The Order of Ouroboros is a dualistic free company/linkshell made by mages, for mages. Initially founded after the War of the Magi, the OoO was recently recreated to promote the responsible use of magic, as well as secure any dangerous artifacts/haunted gemstones/people. Members of Ouroboros can be anyone, anywhere, who is able to assist with their mission statement. 

 

The Linkshell is purely IC, and functions like a secret society. Ouroboros is now a Free Company, with a medium plot in the Goblet (Ward 10, Plot 12) that acts as their secret base of operations. Please note that Ouroboros likes to adhere to the game's lore as much as possible, we roleplay on a medium to heavy basis and would like to create an active, synergised friendly group of roleplayers.

So, at first I saw this and thought "Oh god. Another secret society." But as I read on, I have to admit I got pretty interested. What OoO does is pretty much what my character, Abodo, has been doing since 2.0's launch all by his lonesome, so it's definitely up my alley.

 

Unfortunately, OOC my schedule has been a bit hectic lately, and IC Abodo is missing and my FC and my alt are following a trail of Lovecraftian bread crumbs to find him, so I won't be able to delve into whatever cool ideas you and your group have for a bit, but I'll definitely be in touch. This is something I'd be into exploring with some new folks.

I've had a good read of your wiki and Abodo doesn't seem that crazy, heh. Thanks for the interest in the linkshell! You're welcome to come and go at your own leisure, the linkshell is simply a resource for roleplay to do with magic. We want to create a place where you can jump in and out of plots and have your characters meet and befriend like-minded wielders of magic. Once things calm down for you and Abodo is found, we'd love to have an IC meeting to get him introduced to the Order. ^^ Thanks again!

Bumping, the main post has been updated!

 

We're now an FC as well as a linkshell, so those who don't have a home to call their own can join us if they so wish, whilst characters that are settled in another company can remain there and simply join in activities via the linkshell. We managed to snag ourselves a medium plot in the great housing rush of Balmung 2k16 (which your character can't really visit unless they're a member but you are more than welcome to snoop around OOC) is at the Goblet Ward 10, Plot 12. 

 

We currently have several plotlines underway, one that involves stealing a rather dangerous and heavily protected artifact from an irresponsible owner and going on a few expeditions in search for rare potion ingredients. Hi! Thanks for the reply. Regarding 'made up science guff', we like to stick to the lore as much as possible without dampening our creativity. We prefer to use things and possible plot points that already exist within the game. And about our alignment... we're a mix of good and neutral sort here, some more evilly inclined than others. You'll just have to figure that out for yourself, heh!

I have a character that is edging on the brink of curiosity about magick and aether, as the possibilities have just recently opened up to her. But she doesn't even know a basic spell as of now.

Hi Lutra! Order of Ouroboros takes mages of all abilities, as long as they have the right attitude and an eagerness to learn how to use magick and aether responsibly. We already have a few students amongst our ranks, so your character would be taught along with them, plus she would be able to ask the more experienced mages for help/tutoring and use the plentiful resources (tomes, research, etc.) at hand too.

Hi folks, we had a bunch of people interested in joining the linkshell which is great! We're currently working on getting those members introduced to the Order of Ouroboros and ready to partake in our activities. 

 

Just bumping as we are now looking to recruit FC members more so than linkshell members just to help bolster our ranks and create a solid base for our company. An update~ We have a few exciting events lined up for the next couple weeks (involving Black Mages and a spell gone wrong!) and we've taken on a bunch of new fantastic, beautiful and amazing members for the Order of Ouroboros.
