I'm on my way in right now!! Loading Gilgamesh!

Wow Flapjack, that was beautiful. I confess that I share many of the same sentiments. Although I cut my teeth on FFVIII. Up until that point I was all about adventure games and Madden. I had never played an RPG. Then I saw the TV commercial for FFVIII with the jaw dropping opening FMV. I went to my local video game store and bought a copy with no idea of what Final Fantasy was all about. I booted up the first (of four?!) discs and sat down. The first chance I got to actually do anything, Quistis was asking for my name in the infirmary. I didn't know I was supposed to be role-playing so I did what I always did when I was asked my name. I put in my own real name. After that, everyone would refer to me by name. Whether it was to go to Timber and argue with Rinoa or try and save Selphie's Garden. It was a revelation. In short I felt like I was actually playing a part in how the events unfolded. By the time I got to the end my perspective on what video games could be was forever changed. I've played every FF since then (with the big exception of FFXI). Nowadays, whenever I heard the level up sound bite in the betas I still feel the same sense of excitement I felt when I was a kid. It's been 14 years since that fateful day and I am confident that I will continue to feel the same connection to this series that I started in Balamb Garden. In FFXIV I see the potential for me to continue making a difference in the world, except that this time, when I go out there, other people will acknowledge my presence there. I'm so ready.

Posting is looking good, Kayle! It's all coming together. Kudos on planting the seeds of a stellar FC. I have no doubt it'll become something special. And I was there at the beginning. 8-)

No worries Bloodwillow. Your Roe is a warrior of few words. I'll be grinding FATE's out there too. Somebody's got to obsessively grind. I hear the call.... Awesome, Riken. Look forward to meeting you in-game if you get the chance!

Thanks for the assist, Belfor. Much appreciated from your fine organization!! We'll return the favor sometime! You had to come up with a tale to tell.
-
Hmm I think I need to hear this.

Hi Yskonyn! Welcome to the site and the game. Hopefully this one sticks when you throw it on the wall, eh? No worries on RP pedigrees here. Everyone is welcome and we're all glad to have you. Any questions please don't hesitate.

They are fingers to be admired. Even though the sea-foam has dried, the memories remain. No reason not to create new ones soon! The pearl, she is yours.

Sunday, 4pm east will be the date. So everyone can get a decent shot at airship status. Sorry for the confusion!

Absolutely we are, Eraziel! Thanks for considering us. I promise we will do our best to live up to your expectations! Shoot me (Desmond Aryll) or Kayle Delwyn a tell in game to receive one shiny new pearl! Be sure Naudha will be very welcome with us! Can't wait to make it official in-game. We've got lots planned in the very near future so keep your dial locked to this station!

Hey All! Driftwood Coast is organizing a little event set tentatively for Sunday the 25th, 4pm est (1pm pacific) in Crescent Cove. It's in Western Thanalan, halfway between Horizon and Vesper's bay. We will gather round a metaphorical fire and as a way to get acquainted with each other, we'll continue the time honored tradition of sharing a story. We'll be taking turns and spinning a yarn, be it dramatic or humorous. Hopefully by the time everyone's had a turn we will have made some connections and forged new friendships. So if you find yourself in Ul'Dah and want to meet some fellow Rp'ers for a lovely time, be sure to swing by and bring your best parable. We'll be shouting in the OOC Coalition channel so keep your ears open for the updates! Edit: added in the date for the event.

Welcome to our little group and the game, Talathar! Glad such an experienced little lalafel will grace us with her presence. Talathar sounds like an ernest little gal and we'll be lucky to have her in-game. I find that writers make wonderful Rp'ers as you can't help but consider motivations for the things your character does and it makes for a very well-rounded character. Hope to see you around the aetheryte, if you see me in-game please stop and say hello, I'll do the same!

I missed a preorder once at Gamestop and never picked up the game. The next time I went in there I was told I had $5 on my account and that I could set it to any upcoming game. Granted this was about 18 months ago. But I don't think they will penalize you for not going through with the purchase. Worst case scenario, you lose $5. (shrug) No worries you should be fine.

To each their own. There's tons of options for LS/FC's already so it stands to reason you'll find any combination of uses soon if not now. 8-)8-)

(( Thank you! I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this, it was exactly the experience I was looking for. Truth be told it's my first thread RP, and it was an immense pleasure to play with all of you. We hope to have more in the future, along with some in game RP events, so stay tuned! )) Ditto! I'm a newcomer around here and it was a real treat that this little idea we threw around turned into a story that gave me (and Desmond) more than I expected. I feel like we both made some friends along the way. You guys consistently surprised me with your choices and writing and I really don't think one person could've written out a better scene, which says a lot about your skills as writer's and actors. Kudos! And as Doc said, stay tuned because you haven't read the last of us!

Does your character have any particular accents? Might help to give the dialogue (and cursing) some color. How about older curse words that are outdated? Such as arse instead of- you know. Worse comes to worse, make em up. I say Frak all the time now.

I'm happy it worked out for you, Covikt. -
Might Want to Wait to Add That Beta Key!

Can't speak for others but I went over that page more times than I care to admit. There was no mistake. At least not on the preorder key page. -

What about trying Gamestop Customer Service. Explain the situation. If you are a Rewards member they have a record of all the games you've bought/sold at gamestop. That would include your preorder. Based on that, they would have to give you the key as it's the way to get the preorder bonuses that Gamestop offered. -
Might Want to Wait to Add That Beta Key!

Hey guys for the record I followed these steps and it worked. I'm currently downloading the client on PS3. I did have a discrepancy in the profile section. No preferred language at all. I hit save. Manually went back to login screen for the code, logged in and got my Early access code on the first try. -

Where did you get the code from? If its a store they could maybe look it up for you. Same deal with an online store. Worth a try. -
Where do you see that, 'Active service accounts'? I see FFXIV under my account, but the registration on it is when I signed up for 1.0 (2010). I have FFXIV under my Active Services too. I wasn't in 1.0 and I still have not been able to input my 18 digit code.

I agree with this. I had a basic idea of who my character was but participating in Rp's here has made him more three dimensional. Try it out!
