Raubahn is a member of the Syndicate. If I remember correctly, the Syndicate was against the idea of the Sultana raising the Immortal Flames, because it would give her more power. So she kind of has an army at her back now so I don't think one will happen, but who knows! I like the idea either way. I was personally hoping that someone was trying to get together some freedom fighters in this post because I have been thinking of making a freedom fighter character based out of Ul'dah. My personal opinion is that if a civil war would happen in Ul'dah, it would be between the haves and have nots. Ul'dah is one of the only city-states that literally has an area devoted as the slums, along with the massive pour of poor refugee's to the area. The Sultana seems to be sympathetic to their plight, but she simply does not have the resources to maintain the problem due to the war and the primal threat. It's only a matter of time before things get out of control :cactuar:

Ozma watched her carefully as she poured the tea, as if she was studying how well she was doing. She then jumped up into a seat and interlocked her hands together, placing them on her lap in front of her. "Let's get down to business, shall we? I see that you are interested in books and the sea, but what exactly can you do for me...besides pour tea?" She smirked at Shizu as her eyes narrowed in on her as she prepared herself for the negotiations. "You see, I am no ordinary Lalafell. I'm currently researching the ultimate spell. Cooking and cleaning is nice, but those two skills alone will not suffice. If I had to take a guess, with all the staves I have seen it must mean that some sort of magic skill you possess. Am I correct?" She stuck one hand in her coat pocket, while the other grabbed the cup of tea. Her hand twitched for a second as the cup froze very slightly, but quickly thawed, bringing the liquid inside slightly above room temperature. Removing her hand from her pocket, she took a sip and returned her eyes back to Shizu.

She nodded to the woman before crossing her arms across her chest and walking into the Miqo'te's home. "Yes, please fetch me some tea. It will be a good start to see if we will enjoy each other's company." The professor started wandering around the living area of the house, examining the Miqo'tes belongings as she tried to get a feel for the things she was interested in. She then picked up a nearby book and began looking through the pages, not lifting her head to speak to her host. "If I come up with a nickname for you, you only have yourself to blame. I have introduced myself, but I still do not know your name."

So you finally got it all up and running. They grow up so fast

Glad you decided to join! I'm always looking for RP, so feel free to give me a poke anytime ^^. I'm real easy on lore as well, so I don't mind if you are not up to date with it.

As the door open the woman smiled at the Miqo'te who stood before her before taking her glasses out of her pocket, and placing them on to get a better look at her. With a friendly wave she greeted her, "hello", but that is where the friendliness ended. The lalafell then began examining the woman in front of her, tapping on her chin and making both approving and disapproving noises as she looked her up and down for a few moments before finally snapping back to reality. She then reached out her small hand in greeting. "You may call me Professor Ozma, or Doctor, whichever you prefer. I'm a woman here on business so excuse me if I'm too direct. You were the one who posted the job about the live-in maid, correct?"
-
Be awesome ? I don't think you need to worry about doing anything special. If I remember correctly, Lalafell are the most abundant race in Eorzea. As far as lore goes, they don't seem to have anything extra special about them. They are kind of like smaller Hyur's (unless I am missing something).

((Someone feel free to chime in as well as I don't think Shizu is going to get what she is looking for from my character )) The pig-tailed brunette Lalafell looked up on the wall where she saw a bill posted, squinting to try to make it out, but unable to. "These bill posters never take in to consideration people with smaller statures." Turning around to a large Roegadyn she screams out at her, "Hey, you. Yeah, you. Come over here and read this for me, it's out of my view." The Roegadyn glanced around before she finally realized that the small woman was speaking with her. She walked over to the poster and read it to herself before conveying the message. "It seem's here like a live-in maid who cooks, cleans, and does all the maid stuff to come along with it is wanting employment." "Perfect! Hand it over." "You mean the poster?" "Of course, now hand it over so I may track down the source." The Roegadyn ripped the poster from the wall and handed it over to her. She walked away mumbling something along the lines of, "bossy lady". The Lalafell gave the poster a quick over before rolling it up and making her way to the place listed. It did not take the woman too long to find the address listed in Limsa. Once she located it, she balled up the paper, no longer needing it, and threw it away before walking up to the door and banging on it.

You have free'd me from my prison of currently not RPing at this very moment. Prepare to be poked.

My first time DMing an event has been in FFXIV and I have done about 7 events so far and I really enjoy it. I'm not sure how good I am at it, but I think its important to make sure to get everyone involved and to not have an exact outcome, but more like an outline. I had one where Denn was suppose to almost die, but then be rescued. That went perfectly fine, but as she was rescued things went bad. It turned out that one person had to stay behind, leading the Garlean army away from the others while the other party escaped. Which then lead to a unscheduled showdown on a bridge between one of the Garlean generals and the person leading them away. It was a lot of fun ^^. My most recent one was a simple "go into cave and kill a few wolves". After a bunch of bad rolls (and a new HP system I was trying out) it almost accidentally ended up with being mauled alive by a pack of wolves lol. Of course I couldn't let the people participating die, so I had to throw in some mechanics to help them win. In the long run we won, but were very wounded and it turned into a nice thing as it helped with character development for the parties involved as wounds were tended to. Really thinking about it...I just realized that almost all of my events end up with people almost dying..Perhaps I should ease up the amount and power of the npcs . Anyway, what I'm simply try to say is be flexible, try not to leave anyone out, and don't worry if things don't go as planned. Just roll with it! Also Sastra, I'm sorry to hear about that. It just seems like it was a bad on the DM's fault. I did one event where I was called to participate and play a part and kind of just sat around for about 40mins doing absolutely nothing and ended up just logging out >.>

Lol, damnit Faye. You should just tell them or this is going to go on forever. I think I know which character you are speaking of, but its not that big of a deal to post it. I don't think it would be giving anything away >.>

I think I am failing to grasp what you are saying here. Are you saying that you would not be able to RP any of this out if the character herself was not a Black Mage? Because if so, then I think I will have to disagree with you on that. I hope you understand that I am not saying that I am against people RPing whatever job they are. I just don't understand why people feel like they need to RP their characters as being the best job in that class. Very very rarely I ever bump into someone who says that they are a pugilist, or a gladiator, or a conjurer, its usually they are a monk, a paladin, or a white mage. Edit: After reading a few more of these posts I thought I would chime in that its a bit unfair to attack someones character because they would be skeptical of someone who claimed to be a white mage when lore kind of tells them to be skeptical. I don't really play any characters who know much about magic (except for one) so I have never had to deal with being skeptical about IC jobs. The only skepticism I have is Denn doesn't trust magic in any form because of the whole white magic causing the umbral era thing and most of the time she will outright refuse magical healing because in her mind she thinks that receiving it too often would do too much harm to the world.

I think the thing is that people want to be the strongest job/class. I mean when it comes down to RP fighting, a gladiator and paladin still both use a sword and shield, a lancer and dragoon still both use a lance, a conjurer and white mage still can both heal, etc. I just think people want the super powerful title and the abilities that come along with it, even though they probably will not often use them, and I honestly don't understand why. My main for instance will probably never become a monk, but that doesn't keep her from still running around and beating the crap out of things. A job title is just a job title and you don't need it to be considered awesome. I feel like its the same thing when it comes to the discussion about relic weapons. Some people want to RP the relic weapons because they want to feel/look super strong, instead of just settling for a normal weapon or a replica. At the end of the day, when I run into RPers who claim they are White Mages or Dragoons or something like that; I simply say "okay" and go along with it, because they are going to do what they want and as long as its not screwing up any story that I have set on my character then I'm fine with it.

Those FFXIV pieces are really really nice. Looks like its time for me to snatch more gil from my retainers.

Would anyone be interested in a Chocobo Leveling LS?
LandStander replied to D R E N's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Hahaha, I like this idea. I have waaaayy too many LS' though . -
Congratulations !

Yes, there are lots of people who do not follow the naming conventions so you are fine ^^. No need to worry about it.
-
That is a lot of roles to fill. I normally love playing the antagonist, but I don't have any of my characters that would be interested in this sort of thing. Denn usually takes whatever job, but she has a big thing about freedom and choice. It might be a bit easier to try to get some NPC's to fulfill some of these roles. Good luck!

It seems fine to me. I mean FF14 is basically going to be an MMO fan service as they bring in characters from other Final Fantasy games. We have seen Lightning from 13 so far. Cloud of Darkness from FF3 will be making an appearance alongside the man who is famous for dimension hopping, Gilgamesh. Shantotto from 11 is mentioned as lore in the game (she made the BLM relic weapon, the stardust rod) and will make a cameo in game. Interesting thing, she had her own campaign in 11 where she actually dimension hopped. Then we have the Void and Atomos which are both linked to other dimensions. We have even seen the power to time skip. What I am trying to say is that your story is fine since you are just porting your character over with her memories from her previous place (funny thing is I sort of entertained the idea of having a character who came from Vanadiel in XI just for giggles >.>). As long as you aren't giving her any crazy powers like the ability to send other people to other dimensions, turn into Bahamut, etc (which I can see that you do not) then I think you are perfectly fine .

Ew, Freelance? That guy is the worst... ...person to try to hate ! Congratulations

Count me in. I have a i71 monk that can go. I rather go on SCH because I have done the fight so much I am great at healing it, haha. Actually if anyone ever needs it just send me a PM anytime. I usually put the call out over the team Roegadyn LS and we rush to the aid of the lesser races
