you live on the west coast as I am sure the hours are much more complicated on the east. I think I felt them literally open up the servers at 6:50pm pst yesterday. I logged in at that time, and then immediately saw four people from my FC log in, back to back, and then 3 or 4 people from the OOC RP Dungeon LS I am in all said they just got in as well. So I would probably jot down that time and see how that works out with your schedule. Since official launch after they fixed the 90k errors and such I have only lost connection once the entire time. And I have been squeezing about 4hours of play time in a day. I just hope they offer free character transfers for a limited time as to get people from the current servers to move over to the new servers.

Buy a Vita and play it on there ! The PSP version has cutscenes and voice acting oooooooooh. I honestly always felt that Tactics Ogre was a way better game than FFT. I am not saying I didn't really enjoy FFT though, because I did. I just think it had a superior battle system and story.

Main Storyline: A Matter of Taste, or RP Etiquette?
LandStander replied to Gone4everbye's topic in RP Discussion
A good rule of thumb is to very rarely if ever include the main storyline into your character. There were a few characters in GW2 who said they killed the dragon, but the NPCs around town indicate that the dragon was alive and well as did many characters. This just creates a headache environment as people try to find a reason for their characters to stand out of the crowd. In regards to FFXIV, I am okay with people fighting the Primals. During the storyline, the cs when you are listening to the GC's giving their speech, Raubahn or the children, I forget, say that the Immortal Flames have gone out many times and defeated Ifrit, but their resources and numbers will just continue to decrease. They also state that the summoning of the Primals is happening at a much faster rate. If a character wants to say he was in a party that quelled one of the primals, I will play along with it, but they better have a damn good battle story to tell me . As long as they are not saying that they killed or defeated a major plot character, such as the main Garlean baddie from 1.0 or saying they are a part of the Scion (which is an extremely small organization). -
Physical advantages of the races of Eorzia
LandStander replied to Khaze'to Zhwan's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Hahahaha, do it! Yeah, I thought about going Lala as well, but then realized they were just too damn adorable and I couldn't RP something so cute. I wanted to make an alt as one, and basically rip off of Shantotto's character because I love her, but I couldn't get the right look for her ; ;.
