Also, as a bonus, random grayscale sketchy version of Gharen before I jumped to colors. (I don't normally go grayscale first. I just randomly went with grays today while sketching. :V)

I do too! I don't know why. I think it might be because he looks even more ragged and forlorn in the grey scale one than he does in color. I'm secretly tempted to fix up the hair in the back so it'll look nicer.

For me...

I think the grey is colder and so appear to have a more rugged quality that matches the hard life the face has seen. The colour brings warmth that softens that ruggedness.
