Glitches, ahoy! The funny glitch/bug thread.
Koti Nexus replied to Satisiun's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I like the second one, as all that comes to mind with that is, "You are in the Matrix!" -
I am actually use to them mimicking our accent since my family in Canada is not the far removed from the British side of the family. My great grandmother was from Britain, so they all carry the accent still, which is where I learned to pick up on some of it and talk like them. However I would hope in respect it be seen as a kind gesture and not one of down right insult, since I think its amusing when others try to do southern, and being from Texas, I tend to sit back and grin as they try and go, "Try a little of this, and less of that." so I actually try and correct them. The only other person I met who was a Brit was a girl in my school who tried to hide it, and I was the first student to pick up on because I noticed how she spoke with some of the words. Needless the say, she was most upset with me for about three days. (we also had a small school population of 200, so she just glare at me, but i got on good terms with her on a witts match between the two of us)

You think this is bad, you should have been around for Closed Beta. :bomb: Now there was a mess upon mess of good old fun, like the combat bug where you /had/ to either die or logout to get it corrected! Oh, then there FPS hold up, which was killing most of our computers (was killing mine cause he couldn't run full steam). Sudden crashes, like, you log in and crash, try again, crash, oh look another crash.. MMORPGs are NEVER perfect when they first start out. They never will be. They are far more "Massive" then the normal solo game. Now, if a solo game was like this, I be livid, but they are not, you wanna know why? Because there isn't as many people, there isn't servers, and they can just focus on "You". Where here on a MMORPG they have to focus on everyone, which means people are gonna find the black holes, and they are gonna find the glitches. That is why they have doods not only in home office testing stuff, but they are also monitoring our activities, cause they are trying to find the problems. If you want a "Nice" version of this game, wait about six months to eight. Then maybe come back again. I'm sorry if I sound sorta ill tempered, but for crying out loud, people need to learn some patience! It is. >.> Somewhere, some place back in Closed Beta, they brought it up.. once. I believe it was in closed beta, or in an interview. They are aware of the Gil sellers, and all that, so they were looking for awhile they couldn't do it. I recognize the system due to the same system Istaria uses. Istaria is a fully community crafted game. You have to sell your items in the consigner (their auction house) in order to make good money, but you also have to craft it, and to craft it, you gotta have the tools, and each tool has a level meet, and each item, you also gotta have the formula. You have to go kill monsters for the formula (or pay a hefty NPC price), which means for gold sellers, this an utter pain, oh yeah-- and you also gotta pay so much in order to place it up for sell.. or you sell it to the pawn broker, who could rip you off. So yes, it most likely is to keep Gil sellers and Bots away. However, there is an Auction house in LL, you can see the sign, you just can't go in.

I love FF14! I love the system, I love the levelings, I love the cities, and I love the scenery. I love the emotes, I love the flow. I pretty much love everything about the game. Sure it has its bugs, but what MMORPG doesn't when it first comes out? It takes a bit to work out, polish and shine, but its still a nice gem stone, even when its a bit dirty. My only complaint I have thus far toward the game is two simple complaints and they are very minor, "meh" overs..... Not enough space to type with, as it is to short. And not enough mobs. However this is open beta, so perhaps they will add more mobs on release. (You can also say, I hate WoW and the most decent games I've played that I actually enjoyed was EQ(way when), Istaria, and FF11)

Which version of the game will you be getting?
Koti Nexus replied to Nikolai's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I figure they would be, since typically they ask for the "Code" of the product.. then again, that was back with PoL.. >.> Don't give up my dreams of the awesome goggles! (cause I really hate that onion helm, if it wasn't for the 8 extra days and the leather bound journal, I wouldn't have gotten the CE.) Now if you meant trade-able IG, that wasn't what we were gonna do. *lives at home* -

Getting the Collectors Edition and it has already been paid off, so all I gotta do is go in the store and go get it. However my mom is getting the standard, so we will be trading items. I get her goggles and she gets the helm.. or she may tell me to keep both since she found out her computer can't run FF14 ; But yes, I will have the collectors and all its goodies! -
Sweet!

I guess I could just make a macro so it will do it. I like it better when it was "Intelligent" and did it on its own. ;

Well, I am on Con, just that for some reason it isn't doing area effect (I wish it would had) Or I the radius of it was adjusted since closed beta to live beta. :? Do you know what the radius was when you were fighting stuff? Edit: That is the part I am trying to figure out. Felix is a DoM Conj, so it be nice if I could figure that out. I know I tried the arrow keys, and that didn't go, tried the camera, no go there either... I hope it isn't numpad keys, cause--- that would drive me nuts. >_o *uses a laptop*

I turn off my names! Not immersive with them on! I'm sure I've passed a ton of you as I've ran from Limsa to Gardinia today and didn't even realize it. I would turn off damage text if I could too. :\ That can be done in Configure actually.
-
yeah, bring down the font size. The Title size is fine, just the fond is huge.. and its bright. o_o

As the area effect thing is something new they decided to throw in (being the choice making) has anyone figure out how to make it an area effect and how to make it a single target attack? This would be really useful for my know since I am dealing with a mage and--- sometimes the thing decides, "No you can not attack that!" Mages + combat system wanting to be retarded = Dead mage! I do loe FF14, just really need to figure how the area on/off works lol

May I say, I love listening to your voice and thank you. X3 But yes.. I love you voice.. but then again, i love British and Australian voices. (which gets me allot of fun harassment on vent since a few guys I talk to live in that area and I have to refuse to sqwee every time I hear them talk) You probably have time I imagine to make up some more voices. Go forth and due! Show them your talent!!
-
Oh, you do not have a silly voice. You have a nice deepish voice.
-
I actually got freed up on its own. It really is just a game of patience, hehe.

Come on you 40 local connections! Kick it!

Ok - The files are pretty large, I think around 7 megs. Gotta love wav files, but at least they are nice raw files. Here is the entire narration in Voice 3: http://www.britestarproduction.com/v3-n1.wav And because you said that... I had to do the entire narration again in this voice: http://www.britestarproduction.com/fun-n1.wav Curse you! (Its actually tricky doing a deep voice like that, let me tell you. o_o ) ----------------- Funny thing is, when I was in Theater, my teacher told me I had a great voice for Shakespearean plays, and that he could actually see me in voice acting. I never chased it because I got into comics. Though, it is still fun.
-
Let me see if I can throw together a full narration then using that voice. *stares at coffee.* ..However gonna need more of that first..
-
Oh the joys of being stuck!
-
I'll let you guys pick, as I can do these 3 rather comfortable with no problem. 1) Normal Voice (with some Theatrical holding): http://www.britestarproduction.com/normal.wav 2) British like voice: http://www.britestarproduction.com/british.wav 3) The russian, Kitty, french accent that I do: http://www.britestarproduction.com/kitty.wav
-
*ponders, just ponders for now* When do you need this by? Do you mind a female? Any accent you want? I can do British-like accent rather well.. Even russian-ish.. And do you mind .wav files as examples? Also how much need to be said? I realize that is allot of probably unknowns, but I am interested, just need to figure out if I have the time to devote.
