lol Mac Lovin ^^ and Ultros! Okay.. okay.. I got another. "Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Homestar Runner and Bioshock. The story should use as a plot device!" No plot device. *** A sunken city. A group of adventurer. A little girl and her big robot. Two universes that have absolutely nothing to do with each other collide, all because Homestar decided to bring his friends on a cruise, drove the ship right into an island, and they all were stupid enough to take the elevator down. Actually, it was because The Cheat did it and then they all had to go after him. When they reached the bottom, they all faced a strange scenery of old-style broken decors and dead people. As The Cheat toyed around with all kinds of things, Homestar thought it was "awesum" and decided to go exploring. Marzipan of course went after him to hopefully keep him out of trouble, while Stronbad thought he mind find some surviving hot girls down there. Unfortunately for him, the only girl to be found was underage and accompanied by some kinda robot. Mistaking Strongmad for a madman, he moved toward him agressively and, of course, Strongmad got mad and punched it repeatedly. The battle that ensued was epic. In the meantime, Strongbad tried to approach the weird little girl, getting mixed success. Meaning he got his attentions but she seemed to want to poke him with a syringe instead of kissing him like he would have wanted. Amazed by the epic battle going on homestar was running around in circles cheering both combatants on. "Go Strongmad! Go big robot thingy! Go Homestar! Wait, no, I'm not fighting..." With a deep sigh Marzipan watched and finally turned to The Cheat. "Come on, The Cheat, let's go back home. This place is ugly and gloomy and I bet they don't even have tofu." *** >.> <.<

All. the. time. My character often don't do what I expect them to. It's like... once I created them, instead of being their controller I become their biographer. Instead of deciding what they do, they make me write what they do. Sometimes they do what I think they should and other times they just surprise me. The more I learn to know and understand them, the less it happens.

New FF14 Interview: What you hated in beta is here to stay

So... first thing I got I knew what it was was Quake and Chobits in the Future. o_O then I got Rock Band and Batman in a Haunted House. o_O But then... then I got something so awesomely ridiculous, I knew it was the right challenge for me! I give you... "Your challenge is to write crossover fanfiction combining Dexter and The Powerpuff Girls. The story should use murder as a plot device!" *** The man woke up with the feel of plastic wrap on his naked flesh. He didn't know what the hell was going on. It was dark, except from a lamp above him. Looking around, he saw the pictures of women he knew... his victims. As he started squirming, sweating in fear, Dexter smiled faintly, slowly standing up and moving toward him. "You know what's going to happen now, don't you?", he asked in this soft, emotionless voice of his. He wasn't emotionless however. Not now. He could already feel the deep satisfaction of what he was about to do. Of what he should have been about to do, anyway. At this moment, as the man begged for mercy, as Dexter was about to tell him he never granted mercy to any of "them", the door of this abandoned warehouse burst open with a mighty kick from a flying little girl dressed in green! "Leave him alone, murderer!" Dexter simply stared with his mouth opened. He was caught, he was finished... but what was going on? Not one, but three little girls, not even teenagers, just entered the room, dressed in red, blue and green, and they were -flying-. "Uhm... wait, I think the murderer is the one who's all wrapped up!" said the red one. "Is he naked? Ewww!", said the blue one. "Focus, Bubbles!, said the green one, looking quite mad. "Wait! No! He is the one who murdered those innocent women, I'm doing a public service here!", said Dexter, still trying to figure out what this was all about. "Oh okay, then, carry on!" "Yes, thanks for getting this one for us!" "Bye byes!" And just like that, the three flying girls left. Dexter remained standing there staring blankly at the door for at least 10 minutes before his victim finally managed to get his attention, begging for him to let him go. Dexter however, regained his focus and with it, his desire. He had an urge to sate, and a civic duty to perform. And so he did. It sure was the weirdest day in his entire life, and he could only hope that this would stay a secret, but somehow he felt he could trust them. Because the Powerpuff Girls are just nice like that. ***

Need to stop allowing for grievances at some point, tehre will always be some. Like, I could say that we should go for low as we could push it to medium all by ourselves and that spillover secondary servers are absolutely horrible and should be avoided at all cost because those stuck there will be cut off from the rest of us (possibly even cut off from their LS ) but, you know... if it happens it happens, we can't do anything about it.

New FF14 Interview: What you hated in beta is here to stay
Asyria replied to Aveline's topic in FFXIV News
Yes, that's what the stats are. ^^ I meant I don't know how exactly the maths go. Like what the caps are and stuff. then again, I shouldn't expect to know that in beta, I guess. -

You need Pie too! Pie is accuracy! Though I'll admit I'm not exactly sure how it all works out, but I know putting pts in Dex makes me miss less in melee, so I'm guessing Pie would help make your spells miss less, too. -

Stats don't influence mana, it's cause the caster classes get some mana regen abilities later on. -
The still-existing lack of /emote: concerned?
Asyria replied to Satisiun's topic in FFXIV Discussion
*nodnods* I was scared of the grinding and the being-completely-unable -to-solo aspects of FF XI, so while I was tempted, I never tried it. I'm not a soloer, but I'm one to only group with random strangers if absolutely necessary. So yeah I'm a stranger to FF XI terminology and stuff. ^^ -
The still-existing lack of /emote: concerned?
Asyria replied to Satisiun's topic in FFXIV Discussion
If it was in XI and liked, chances are it will be in XIV as well, since SE said that while they were looking at other mmo's, their main source of what-to-do's and what-not-to-do's was XI. -
Please sticky this before it ends up on Lounge page 2 like mine did.
-
I only seen one from veeeeeeeeeeery far as well, but right from the start, you hear from that Baderon NPC that airships seem to be the ever-present-in-FF Empire's big toys. Dunno how common they would be outside of that?
-
I haven't played FF XI, haven't seen those things in FF XIV and don't much much Star Trek... but I'm familiar with the kinda monsters from other FF's. ^^ Yay snurbles!

Noooooooooooo, not the tropes! I could lose the whole evening on that website! Okay.. 10, right? Shouldn't be too hard. Not actually getting Glacier Waif, myself Catgirl is a given, cause Miqo'te. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/CatGirl Action Girl, cause.. you know.. disciple of War http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ActionGirl Knight in Shining Armor, or at least dreams to be one. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... iningArmor She really is a Badass normal, or at least she's going to be when she gets high-level. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BadassNormal Let's Get Dangerous! might just happen, if she has no choice but to fight seriously, seeing as she normally only does so as her alter ego. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... g6pwfjt7ot Yep, that's just her, right there. Open-minded but nice and respectful. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EthicalSlut For Happiness. Because that's what she fights for. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ForHappiness Waif Fu is what she uses when she doesn't actually Get Dangerous. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/WaifFu Her Weapon Of Choice is a spear. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... deOnAStick And, of course, she has a secret identity! http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/M ... etIdentity There! I did 10! I win!

Asyria replied to Satisiun's topic in FFXIV Discussion
I thought you meant about custom emotes, too. ^^; But really the emote menu doesn't take much longer to use and it lets you see all that's available. -
I've been saying that for days!
-
I've been in many betas before and, usually, you don't need to re-download the whole thing. More like you download a "patch" that takes you from beta version to retail version. Other than that, for those orders, the release dates are when they are in stores, so if you were gonna get yours by mail, you likely will get it at (release+shipping time).

What the hell is a snurble? I like Oschon's Torch too! But I like my idea as well. ^^; I was originally trying to think of something actually found in game, but I just couldn't come up with anything .

The still-existing lack of /emote: concerned?
Asyria replied to Satisiun's topic in FFXIV Discussion
There's no emotes in Neverwinter Nights and yet the RP in some NWN persistent world is often better than anything I've seen in any mmo, except in the rarest and most precious cases. In NWN some people choose to simply type out emote and use quotes for speech. Others used asterisks to define emotes and simply typed out speech. I feel this 2nd option is best for mmo's. So.. Emotes 101: As simple chat is defined as "talk", simply uses asterisks to define emote. Mike Haracter: *The blue haired Miqo'te sharpens her spear, unaware of the presence behind her.* Someone Else: *Stealthily approaches and tickles Mike from behind!* O hai! See? No need for /emotes. It's very convenient, yes, but unnecessary. What IS necessary however, is giving us more friggin space to type! Can barely fill a single sentence in there! >.< P.S. There really is a Mike Haracter on Jecht. He's a big Roegadyn too, so he stands out. I lol'ed. -
How is the same small cool brand that you used to only be able to find in specialty shops now getting sold in a large chain store that appears in a ton of malls not going mainstream?
-
Well, if you want something more serious and catchy, how about... Linkshell Radio? While not being fully IC, you could always pretend that you're actually talking to each other with your linkpearls rather than with Skype, and things like that. In a way, you'd be immersed in the world of FF XIV, but you'd break the 4th wall about it. As if Eorzean were aware of being in a game (like we see in some cartoons and comics and such) and could talk about stats and mechanics and computers and it was normal. Like you were RPing yourselves in that context, pretending that. Would make RP look like just another fun way to do things, could be fun for you and for the listeners, and rather than explain, you'd just be showing by example, though in a pretty casual way. I dunno if I'm making my idea understandable enough. ^^; Anyway that's my last suggestion. P.S. "we aren't really going mainstream except for [insert 7-lines paragraph worth of exception]" isn't very convincing.
-
Come to think of it, I like it too... make that my official suggestion! In your first podcast under that new name, you can start by saying that the E actually stands for Eorzea as opposed to Erotic and that roelplaying is not cybering and anyone who thinks so is sick.
-
While I kinda feel offended with the whole QQing about villains" (seriously, who is QQing? we're just having fun here) I think Eva is right about the server name sequence being out of question. Whataver the guidelines, I ask only one thing. KISS. Which stands for Keep It Simple Stupid. We don't want people making mistakes and ending up having to reroll.
