I personally probably will not be updating anything until the first expansion. I do play a lot of Garlean characters and this topic kind of strikes home. If during a plot someone references it I might just roll with it. I just find that updating the story will basically cut out any RP that you can do with those two dungeons and anyone who wanted to add that bit to their RP. So I an with Raindrops on this one and just going to jump around if needed, and do my best to never bring it up in the first place to avoid conflict. As far as the whole astral and umbral era thing...

I am very new to RPing myself and have less than a year experience under my belt so I know how nerve racking it can be diving in it, but it gives games soooo much more depth. I remember when I first started I had the hardest time not saying peoples names (because they were right over their head!) when they did not introduce themselves yet .

Glad you all are putting this together again. I had a lot of fun the first time around. I may pop up again this time as well ^^.

I think that kid from the conjury storyline might be a bit of a rarity, but its not unheard of to be born with a natural gift ^^. I don't think much has been stated about ages except that Elezen have slightly extended life spans, but they never say how long or which race they are comparing them to.. The way I always put it is that someone who is say 19 or 20, probably doesn't have very much experience in combat (unless their childhood warrants it) and would get bested most of time by say a war veteran in their 40's. Plus I think it takes away from the fun of playing a younger character if they enter the world and already know how to summon of beasties and killed 1000 soldiers. I personally like giving my characters a bit of skill and then growing them IC in the game. Provides much more fun RP in my opinion ^^

Hello! Welcome! If you ever want to RP or need someone for plots I am always up to lend a helping hand.

If I'm remembering correctly, the bidding will work in reverse. It'll start off at a high price and then gradually get lower until someone's willing to pay that price. Which does mean we may need to be willing to pay the higher prices to get everyone into the same neighbourhood, but at the same time it means that people can't troll/interfere by artificially raising prices. The only thing they could do is pay a premium to get their FC house into an area where they probably don't actually want it to be, and I don't think even the most dedicated trolls are that dedicated. Ah! Thank you! I had forgotten about that. I think they said the price would fall every 8 hours or something, right?

I suppose everyone will be doing some forum RP ! Time for the Garleans to get busy :3

Hey, I'll jab you in game soon. My FC and I were setting up a second Bahamut Coil group so if room allows we might be able to squeeze you in ^^.

Maybe his worshipers were some now extinct race? Maybe it was the ancient Elezen , seeing as they occupied the Shroud for as long as history dates back. They call in an Elder Primal, the same as Bahamut. I have not seen lore yet that states who summoned Bahamut yet. It does state that the dragons worship him, so that is probably the biggest clue we have, but these two seemed to have been around for so long that no one knows anymore.

But kids mess around and do all sorts of weird stuff. I don't think we can base that assumption on because some kids tried it. I once told my cousin that the "String People" lived under the oven and they required offerings of Doritos or else they would come out at night and trash the kitchen. When their parents found a ton of ants in the house the gig was up >.> I don't know much of the lore behind Odin, but I don't think he is a primal. I think Odin falls into the same category as Behemoth, Tonberry King and (from the looks of it) Siren.

Wonderful thread idea. I was just speaking with my company leader about hoping that the RP guilds would band together and we could get as many neighbors as possible. I was a bit worried that people would RP more in their free company area housing and not out in the world, but this would solve all of my fears.
