The LS that a few of us belong to is more for those who are active in the military, spies, engineers, scientist, soldiers, and others who have either defected or stand for the Garlean cause. So if any of these fit for you, let me know ^^

I think I have invited all the new characters here but you two, Ven and Ram, to one of the two Garlean LS'. When either of you log on, give me a poke and I'll send you one ^^. A few of us actually went down to Limsa a few nights ago and RP'd in the tavern. The crazy all in one place, it was fun :3

Hmmm, I wouldn't say that all of these ideas are shared by the RP community at large. Things like OOC character level being used IC as proof that you are stronger is still a really split issue; this is along with debatable things like if you should RP with relic weapons or having your character be part of the main story. I think he was asking for general rules, like obeying lore, metagaming, and stuff that a very large portion of the population agree's with. Oh, I suppose while I am responding to this post I can add something else as well. Be mindful about being too special of a snowflake. I think we all want our character's to be different, to stand out, and be fun, but there is a line you have to be careful not to cross. When you start entering the realm of being sent from an alternate dimension and having some form of advanced knowledge (like being a blue mage or something) or being able to grow wings made of aether IC, then you may be taking it too far. I'm not suggesting that everyone be plain characters, but just be careful. There is a great RPer who plays as a seer, but allows their power to be completely random and lets the other character decide what she is shown or if she see's anything at all. Though this makes her someone very unique she is careful about not overdoing it so it works out perfectly fine ^^.

To chime in a little on this without repeating too much of what has already been said, what I find a decent amount of RPers fall victim to is being scared of letting bad things happen to their character. I mean you are in control of your character, but you cannot always win. Your plans cannot always work and you cannot get all the ladies/men because you are the most perfect person ever. Write your characters with some weakness, being emotional, physical or both. Make them more believable and make them feel alive. Allow them to fail and lose. Drama is a very very good way of having your character grow up. When it comes to combat the rule I sort of follow is keeping it in the realm of possibility while still letting the fantasy world take over. Like could a Lalafell really have enough muscle strength to break through a stone wall? Probably not. But say he had to throw his/her shield at someone, I dont think that is logical or very practical in the real world, but I see it as being completely viable in the world of fantasy.

Im going to agree with what Kayah said. I think the important thing to do is get comfortable enough to step out of your FC <3. Sometimes I run into random RP and after getting to know them and I feel like they may gravitate towards criminal RP I ask them a series of questions IC to see how they answer. If that further gives me more reason to believe they are then I may out right pursue them and try to recruit. And other times I may be talking about Denn OOC and someones shows interest so we arrange a meeting to see if they would mix well. Sometimes I get turned down, sometimes it works! There are a lot of characters in the game who are not into that, but you would be surprised about some who are. Just gotta take the risk of getting out there and asking ^^

While I think you can only change names if you change your server and someone else has the same name. So I think the way to do it would be to create an alt with the name on Balmung before you transfer your character that way it will force a name change. As far as a FC or LS goes, I made a Garlean LS awhile back, but its sort of died out. Right now its only a few alts from the FC I am in (including myself) and I think two people main as a Garlean. So if anything there is a small directory of active Garleans . I am actually playing more on my Garlean character lately as I am trying to bring them back into the mix, so if you can't find anyone else I would be more than happy to take you under my wing or I can make suggestions to you regarding the other Garlean RPers that I know of.

Yeah before you could simply create a character during off peak hours, but since PS4 beta I have not seen character creator open up once during any hour of the day ; ;. I deleted one of my alts to make room for another one for a specific on going plot and I have been unable to make them. Hopefully they open it up or enlarge servers or something..idk..

We are currently at a bit of a war with the players who play Sultanasworn and a friend of mine will be making a masked vigilante for some fun comic book style humor and action EDIT: I should also add that all you other unsavory types out there, if you wanted to set up alliances between our linkshells or characters just let me know <3.

Hahaha, that is what I am going to use. I made a character a few months back that I never got fully off the ground. She was my Shantotto rip off. I was really happy when they had the Shantotto event because now I have a doll to go with her! I think I may try the lantern thing and then post here with links to it..because honestly I click on that thing like once every 2 months or so..

So I am thinking of starting up an RP newspaper to keep everyone up to date on the happenings of the world. Nothing like private journals that document so and so going on a long walk, but stuff like "an explosion was heard outside of camp drybone this evening. Investigators are still looking for the source.". But I want it to be about plots that the FC's are in (I'll be filtering some of these out myself). Things about The Stars and Stripes Free Company beating back a small beastman force that was forming out in the Sagolii Desert and stuff like that. Now I know we have the Tonberry Lantern but I feel like no one reads that... I just wanted to know how the community felt about this idea, and if you do like it, would you mind messaging me some stories to write about? We could even have IC interviews for some stuff as well.

No, FC's are limited to one house. But if you make multiple FC's you can purchase multiple homes....As far as Lavender Beds...idk. I actually never seen it >.>. Have only been to the Uldah and Limsa housing areas.

Are you really asking this question? You come on your Roe. It can be level -5 causing just a rendering of their head and you should still come as a floating head Roe!

As a native of Vegas I can definitely say its Ul'dah. You have gambling, dancing girls, and a coliseum where fights are held. An expensive city that is known for its wealth (vegas is actually broke right now just like Ul'dah is becoming )
