[align=center]One and all is invited to come give thanks and hear inspirational words in regards to Menphina.

Menphina is keeper of the twin moons and the goddess of love. She commands the element of ice and is associated with the second moon of the Eorzean calendar. Menphina is the sister of Azeyma, and the divine lover of Oschon. She is most often depicted as a maid carrying a round skillet. Her symbol is the full moon. [/align]

 

[align=center]Event starts in Coerthas outside Camp Dragonhead (X:25 Y:16) on Saturday February 21th at 5:00PM Eastern EST (2200 UTC).

Low level people outside of (20 and lower) will need to advise beforehand if they need passage to the venue.

 

Guards will be available to help all pilgrims to the event safely.

 

Pilgrims will be walking through dangerous frigid lands for quite some time as we walk and stay outside in Coerthas! Many layers, coats, and furs are required!

 

For Pilgrims:

• During the performance, pilgrims are asked to be silent in the public channels. Emotes with /em, /say, and /yell are asked to be held off until the main performance is over.
  
• Animation and sound emotes are welcomed! Please just turn the text off on them during the performance.
  
• In lieu of reacting in /em and /say, pilgrims are encouraged to form parties with their friends and groups to react to each other in /p - that should help with the text bloat and keep the reactions more personal and immersed with the main people pilgrims want to interact with.
  
• Anyone willing to host a "during performance" party for those who come on their own please contact me so I can find you at the event start and get people together to interact and meet. If a group of friends has room in their party and wouldn't mind hosting a new addition, that would be wonderful too. We'll sort it out at the start of the event.
  
• After the performance, everyone is welcome to use /em and /say and can change parties as wanted.

Music and stories from some special guest speakers and bards will highlight the evening. After the presentation, everyone is encouraged to mingle, give prayers and thoughts, or partake in the smaller congregations.

 

Blessings will be given for love and devotion to pilgrims as either singles, couples, or in groups.

 

Entire main event is planned to last a two hours with hosts staying around afterwards for free-form role play.[/align]

 

[align=center]~While this is a pilgrimage in celebration of one of the Twelve, really would like to express the theme and environment of this event is to come together and have an inspiration evening for each other and on reflection. This night will not have strong overtones of worship and ceremony.~[/align]

One big thing that I do need are people who are willing to give blessings and speak to pilgrims after the ceremony. It's mostly an improv job and I'll try to space everyone out so the influx of text isn't too overwhelming.

I know, Menphina likes it cold! But this time we're not going inside to be by a comfy warm fire. It's going to be all outside. 

 

The cliffside view is amazing, though, and even in the blizzard weather it's magically beautiful.

 

Plus for the RP feel, there shall be a magical see-through tent set up at the spot, so everyone will end up being warm enough to survive for hours without getting frostbite.

 

Finally, Menphina. We will be there! Yes, -we-, as in Kiht and a buttload of Miqo'te. Please look forward to it.

This is very exciting! It should be a real treat with how many people sharing stories and songs and celebrations!

After speaking with a lot of people online, decided to go a bit of a different route with the blessings afterwards. There are going to be so many performances that after people can share their own promises and blessings after the ceremony to Menphina's stone, that way there isn't a line of people waiting and the event ends up being five hours with the main cluster of people.

 

Going to ask around for a few people to be kind of the 'example' in a way to come up first and set the bar of sharing a promise of love (platonic, romantic, any style) to either Eorzea (fellow man), a specific person, or even a particular group.

 

People as always are free to ask for their own personal blessings from Menphina at the stone so it should turn out to have a nice view. I'm going to try to get in a good spot for some nice screenshots of people gathered together there.

i like the idea of open prayers; when explained this way, it sounds more like out-loud wishing (similar to a wishing well) which would be fun to listen in and see who's wanting to get more involved with who romantically 8D (i know not all of them will be that....but still.....romance is fun to watch >u< )

I've been asking around, but I'll throw it here too.

 

If a group of 4-8 would like to do something a little more spiffy for the magical ward to keep everyone warm at the pilgrimage drop me a line.

 

I'm still waiting to hear back from a few people and Valentine's has been kind of grabbing people sporadically so I wanted to keep options open or maybe pair up some folks.

 

Also tentative plan notes for everyone involved will be going out this weekend! :love:

Sent out notes for the event to all the participants. We have a dozen performers lined up, a lot of well-trained guards, and I had a great encounter with a elezen who asked along the road about the pilgrimage ICly. (thank you!)

 

I am still looking for a group of magi/arcanists for a little display early on when we get to the venue. I'll ask around online some more, but if even if there's someone secondary that is known online please drop my name with them or vice versa.

 

Connections ICly there's a small bulletin talking about moon-shaped trinkets and announcements being passed around. If anyone would like more ICly interaction beforehand drop me a line so we can make that happen for you and your character.

 

Lower level people if you need passage to Coerthas and Camp Dragonhead beforehand so you can teleport to the starting point also let me know! My chocobo is loaded and ready to carry passengers!

Don't worry! These events have people who clear the path of mobs that could aggro onto you. I suppose the only difficult part would actually be getting to that starting area, but I'm sure folks would be willing to help with that.

 

... We really need to start a Draft Chocobo Taxi Service or something at some point.

 

And the Glacial Jacket is a good choice and tends to be relatively cheap to purchase. I'm still trying to get a screenshot of an entire set of every color of it. It's a dream of mine.
