Yeah, I noticed the SFX for the crystals and it was.. actually kinda pretty. It was like what you sorta expected to hear, if that makes any sense. I also agree with you Aysun. I saw that waterfall and I was like: "I want to find it. That is going to be the first thing I do in the game. Find that freakin' waterfall and all the other waterfalls." Now as for the jumping, I guess I am use to jump spam. It happened in EQ (which was my first MMO), it happens in Istaria (which is an MMO most of you don't know), and well... WoW is the king of Jump Spam. I am actually kinda glad we /have/ jump, cause I don't know how many times I've come up to a log and been like: "..you seriously just can't jump over that? Really? Its a dang log. I am a freakin' dragoon. >|" So its kinda nice to have the now ability to actually jump off/around things, because in truth, Vaelyn does do allot of jumping over and off things, but he is a dragoon, so jumping off high things to low grounds is a thing. Some of my other characters, may not be so willing to jump off ledges. In away, I do kinda hope they place it damage for fall. I know Istaria doesn't have damage for fall, but they actually explained lore wise why this was and it actually made sense, but for 14, I can't figure how some races could fall down a cliff side and not take damage. OK. I can kinda see a Miqo'te getting away with this, and a dragoon class, but if a warrior was to fall down from a cliff side. He probably at least get some pain from the impact. But we will have to see what comes of that. Over all, I think ARR is actually far more beautiful then the original 14. I love where he is going with it and getting extremely excited. I just hope he is honest when he says that if you could run the old 14 you can honestly, completely, run the new 14. Being that the newer one wont be as much of a processor/graphics hog.

NSFW - Gerik's Sketchbook - Commissions Available!
Koti Nexus replied to Gerik's topic in Artisan House
Hahahaha!! You actually did it. I really need to stick my head more often in the RPC, but that is great. -
Just thought I let people know here that the Poll for keeping playing after Nov 11th is up on the Lodestone. I know I voted "Yes", but this is because I got no problem with kicking back. Exploring and continuing to RP out events. Though I do fear on American side of things, most people will vote "No", because no offense to my own nation (or the people from my own nation-- us not included), but I swear-- They have no freakin' imagination! >_o And unless they are "getting" something out of it (such as achievements and what have you), it doesn't mean anything to them. (I really do hate achievement systems) So really its ya'lls call whatever you wanna vote, but I just thought I toss out that its up and up on the front page of the Lodestone. Good day~

This is just a passing thought on this that came to mind. Even more when there are some of you who are pretty high in the crafting. Why not make this an RP event? Like an RP trader post type of thing where people could win armor, or could have commissioned stuff, maybe even just good ol' fun. It isn't often Roleplayers all seem to gather into one place and to me this would seem like an awesome way to get the newer roleplayers to hang out with some of the older roleplayers. Maybe even turn it into a monthly event.

So, I am really excited about Male Miqo'tes in 2.0. I am one of these crazy females in RL that love playing as guys, because, well, just easier to separate myself oocly if I am not playing my own gender. Either way, I found this and Thought I would share: [attachment=0] The file comment as the link of where I found it. If I find anymore male Miqo'te stuff. I will probably update it here. EDIT: Found a better more Hi Res picture. <3

Thanks you two. ^^ And yes. Duskwight male = <3 (Kinda looking forward to the 8 characters slots so I can resurrect Koti & make a male Miqo'te) @ Aysun - I keep forgetting to add you on my friend list when I am on to keep an eye out for you. >.> Then again, I tend to get on early morning or late evenings; Mostly early mornings... but next time I am on, I'll add you to my friendlist to try and keep an eye out. Just also haven't been back in the forest yet, Vaelyn is having fun in the Desert and being chased by the undead.

Not sure how playing a kid is kinky but ok. More like I figure by 2.0 its probably gonna be a mild fast forward, however one never knows what the future holds! *gets off that box so the thread can stay on topic*

This is a pretty nice idea and one I wish I could contribute too, but can't cause I started over (but maybe I can once Vaelyn gets all his crafting stuff up). I'm not the kinda person to ask for help though, never been. That and I am not even sure if anything you have would be useful for me to use or not. :|a I can tell you that I plan to level Vaelyn's Lancer and Pugilist skill so I can unlock Dragoon, but beyond this. I am not even sure what I could use, because it seems like just as I gain enough gil to buy some gear, I am already out leveling it. Maybe this isn't the case when you get higher than 10, but just feels that way atm. So, if you do have something I could use; I'd be grateful but at the same time, I wouldn't, for the life of me, even know /what/ I would need. ;;

And this is why I RP guys more then women. I can avoid things like this!! I decided to look up 'cats' and 'big cats' to see exactly what their pregnancy time was. I actually see a Miqo'te more around a big cat, then house cats, sooo I decided look more into that. It would seem big cats range around 3 months and half, so about 4 months. Humans of course are around nine to ten months. So I would figure since Miqo'te are half human, half cat.. you can probably guess around the medium of the two. So maybe like six to seven months? As for other races, its hard to say. Cause for example a Horse is around 11-12 months. A deer is 7 months. A rabbit is like, a month. A dog is around 2 months. So maybe as for other races. Hyrul = 9-10 months Elezen = 11-12 months Miqo'te = 6-7 months Roegadyn = 12-13 months Lalafell = 5-6 months That be my best guess anyhow. (PS - If you guys also want someone to play the child after 2.0, cause unless financially something happens and the child is a boy; I plan to make a Male Miqo'te anyhow on release of 2.0 and would be happy to play the kid. ^^ Give me an rp hook with a character at least)

It is actually this and really the Legacy deal that got me to sorta decide to go: "Welp. I have the Crysta still on my account. So why the heck not." It also seems I picked just the right time to join, as I just got an email in from the guys over at FFXIV about the fact I will be part of the Legacy Campaigners. Woot! So I actually get to also take part in that nice deal of 9.99 dollars. Kinda makes me wonder if my friend will get a chance as well, or if I somehow snuck in around that right-time window. :|a Either way, I hope both the F2P period and the Legacy will bring back the people for 2.0, since it sounds like its going to be one heck of an event. Then also being part of Beta back in the day, around for that week before launch.. I kinda feel bad if I also wasn't around for the change in the world.

Sorry for the lack of clarification there (blame writing that before fully cooling off from my walk - Desert heat, fun stuff). I mean as in Lifespans. (EX): Hyrul's live to be say 80, while their adult years seen to be 16(or 18). Stuff like that. I was mostly trying to determine the maybe proper age of Vaeyln, outside of referring to saying: "In Hyrul terms I am around my 30s.", cause that may not even be necessary if Elezen age the same rate as a Hyrul.

I am just wondering, has anyone looked into or figured out what the difference in Racial Ages may be? If any? I kinda glanced around some wikis, along with tried to search the forums, but didn't see anything regarding ages of races. So if anyone knows, please list them here. Maybe we could also add a page on the wiki concerning this.

Hi to you both! And I do believe I remember you as well Aysun. How ya been? ^^ I also do plan to stick around this time, as this morning I recreated Vaelyn and got him setup in Ul'Dah. So yay for a duskwight being in a sunny(yet shady people) place, haha. I am actually was surprised when I logged in with a new version, cause I decided for the heck of it to crank up my graphics a bit-- then low and behold! ... My computer actually was running cool and it wasn't having trouble keeping up. So I am not 100% sure what the new guy did on the graphics side, but something got changed where my computer is a very happy camper. Now purring away like it does on all games. Cause really, that is what kept me from playing FFXIV, was the fear of it melting my graphics card, and it being the only new age game that was giving my computer fits (since I was playing SWTOR for a bit). Sooo Hopefully I'll catch some of you lovely people. Maybe I will start up something on the RP forums. :|a Not sure yet.

Awhile back, I was going to try and make a return; however at the time, my funds got wonky and things happened in RL that kept me from returning. Sooo, here I go again to try and return to test (and maybe stay) with FFXIV I do plan to restart Vaelyn from scratch. I am thinking of dubbing it that somewhere on his original adventures running around, something happened (probably a monster he shouldn't been tangling with) and he took a nasty whack to the head. This leading to some memory lost, a bit of amnesia, and now he has to start all over again from the ground up. He is still going to be an Elven and a Duskwight and unlike most of his race, he is still going to be a rather nice guy. I am just trying to decide if I want him to hang around still in Gri, or maybe moving to another city. :|a He is still going to be a lancer and probably down the road a dragoon. It also may explain with the attack, why his stuff went missing. I realize the thing about amnesia is a cop out kinda thing, but I needed away to explain how he went from the level he did back to 1 and lost all his skills; also gives me a chance to rework his history a bit better, since I never really did get the chance to roleplay him. Seems the goddess has given this Mercenary a second chance at life.

Well, with 2.0 coming out and thus now the Male Miqo'te. Looks like I may be deleting my old cast of characters and well, starting over again from the beginning. Not sure how many others will be doing this with all the new announcement, but... May as well with this big of changes!
-
Thanks guys! I'm hoping.. *crosses fingers* That after 1.19 that my guys will still function alright. Though Vaelyn and Koti wont be effected to much by the change, but-- depending on how they handle the class system now, may really screw up Felix; since he is a battle-mage (or better said, a Red Mage). But I wont have the answers to how 1.19 effects them till this evening. I am also hoping with the new area construction that it may help with the graphics load, since I heard when they first placed in the areas they didn't seal up the graphics end-- so it kinda wants to load everything, instead of just what it needs. Well anyhow.. Hope to see ya'll in the game!

Hey people, So a few days ago in the Lounge, I was debating on coming back, but wasn't sure. Well after some further thought, so minor adjustments, and a little run though. I have decided to come back! Though I tend to be a very person RL and I spend a great deal of my time doing other things, I will be on my three characters, running around, and probably easy to locate! If your interested in roleplaying with me or like to hang, let me know. It be great. Cause I'll be frank, I never been in a party or even in any massive events since FF14 started. Sad no? So yeah, feel free to contact me!

I've read about the changes of 1.19 and they seem like they are changing the face of FF14 in what I hope will be a good way and I may come back after 1.19 is done, just the big curse will be starting over, as I have a feeling it will be a wiser idea for me to go ahead and delete my old characters and start over from fresh. Though I'll have to decide on one to remake and I fear my duskwight may lose to my other. I'll have to see. But I know for a fact I'll be having to remake them (just wish I could transfer their gil over to the new characters). But I am glad to hear Besaid is still the hot spot for FF14 and that everything is still moving along smoothly. I am also glad to see your still about as well. ^^

Hey people! Just seeing how things are going. I haven't been on FF14 in awhile. Kinda dropped out due to (1) fear I may overheat my computer (even though he was running the game not to badly) and (2) because of some of my annoyance at the time maybe what seemed like bad choices of characters (being that I realized you could travel all to the same areas and the quest lines starts to blur together yet again, but I didn't have the heart to choose between two). I may poke my nose back into FF14 one day, not sure when that day will be however. Maybe when I replace my really old desktop or when my work-horse I am sitting on right now gives out.. or maybe even sooner. I have no clue. I think my biggest frustration came when my friend couldn't play and in order to play her graphics had to look so fuzzy that it was like staring at a PSX game. (and you couldn't read the letters). But eh. I did enjoy it don't get me wrong, not here to complain, I swear. Just-- checking in on things and maybe explaining a bit why I am like, never on. ._.

Yay, increased chat limit, new stuff to try and figure how to make and... Maybe I can locate me down some goblins like in the good ol' days so I can turn right around and try and run away from that darn bomb which actually may do some good! Let me tell you, those goblins in FF11 had one heck of a pitching arm.

An Important Announcement for FINAL FANTASY XIV Fans
Koti Nexus replied to Ravirr's topic in FFXIV News
Yeah, the change over of people had me dropping my jaw going, "Holy D@mn." when I read the email in my inbox and in away, though I am still glad to see them trying.. This utterly worries me now. I have been in a game that has changed hands 4 times, one of those hands about destroyed the game and its image. I know SE is doing whatever they can to save the game, they will try to at least, but what attracts me to the game is its difference in play style and outlook on the MMORPG field. That it isn't another WoW clone and its something different. So, if these guys change up the game to much, I probably will leave, and I will be one of those odd minorities that will leave because I dislike where they lead the game. But as always, majority speaks. My biggest concern when I start seeing this is though-- Is that they may suddenly decide to just shut down the game. For good. That is what scares me and that is what worries me. -
I found it rather nice they brought up the RP, cause at least that means they acknowledge us still and they do give us a bit of a head nod. Even if you were right, it was for a laugh, but even in a laugh, it is nice.
-
I have to admit that them pulling that move also surprised me. Came home from my trip to New Mexico (<3) back over here to Arizona, and found out in my email that they were extending the play and was all: "o_o really?" I'm glad to see it because it at least shows, along with the updates that SE is trying to listen to the players, keep them, and help make the experience of the game a fun one. I approve of any company that is willing to talk straight with the players, instead of hiding in their card-board boxes like Solid Snake going, "Problems, what problems, there is no problems!" So actually them admitting they have problems, them trying to fix the issue quickly as they can, and willing to give up free 30 days over and over till they get it right.. Has earned them to me a great deal of respect. I'm also glad to see the addition to the companies, though I am not 100% sure how that is going to work along side Linkshells. I am guessing a company is a group of linkshells? :? However the fact companies get their own buildings and ships is sweet. X3 Though I still love to see them give us players our own housing. >.> Well, time to go bother SE about housing, making furniture, and having more then a 'square' home.

One month later: the pros and cons of FFXIV.
Koti Nexus replied to Satisiun's topic in FFXIV Discussion
Yeah, I am not sure why people want killers of anything honestly. I admit, I don't like WoW, but I also don't like allot of MMORPGs and never understood the hype on WoW along with it. A game is a game, that is the way I see it. Each game has their own flavor, like a piece of fruit, some sorta taste the same, but they are not. So, I find it silly when people want to kill another MMORPG, since you know, there is different strokes for different folks, and each of us have our own likes and dislikes. I actually about got into an argument on Vent with a gal who was bad mouthing FF14 and I said it wasn't that bad if you don't mind the change in style of playing (since I find FF14 very radical from the normal MMO, which is great to me!), and she about chopped my head off cause I actually liked FF14. Its like, heaven forbid you tell a wow player you found the game boring and mind-numbing.
