Where: Ward 4, plot 11 of the Goblet. 

When: 8th of January at 8PM GMT/9PM CET/12PM PST/3PM EST 

For how long: Depending on the auctions, anywhere from 2-4 hours.

 

In the name of fun, roleplay and the joy of meeting new people, we're having ourselves a second installment of A Friendly Date Auction. The twist to this auction is that there are two kinds of auctions: 

Friendly dates, and romantic dates. 

Friendly dates are for those who want to meet a new person with the possibility for a new great friendship. 

Romantic dates are for those who haven't found the one yet, but is wanting to give one more shot at a new romantic adventure. Who knows, maybe the Heavensturn will bring the luck your character needed? 

Food, drink and good company is guaranteed, and we warmly welcome anyone who wishes to stop by. 

 

No real gil will be used for the auction.  Instead, when arriving to the auction, those interested in bidding will be allowed to exchange a small donation of IC gil, to what end they feel fitting, for 100 tokens that will be used for bidding. The tokens are finite and personal, meaning that you will not be able to get additional tokens, and you will not be able to use other people's tokens to bid with. A person can bid on as many auctions as they want until their tokens run out. 

All donations from the event will go to the Sunny Futures fund. 

 

If two or more people bid 100 tokens on one person then the choice falls to the person who is being auctioned off to decide who they want to go with. It is up to the individual if that is worth the risk. 

 

We encourage everyone to pick up tokens, also people who are otherwise being auctioned off. We'll attempt our best to make sure there are enough people to bid on. And speaking of:

While her tastes range towards the feminine, males are still welcome to try their luck, and will still receive a delightful time.

Brief description: A sight to behold, W'gahr "Luper" Lupercal is by his own statement, the best bartender in all of Eorzea. Always one to charm, any date spent with this guy is sure to be interesting¨

Brief description of your character: Raven is an easy-going Hellsguard who, as her name would suggest, loves a good laugh. Whether it's arm wrestling at the local pub, fishing on the open sea or contemplating life with a bottle of rum, you can be sure your evening will be anything but dull if you spend it with her.

Brief description of your character: Torhe's most likely just your usual, run-of-the-mill booksmart Arcanist, probably. Intelligence is a plus but failing that, an inquisitive nature and a desire to see just what's around that next corner, or over that next horizon, or what the source of that sinister, eerie glow emanating from deep within that mouldy old stone pit malms underground is, are traits just as commendable to this curious Keeper!

Brief description of your character: Lady Kosetsu Kensei! Greatest of errant swordswomen! Bearer of the the honour of her fallen mentor! Silent as a stuffed moogle!

Kosetsu may not be the talkative type. Or the word type at all, really - which is why her student and sublime servant has written this advertisement in her stead.* But what she lacks for in speech she makes up for in efficiency and overt staring! Plus, when she does speak, she's got a tendency to the 'thees' and 'thous', which is pretty neat. And if you're ever in need of a shrouded lady of mystery to dispense justice at your side, look no further!

* Bidding will be cut off at 3 minutes, unless someone has reached 100 or the floor goes stale sooner 

* Arranging the dates is between you and the person you won, so please write down their names and friendslist them so you can make plans 

* Remember if you're up for auction, you can still bid on someone else! 

* Everything gets tracked in a spreadsheet, so if in doubt you can always prod me or one of my helpers for your token-counts 

* Tokens will be handed out by Ranic Iriq, who will be sat just behind the main area at a guild-leve counter. The Tokens will be purchasable ((IC Gil, No OOC.)) throughout the auction, but remember you only get 100 tokens for the entire night, so use them wisely.

I was mostly just watching without bidding, but one suggestion I'd have for the future is to try and space out the auctionees move evenly. It felt like there were mostly men for the first two hours, which led to the first few women who appeared getting 100 token bids very quickly. (It may have changed later, since I only stayed for about half the event though!)
