however, how much of the coming to peoples aids is because it is just, and how much is because they most like wouldn't get paid if they didn't? As I pointed out above, you can't put an alignment tag on the entirety of an organisation, unless that organisation consists solely, or primarily of a particular type. Through the Ul'dah story quests for instance is the Lalafel (I forget his rank, though I think he is a captain?) in the Brass Blades who is completely unaware of the corruption within the Blades, and it mentor who was aware, but iirc he was shunned and removed to a distant posting (with the refugees) for being clean. So yes, there are members of the Blades who are there to do the right thing. The syndicate themselves are only 6 people, and we have only interacted with 4 of them, two of which seem clearly Lawful Evil.

I know that there are a fair few players that use SweetFX with their games to make it more stunning, but when I try, I can't get it to work. The part that I run into issues with is the d3d9.dll file, it causes the game to crash after hitting Play on the launcher. If i remove that from the Game folder then it loads fine, but obviously SweetFX itself doesn't work.

And as to the Flames not having a non-military arm, the only one (in the handy flowcharts at least) to visibly have a logistics arm is the Adders, though I do believe that the other two Grand Companies would have them, they would conceivably fail to function without them. That is not to say that there wasn't any sort of outsourcing to a group funded by the Syndicate however, I could imagine that as the Syndicate attempt to leverage some control over Raubahn in regards to military matters.

As has been proven, you are definitely not alone in this, there has in fact recently been an issue that I have been involved with, where it leaked OOC, and essentially ended up making the person involved not want to play. best advice I can give is to Blist them, and move on.

that sounds really cool, I know that we have in Ul'dah, both a Sultansworn presence, as well as those of us that RP as members of the Flames, so to have a similar thing going on for Limsa is fantastic

yeah, I would just ignore them, or do what I am doing, every other post I am trying to make it as clear as possible that I am not, in fact an adventurer, enjoying the luxuries that the Hourglass has to offer.

I tend to go by, the more powerful the spell, the more it hits Nako's reserves, the more quickly he is going to wear himself out, as for conjury/arcany (arcanima? I forget which), I tend to play that as mentally taxing as opposed to physically (due to it not draining yourself).

Each class is better at certain things than others, they each have their niche: Single target melee - Monk Single target ranged - Summoner Aoe melee - Dragoon Aoe ranged - Black Mage Support/utility - Bard And, as people have said, if a fight has intense dodging, a Black Mage's numbers will suffer horribly.

I could see RDM as a stance based job potentially. That said, whilst I don't call him a Red Mage, Nako'li is widely versed in the majority of commonly practiced magics, though unable to utilize the more powerful abilities available to pure students of an art.

I was wondering on peoples thoughts on observing other peoples roleplay, I am personally of the thoughts that if it is in say then it is typically public and if I am out of the way not interfering or distracting then it isn't much of an issue, as if it was private it would be done in party. opinions?

Askier can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the only reason why he's set to have the good guys ultimately win is because the scenario of the bad guys ultimately winning is impossible to actually RP out: it would mean that Ul'dah was successfully taken and destroyed by the main villain. Something like that would clash heavily with the perspective of any RPer not participating in the event. That's exactly why I went with the good guys win Tiergan. =D It was the same way when Askier went to set off the bomb. He had to be stopped cause Ul'dah was still going to be around in game afterwards lol. I am aware that you can't actually complete the objectives of the bad guys, and thats kind of the turn off for me, there is no proper sense of consequence, I mean, yes my character would feel there was, but I wouldn't be able to fully commit. but those of you that can, go for it, have fun.

I would potentially be interested, but most likely not if its a 'the good guy's will win, just the manner of their victory changes'

hi everyone, to those of you who signed up to the conjury lesson I apologise profusely, I was told yesterday that I have to be out by tuesday so spent the day moving stuff in ridiculous heat and didn't drink enough water, so I near enough passed out and have only just woken up. I will see if I can put something together for mid week after I am resettled at my parents. again, apologies.

Unfortunately, RL has gotten in the way, meaning I most likely won't be able to run anything tonight after all. I do apologise to anyone hoping to turn up.

Avalt, I am more than happy to work with you to work out an alternating schedule, alternatively, since I'm going to be sticking with Saturdays for mine, you could always run some on another day, or simply earlier/later. as far as I am concerned the more people taking part in it the better, besides, whilst Nako can cover the basics and some intermediate/more obscure stuff, I am sure you could cover the more advanced things?

I believe the sword you can get for turning in 5 of the Odin tokens is a Katana, although given it is single handed, it could be a wakizashi, though someone may confirm or deny for me whether there is in fact a difference in the way they are used (hand grips ec).
