Rinette Posted February 23, 2014 Share #577 Posted February 23, 2014 Clover: do you edit your screenshots per chance or are you just a really good screenshotter/photographer? My graphics are set to Maximum but I don't think they ever come out as crisp and saturated. The closest you can get to changing in game look is using SweetFX. I would explain it but I'm not that great at it so I would just Google it. EDIT My contribution to the thread. There are before and afters in my Imgur album in my signature if anyone is interested in seeing the differences. Here's what my SweetFX settings does: Without for reference: Link to comment

Same with the Photoshop filter. Love these screenshots, though! Link to comment

Same with the Photoshop filter. Love these screenshots, though! The settings for SweetFX are completely customizable, that's the great thing about it. I choose settings that were warmer though so lights are a bit more red. The biggest reason I use it is for the sharpen option, whenever I turn it off everything looks blurry and I can't stand it. Not that I'm trying to sell it to you or anything! Link to comment

Clover Posted February 24, 2014 Share #585 Posted February 24, 2014 Haha, Merri and K'mih would get along. I love seeing characters' charisma reflected in screenshots, very nice job! Rinette: I used SweetFX in the past, until my comp died and I had to reinstall FFXIV. If I have to choose... I guess I've come to prefer vanilla FFXIV since it's softer, but SweetFX did really wonderful things at some maps. Oh! I've heard that FFXIV's graphics will improve with the DX11 version @_@ I can't wait to see the changes, if any. This kind of update always makes me very excited. Link to comment
Aldotsk Posted February 25, 2014 Share #586 Posted February 25, 2014 I'd really like to learn Clover and Merri's method of screenshotting and rendering these photos. Does SweetFX actually make a lot of difference by enhancing it's shadings and coloring? Link to comment
allgivenover Posted February 25, 2014 Share #587 Posted February 25, 2014 You can tweak sweetFX as much as you like, so it can be as little or as much as you want. It's even got exposure and SMAA injection, etc. Link to comment

Does SweetFX actually make a lot of difference by enhancing it's shadings and coloring? Mine are actually taken with the in-game engine. No tweaks inside or outside of the game except for simple cropping. Just good luck with the lighting, I guess! :> Link to comment

Clover Posted February 28, 2014 Share #599 Posted February 28, 2014 Edgar, I saw you at the event, but your character was busy talking to someone else, so I was afraid to approach *shot* (not like Clover actually approaches people, but...) I want to thank the people who organized this event. It was a lot of fun! I took an obscene amount of screens, here are some of them. Clover's friend Xydane Vale was the person who invited her. And then... it rained. I hope to post more screens tomorrow! I got to see many awesome and interesting bishounen characters; it was a very nice experience for me. Link to comment
