Seriphyn Posted October 17, 2014 Share #53 Posted October 17, 2014 Yeah, I don't like the possibility that rogue/ninja will have better visual effects than monk or dragoon. How is that justified in terms of being consistent in design? All classes should have the same amount of aesthetic flair. Also yeah, looks like the Garlean succession war is over, and there's a new emperor. I also agree with coat wondering where the hell the sultansworn are in cutscenes. And I will keel over and lol if they put Lolorito in with Adeledji as a sidekick to him being the new main villain. My poor rp. Link to comment

Dragoons have high-impact visual effects (disembowel, fffff), the monk's visual effects are quite more attuned to the toon's model (see: Dragon kick!). Ninjas look a little more elemental, with mudras included. It's really subjective regarding which effects are 'better', but to me all of them look fine. If Lolorito becomes a story bad, all the better for you though! MORE RP. THE CONFLICT. THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. The -DRAMA-. Link to comment

K'nahli Posted October 17, 2014 Share #58 Posted October 17, 2014 Well, I need to stop reading this thread for it's lack of spoiler tags but the update looks amazing and I am looking forward to trying that top that the Roeg with the bandana is wearing for a more, simple look for my miqo'te. Also that census was very fun to look through. I am both very surprised and very happy to see that Adders have the most members. I thought that most people didn't like neither them nor the Elder Seedseer as much as the others because she wasn't cool and epic enough for their tastes, haha. Gridania is respected! o.o/ Link to comment
OttoVann Posted October 17, 2014 Share #59 Posted October 17, 2014 Awww shit if Lolorito becomes bad doesnt this make Syndicate bad by association? Or at least worse than a lot of people already view it? Time for Otto to make his home in Lavender Beds a bit more used than it currently is. Link to comment

Coatleque Posted October 17, 2014 Share #68 Posted October 17, 2014 Hey! A dress for paladins! Why? Why is this still okay? Ever since the Judgement set in WoW I have been disgusted with Paladins in dresses. Why must this still be a thing? Don't get me wrong, I would be okay with Crofte wearing some kind of armored dress as formal attire. I've tried matching the spring dress with the Gallant set, but it just doesn't look right. Free-flowing cloth is NOT good for combat situations Link to comment

Sounsyy Posted October 17, 2014 Share #70 Posted October 17, 2014 Free-flowing cloth is NOT good for combat situations Totally agree. But I seem to recall a dev post a while back explaining the origins of the Allagan armor. Basically, it said that the armor we get out of Binding Coil is what Allagan foot soldiers would have worn, whereas the High Allagan armor was something that would've only been worn by Officers, Royals, and people of stature serving in the army. While that dev post was way before 2.4's time obviously, maybe we can draw from that and hypothesize that Final Coil's armor were "ceremonial" outfits, possibly? Maybe something that Allagan Royals only wore to like military balls or coronation ceremonies or weddings, etc. Cuz I mean... look at those sets. All of them are long flowing robes, with minimal armor present. The armor that is present is ornate and polished. Bits of gold and such are inlaid into the fabric. The Paladin is wearing what looks like a crown for instance, while the BLM has some strange looking hat. And don't forget the Bahamut wing motif. That's definitely not functional. Link to comment

Melkire Posted October 17, 2014 Share #73 Posted October 17, 2014 Hnnng. Quicksand in Qarn HM and high/low tide in Sastasha HM... I'm suddenly excited for the new dungeons. Hnnng. Dat Rogue Thief. Hnnng. More Royalist vs. Monetarist conflicts in the MSQ. My body is ready. Looks like NIN's going to piggyback with Monk when it comes to armor. It's more the other way around: Monks are forced to piggyback off other classes' models and textures. If it's not a DERP EYEPATCH, AF gear / myth recolor, the Rank 38 PvP Hawkwing set, or Coil gear, most pieces of post-50 Monk gear are slightly altered models/textures. See the past six dungeons: Fistfighter's is a slightly modified Hussar's, and Divine Hero is a slightly modified Divine Light (WITH EYEPATCH). Bards and Dragoons at least got something unique in Shikaree's and Divine Wisdom. Link to comment
