Phantasy Star Online 2 x Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration
Jana replied to Aldotsk's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
Urth's Fount officially announced for PSO2! https://youtube.com/watch?v=BucQC7USvfM With how collab bosses work in PSO2, I wouldn't be surprised if this permanently unleashes Odin on that game as a wandering boss after the special event ends. Guess we'll have to wait until after the Easter event to see what XIV will be getting in exchange. -
Jana would be a huge Tarantino fan, loving movies like Django Unchained (runaway slave murders masters) or Inglorious Basterds (military unit behind enemy lines terrorizes via dismemberment). IRL I love those movies too but my absolute favorites are Muppets, The Lego Movie, Madagascar 3 kind of embarrassing and not at all what my character would appreciate.

"Yer standing on it ya..." Jana's voice trailed off as she held off on another insult, instead pointing at the woman's feet. Even more people had come forward from the crowd, and while the keeper was confident to the point of arrogance in a fight, even she didn't want to have to fend off an angry mob alone.

Training exercise? Training exercise! The plot hook Jana's hanging out on seems to be taking a break from violence this round but maybe the next one!
-
With an audible "Tch!", it was plain Jana was holding herself back. The fight lover had to keep reminding herself that her role was to respond to violence, not incite it. "Just get your blubbering mess off the walkway, or at least somewhere out of the way..." (Gonna wait for Steel before posting again, I don't wanna get too far ahead!)

Jana let out a small huff; it was hard to tell if she was disappointed or relieved. With the drunk having hit the ground without her doing anything, she decided her job was done. Let her scattered company in the crowd handle things... The bespectacled keeper simply took a step back. "See that it doesn't happen again, you might not get so lucky with people nearby willing to bail you out..."

If we wanna be super nitpicky about Primals, we can say the original three story Primals are summoned in their Ex forms once a week: There is a Rowena weekly to kill them once a week for their summoners' bloody totems, after all. (And it isn't a "relive the experience" weekly like the WoD trio or anything from the Minstrel.)

Pre-ordering as soon as I get home, no question about it! @w@

Jana was on the $ event, but planning isn't a strong point of hers. I'll sign her up for "Where Two or Three Are Gathered" but if another person wants in after it fills, I'll be willing to drop for them!

Creepy Keeper Or if a hard-C isn't good enough for you, Sullen Summoner.
-
Jana's already fought alongside the WoL. It's canon now, so y'all can go home.
-
With primal themes specifically, I could see them as being OOC arrangements of an in-universe theme. They're all different genres too, not just metal/rock.
-
I've always thought they'd be like PSO2's jukeboxes you can put in your room. They work a little differently in that you can play only what you've collected in XIV as opposed to what's loaded into the box but the music itself is just music that doesn't necessarily need to be addressed in-universe track by track.

Ah yeah, the Dreadwyrm/T13 Handgonne even had that "spin" animation when drawn. Also if we're talking about MCH specifically, there's their little aether ammo pack thing (what's strapped to every MCH's hip) and how it places them apart from just a guy with a gun. I'm not 100% familiar with the lore behind it, but I think it uses the soul gem to empower shots loaded from it?
-
I doubt we have any magazines but we do have a couple of revolver barrels (the "Handgonne" models and the new PvP gun).
-
Mechanists are a brand-new job "invented" in Ishgard as a way to produce their own tech/magitek for use against dragons, inspired in part by the Garlond Ironworks. The gem you're given is unique in that it's devoid of the etchings described in every other jobs' soul gem since you're the first to hold it, and after each job quest where you learn a new skill, you're implicitly taught by the NPCs, not by the gem giving you knowledge. I don't think we have lore on the manufacture of firearms yet, unless new BSM quests go into it. We can infer a few things though, like since Limsa has been using muskets and rifles since 1.0, they would know about making them. Ishgard's efforts seem to be largely on the part of just the 1 house the NPCs come from (I'm at work and can't check which house it was, though).
-
Also if you're making alts, one tip i can give is that since you get a free Fantasia vial for each after subbing a month, you only really need to finalize names for them. You can play them long enough to get out of the Lv1 instance to see how you might want to tweak appearances too.

"I wonder why a subforum I don't check often is getting all the posts today- Oh." Most ERP linkshells I know of have closed recruitment policies, meaning an officer or group of members will have to vouch for you as a drama-free recruit. DN is more open in recruiting as far as I know, but I've never joined one of their groups so I can't say more about them. On the topic of getting onto Balmung in the first place, I don't think waiting for early morning really works anymore, and people have reported the window immediately after maint has been 30 seconds or less. If it's worth it to you, your best bet may be to make a paid transfer over. Keep in mind that paying lets you transfer up to 8 characters from one server to another for a flat $18, so if you're interested in having any alts at all, now's the time to make them.

(It didn't occur to me that I didn't describe what Jana's wearing in my last posts, let me fix that!) The Keeper crossed her arms and let out a small huff. "The popoto's right. Then again, I tend to doubt anyone as big as you could hit me sober either." Unlike the Brass Blade, Jana was unarmored, wearing loose, light clothes for the desert heat... And while she wasn't showing much skin, that which did would betray her toned figure. Uncrossing her arms to smooth out her purple top, she glanced down at the newest interloper to emerge from the crowd. Maybe if the drunk tried to punt him, she could catch him...?

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales
Jana replied to Gegenji's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I'm pretty impatient as a DPS, so if I'm falling asleep and the other DPS seems capable, I'll usually just tell the tank I think we can handle more. Sometimes they'll answer, sometimes they won't say anything, but in the end, I'm the one who has to wait for a queue if I try to force it. -
Jana tried to hide her disappointment as R'elend walked away, even after dodging the wild punch thrown at him by the mountainous drunk. Stepping further forward from the crowd without paying heed to the noise gathering behind her, she looked up at the larger woman with a scowl. "Are you quite finished? You haven't hit anyone, so you can still walk away..."

The keeper inside of the Quicksand stood up from her seat in the bar. Jana Ridah was usually content to drink her mead undisturbed, even in the popular Adventurers' Guild that was almost never truly quiet. But even had it been whispered, she immediately reacted to the one word she'd heard that cared about most above any other in this world. Taking a few steps forward to separate her from onlookers, but staying just behind the Brass Blade who'd reacted first, Jana nudged her glasses up on her nose as she sized up the situation. She recognized R'elend's voice and stature, and while she wasn't in the uniform of the Immortal Flames, she figured that the Seeker wouldn't mind if she back him up on yet another bar brawl. The shouting Roegadyn woman, on the other hand, was a stranger. Even if she was tall compared to most of her race, Jana stood no chance of intimidating the other woman through stature alone... But maybe the possibility of a two-on-one would force her to calm down.

I see the ACN spells as building blocks for SMN, since some of the SMN-exclusive abilities Y'mitra gets off of tomestones for you like Tri-Disaster and Fester are directly meant to utilize them. But there are also abilities like Painflare and the Ruin spells you could choose to "focus" on. Though I have to be honest here, ICly and OOCly I'd have to call shenanigans on someone casting flaming swords with a tome.
