13uddy Posted July 30, 2015 Share #76 Posted July 30, 2015 I'm actually quite envious of some of the jobs you all have. With all of my health issues, all the medications I'm on and other things, I don't really have a proper career. I just do little odd jobs here and there. It may not allow me to live in "luxury", but while I may not have everything I want, I have what I need. But I spent a few years in my late teens and early 20's homeless, so just having a roof over my head and food to eat makes me feel very, very lucky. Link to comment
Reiner Dorn Posted July 30, 2015 Share #77 Posted July 30, 2015 I am the Technical and operations manager at a Performing Arts Center. Have been doing this for a bout 5 years after leaving the US Navy It's quite a good job, and I love working in the arts as a playwright as well. Can confirm coolness of job, and intend to walk around theater area with a clipboard in a suit and fool people into thinking I belong in the near future. One day. I'll try and have a name tag made, even to say flynt Knoltros and see how many people we can fool Link to comment
Aoi Fukiku Posted July 30, 2015 Share #78 Posted July 30, 2015 Medical administration float. I work between 23 offices and a main hospital which means I need to memorize 23 different ways to do the same thing since every office is different. I handle medical records, scanning, filing, billing, referrals, appointments, scheduling imaging, and more. I get extra pay over other med secs to keep me in the pool so I don't decide on a home office because good floats are hard to come by. Link to comment
Stormwind Posted July 30, 2015 Share #79 Posted July 30, 2015 Formerly a Systems technician, bumped into a Sys Admin role following some heavy "organizational restructuring" for a regional bank. Double to triple the work load, maybe a quarter of the pay. I like my job, but dammit I really need to get paid more for it. Link to comment

LadyRochester Posted August 3, 2015 Share #86 Posted August 3, 2015 I'm a psychology student. I seek to get a doctor's degree eventually, specifically in the areas of clinical and forensic psychology. I otherwise don't work, unless going to the gym counts. I'm very lucky to be in a financial situation where getting a job isn't necessary, but I might try working as an English tutor next year. 1 Link to comment

Oscare Posted September 11, 2015 Share #93 Posted September 11, 2015 You all work such cool jobs. I'm so jealous. I'll kindly escort my talentless butt out. As for myself, I'm a jobless high school senior student. I can at least share my plans; I'm planning on studying environmental science at Oregon State University, my goal is to be a conservationalist, working on forestry, fishieries, parks, and other natural areas! Spethah Posted September 11, 2015 Share #97 Posted September 11, 2015 I'm classified as unfit for work for an indefinite period of time due to mental disorders and a bad leg. What do I do irl if I don't work? I either play games (like FFXIV) or I go out for walks to recover my bad leg. I try and keep myself as active as possible without stressing myself with my disorders, as pushing myself does give me panic attacks. Link to comment
Maril Posted September 11, 2015 Share #98 Posted September 11, 2015 I am unemployed at the moment, but going to a jobinterview on thursday. I am an officemouse as I call it, no formal education but I did about 1½ years of unpaid internship whilst waiting to get approved in a part of the system that allows people with disabilities to work on low hours but still get paid enough to live. The hopefully upcoming job will be at a combined office/warehouse, should be pretty interesting. I also do a bunch of volunteer work giving talks about autism, and I am soon starting a course to learn how to construct courses to support people with mental vulnerabilities, which focuses on teaching people with personal experience to help people who are new to the system and suchlike. Looking forward to it ^^ Link to comment

Seriphyn Posted September 11, 2015 Share #100 Posted September 11, 2015 Atmospheric research for the USAF; particularly in the area of international nuclear treaty monitoring. Well, hello there, 9S100! I'm a USAF F-16 avionics technician from London, although I was educated in Scotland in History and International Relations. I'm from a privileged background and joined the AF literally because I felt like it, but have found myself to be rather overqualified. People enlist in the Air Force to get a college degree; I enlisted because I had a college degree and felt like I had no real life and work experience! The next time I post here, I hope to be an officer. But I might not be playing in FFXIV at that point, because for all the enlisted military members you meet online in MMOs, there are zero commissioned officers! Link to comment
