I have been tossing an idea around in my head for a few days now. I have always wanted to make a Shantotto-type character and I thought it would be fun if we could double the trouble and make twins (doesn't have to be same sex) who would finish each other's rhymes. Example: Character 1: "I say, these drunkards in the desert are quite a disgrace." Character 2: "Yes, these hooligans in Ul'dah think that they own the place." They don't always have to finish each other's rhymes, but I just thought it would be fun if they did sometimes .

LF players Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts RPG
LandStander replied to shockwave2493's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I have literally played every FF (including those weird ones in the original Game Boy), but I have never played Kingdom Hearts D: How much different can it be though, right? I just want to be Ultimecia. Let me control time! Heck, getting into an adventuring party as Kefka even sounds fun . I thought about Cloud of Darkness, but her personality is a bit bland...or even better yet...Shantotto That's it. You have to invite me so I can be Shantotto Hohohohohoho -
Does anyone want a kid? (Both Servers.)
LandStander replied to Mastersticks11's topic in RP Discussion
Boooo, you are a month too early! I actually had planned for Denn to adopt a kid after some unfortunate events because she has kind of got bitten by the mother bear bug, but as of right now her plot isn't at the point where something like that is possible...or...maybe... I actually have a character who has a kid around the age you were describing, but I don't play her that often and so I can't really link the two up. -
A loud explosion causes the building to rumble. Pebbles fall from the ceiling and land onto Dennthota's body as she lay on her bed with her arm's casually on her chest. A huge grin appears on her face as the prison erupts into panic. The sound of the footsteps of guards as they rush through the hall echo throughout the jail cells. And then another explosion, this one slightly closer than the last. The large roegadyn woman casually sits up out of her bed and looks towards the bars and that is when she spotted her. The roegadyn who looked very similar to her, wearing one of the Flames outfits. "Ah, so I trust the gil was enough then? Lets hurry up and do this. My ass is starting to cramp from being locked in this cell." The mysterious woman opens up the jail cell and the two start to get undressed. Dennthota trades in her dingy prison clothes for a freshly cleaned Immortal Flames outfit. "Bye, love." Denn blows a kiss to the woman as she settles comfortable into the space once occupied by Dennthota. Denn casually slips out through the chaos and into freedom's open arms. A blue haired hyur and a large green eye'd roegadyn wave at her and she smiles brightly at them before running in their direction, making her great escape.

Lurking isn't constructive to finding RP, so hi.

What kind of stories has your character gotten into? Dennthota started off as just a side character to help people move their stories along, but she has evolved into her own being now. She reunited with the child of her dead lover which caused her to join the Garlean force. She found herself falling for someone who she would least expect something like that to happen to and even found herself in a love triangle. She betrayed and lied to those close to her and found allies in people she would least expect. How has your character changed since the game re-launch? Dennthota has always been an antagonistic character so her joining the Garleans was just the kind of something that was destined to happen. They have money, power, and are feared and respected by millions; just the kind of thing that interests her :3. Though I feel like she is becoming a bit more conscious of other people's feelings. She has lost a bit of her wild streak, but still causes enough trouble to keep herself busy. Also she has gotten in touch with her motherly side having had to watch over the young Garlean soldier. What has been your favorite RP moment so far?I love good drama and so my most favorite moment was when Remi had captured Denn after she turned Garlean and locked her up to question her. Denn convinced her to loosen the chains and then proceeded to attack Remi, and was making her way out when the "moment" happened. She convinced Denn to stay behind so that she could help her and Denn willingly locked herself back up... What was the most shocking RP moment this year? Fleeting Dawn wins this one. She had attacked Dennthota's imperial scouting unit. Denn had no idea who it was as she was attacking using the coverage of the tree's and actually managed to take out the four NPC's in the scouting unit before becoming seriously injured. Once Denn found out it was Fleeting who was attacking them, Fleeting confessed her love to Denn. It literally sent her on a roller coaster and unraveled everything. What was the most surprising thing you found out about your character? Although she is physically tough; I found out that she is very emotionally vulnerable. And even though she comes off as a huge jerk who only cares about herself, she actually has a soft spot buried in there. What relationships did your character build? She has made a lot of friends and I am surprised at how few enemies given her brash and sometimes just straight rude behavior. She even found some love interests which I had never planned for. I kind of gave her a personality to keep relationships at bay, but they found their way to her door anyway, haha. Dennthota has also developed a rivalry with Obsidan Hornet and I have really enjoyed that. I can't wait to see how it all plays out. I have a feeling that it ends up with Denn on the edge of her axe, haha. What are you looking most forward to seeing in the future with your characters growth and story? I am just curious how long she can stay alive, haha. She seems to constantly find herself in a lot of trouble. I would love to see how the long triangle ends up as well because both parties currently think that the other betrayed them.

Funny thing. I remember reading about how when the Hyur first migrated to Eorzea and met the Elezen that some scholars thought that the Elezen were a bastard race of Hyur, but of course the Elezen completely call BS on this claim. I can't recall if there are still some scholars who still hold his belief. I'll try to dig up where I found that at.

When you get settled in game, find me, Dennthota Ahtahrmwyn. There is a Roegadyn LS where we Roe's like to gather together and talk about Roe things, like mini-golf, restaurants with utensils that fit in our hands, and also how to crush the bones of our enemies into a fine dust that we can use for all sorts of things:love:

*cough* Just gotta get lucky with finding someone who can invite! And Seleos, don't wimp out on us. Do it villain style! Join the dark side with me. We have mini cupcakes :moogle:. My main started out as a complete antagonist, but she is starting to calm down a bit as her character develops. She still causes a lot trouble and even joined up with the Garleans for awhile. It provided a ton of character development for her and she is actually slightly aligning herself more towards neutral now. I don't think she will ever be a real hero, but who knows. If you ever want to get into the more fun villainy side of things there is a small villain LS that Andras Goetia (hopefully I didnt butcher the name) started up.

Lol!! But to answer your question, no. I have not seen this.

Not to mention that Ul'dah is known as a city with abundant wealth, so the refugee's would seek it out to get their lives back together. In regards to the Hyur migration, this happened a super long time ago so you don't really need to worry about this. When then Hyur's came to Eorzea, they actually waged war against the native Elezen. The Elezen population kind of split with the Wildwood's doing most of the fighting and the Duskwights choosing to avoid the conflict. This caused the formation of those two different tribes. The Elezen eventually lost the war and the Hyur's just moved in. Since it happened so long ago there is not really much racism that exist due to this conflict between the Elezen and Hyur's. The era's are split up going from Umbral Era (an era filled with chaos) to an Astral Era (an era filled with peace). We are currently in the Seventh Umbral (or Astral, depending on if you are updating lore with the 2.1 patch) Era. Some wiki information on the Hyur's. If you find any other questions, please ask . http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Category:Hyur

Yes, you are looking at the People's Champion of the Grindstone :3 I play a lot of Garlean characters and usually control some Garlean NPC's to throw at people (and I have been thinking about getting one of my characters into piracy or banditry). I have developed a bit of an HP system for the NPC's, but I am unsure of how to treat it for PC characters. This is how my current system goes: If the attacker rolls a number that is higher than the defenders roll then the attack lands. 1-25 higher is a light attack: -1 HP 26-50 is a moderate attack: -2 HP 51+ is a heavy attack: -3 HP I have been messing around with things like double attack, letting the highly offensive player roll two attacks every 3 rounds, or letting the highly defensive and protective player roll a defense for another player who has failed their roll to try to protect them from an attack. I don't want to make it too confusing, but I want to add enough mechanics in my small events to make the characters feel more unique. Usually my no named NPC's have about 3 HP, but I am unsure how much to give the PC characters. I have also spoken with a friend about a trait bonus system giving the PC players about 10 points each to assign to things such as 1 point can be spent to raise all of your offensive rolls by +1, but staying with the subject of HP. Could these trait bonuses be used to raise HP for those characters with high constitution? Should it be something more like 3 points can be put in to raise HP by 1 to make the trait not to over powered? How much HP should PC characters start off with that wouldn't make them too strong? I am thinking that 6 may be good enough? I don't know. Just wanted some fun stuff to spice up my events a bit more . I have no problem with tavern RP, but its really nice to get a break from it all and have people go out and face the dangers in the world. I just want them to feel like the world is dangerous and not that they are some supreme adventurer who can just go charging into beastmen camps and coming out with 100 Amal'jaa heads.

So I don't have much experience in the RP department and even less in being a GM/DM (don't know if there is a difference between the two). I attended one that Meat threw at release (our resident rock star Roegadyn) and kind of just worked my way from there with the small bit of experience I picked up from it. I have thrown a few events myself and added in some mechanics from time to time (like double attacks and defensive characters using cover), but I really want to start playing around with HP bars and such now. I want to add a bit more of randomness to the fights I host and I want the PC's involved to sometimes fail and suffer the consequences of it. My question for those of you who run RP battle events (or have been involved in them in the past), what mechanics do you use and what advice can you give?

You know, I absolutely agree with you. Despite the interesting lore, a lot of people do not take advantage of it. They play their Miqo'te as basically a Hyur cat. My Miqo'te is not different, but that is because he was raised in Garlamald and is still employed by the empire so he has no tribal nature about him at all and is actually very well spoken. I have honestly thought about having him face a bit of prejudice because of his race since it seems like most of the imperial soldiers are Hyur and Elezen. I wanted to make him a Hyur but..yeah I listed my reasons for going Miqo'te .

Not even with an elezen? I hate the Elezen face the Aesthetician uses soooo much. But yeah, it's certainly a candidate should one wish to make an "effeminate" male character. No, that face is not available in the Elezen character creator. You get little boy face, old man face, angry face 1 and angry face 2. Plus their /dance isn't as fabulous as the Miqo'te men and its more like a lazy jig. And the Elezen males don't have great hair options that fit the look I was going for. The eye shadow looks a lot better on the Miqo'te males as well because it kind of fits with their whole "pretty boy" look. So basically yeah, Miqo'te male was the only one who could fit the bill. Though thinking back on it, I think it would have been more fun to play that character on a giant male Roe, talking about flowers, beauty, and using poetic language :3
-
Honestly, I never wanted to make a Miqo'te character. I didn't like how they looked (the tribal thing was interesting though) or their emotes or anything. I did end up becoming one for one reason only. I wanted to make a flamboyant slightly effeminate male and I couldn't really achieve the results with any of the other races *Shakes fist at the aesthetician for being so damn fabulous*. I tried to recreate my Miqo'te as a Hyur just recently, but it just doesn't work out as well Its kind of the same reason when I went lady roe as my main. I wanted to make a woman who would have slightly masculine features and all the other character options were too dainty and cute. So yeah..both of my characters are gender benders

I would throw my hat into the ring and say recon the story, but there is really nothing wrong with the time traveling thing. I mean it has been shown in game that it is possible, but if you do go this route should basically give her fuzzy memory syndrome. Say that she does not remember anything from the future and yeah..basically everything that Tiergan said .

D'Ren! You and I are now PvP buddies! Yeah my friend just made the wolf gear and I see a big difference in my survivability as a healer now.

Hahaha, I have not yet looked at the PvP abilities and I am already rank 6 . I will have to check them out

Let's play a game that I like to call "never have I ever" :tonberry: Edit: because I thought I would try to be constructive On another note, I really don't care what people do. When I first started RPing last year in GW2 I joined a dark-themed guild because I was extremely curious (I still am, and I have currently found out how awesome GMing events is) about all sorts of different kinds of RP. Little did I know was that this certain guild was a widely known ERP guild. My second day, I got invited to our HQ for an "ERP party" and I had no idea what that was, and well...I found out lol. There were people in the guild who only logged on to ERP and others who had stories that revolved outside of the setting. The people were really private and kept the chat in party, but some people still came out after them OOC and IC because of what the guild was based around which I thought was lame as most of the people there were nice and even took me in (a complete noob to the RP scene). The funniest part of it all is that I would see some of these people on the forums who would speak out against ERP and yet they would see my characters guild tag and poke me for ERP when I didn't partake in the festivities . If two adults want to talk about hoo-hahs and whatsits and as long as they are being mindful of others, then I am completely fine. Sometimes I get a little embarrassed typing out my character kissing someone (and not like typing out the details of an intimate kiss or anything) or having a romantic moment because I don't want people walking by, reading the chat log, and then rolling their eyes thinking I am trying to ERP in public.

This is literally my most favorite track in the entire game. It throws my adrenaline into over drive every time. Tyvm for the post ^^

I have been going crazy with the PvP. I believe it was handled a lot better than I expected. The only thing they really need is either a debuff on blm sleep or more sleep resistant gear. I play a SCH and as you would expect, healers are high on everyone's list. You can't just sit in the back in heal constantly. I toss in miasma's (for gravity and -healing) or use Blizzard 2 to bind people who have come after you. You really have to learn how to use all of the skills are your disposal, but it really requires a lot of team work. You can be the best healer in the world, but if you are rushed and none of your DPS or tanks are protecting you, you will fall pretty quickly. All and all I rate it a 3.5/5, but its still A LOT of fun and a nice mix up from the day to day mindless beast slaying.
