  1. Nako knows thaumaturgy and occasionally teaches at the ossuary. He has ties to the guild but not the religious side of things.
  2. If there is no action involved: no "" If there is a mix, but action first: /em If there is a mix but speech first: "" But thats just how I do it.
  3. I see clio, me linking you my write up of the garlean titles on here wasnt good enough . But yes. Thanks for the rest of the books!
  4. Would be interested in her time as a bard, beyond that, rather indifferent as he is to most people. If he dug more and found out about the potential void connections he would attempt to either fix it if able, or remove the threat. permanantly.
  5. Wind-up Void Hunter Item Flavor Text Recomended locations to leave: under the bed or in the closest. Or anywhere else where there be monsters.... Use item to obtain Wind-up Void Hunter Minion Guide Commissioned by the Immortal Flames to combat the worrying rise of minature voidsent, they called upon one of their own to provide some, rather exacting, specifications as to what it may come across. Hover Text I'll send you back to the void, you Goobbue Shite - Nako'li Chalahko Behaviour: Independent Interactions: Will actively hunt any Voidsent minions. If they come into contact, will perform a mini ritual and dismiss them.
  6. That's not correct. We got three yukatas the last year; the other items (including the other three yukatas) were from 1.0 as far as I know. The dance also was from 1.0. And it's very good that they are adding old items, because there are many new players or new characters who didn't have the chance to get those items before. What's more, this year's event items are dyeable, unlike the last year. We didn't get a dance this year, but we recently got a brofist emote and we're getting new sitting poses shortly. Honestly, with all the things SE is giving us, seeing people complain about how nothing is ever good enough feels really unfair @_@ So I had to add my two cents; I love this year's event, and I appreciate all the hard work SE is putting into this game. Edit: What Edda said, haha. 3 Yukatas and the swimsuits with shorts were 1.0 the swimsuit sets that are manthongs were the first 2.x Moonfire faire event. the other 3 yukatas were the second 2.x Moonfire faire event. All of the events recycle stuff....
  7. Meh, I don't mind gated content, within reason. The story I feel should be, but things such as access to classes/races etc should not. As for the repetition of having to do it all again on an alt? A) I don't need one, I can do everything I need on Nako both RP and content. B) I would still be doing the same grinding/questing I did in any other MMO... so no change there.
  8. I would have thought they would open up and resolve the rest of unexplored Eorzea before taking us to a new location.
  9. People said I was mad when I announced my 127th addition to my family! I knew I was right! And Kaguya, I think it was primarily just a statement that they had been sad back then, not that they were still sad.
  10. But, it isn't april fools? The live letter that recently came out has minion battles in it, located at the Gold Saucer. Yes, but it was first announced as an april fools joke, similar to the Vianga race.
  11. That was my point. Even someone using a simpler use of language can get across IC inteligence. The point was gotten across in both versions.
  12. I believe that's a rather simplistic, and extreme example of what I intended, so lets try that again. I am not a master thaumaturge. I cannot cast magic, nor do I know how to do it. Because its magic that does not exist in this world. However, I can portray my character as being inteligent in it. Nako'li closes his eyes and digs deep within the internal wellspring of his aether. Drawing it through the focus in his staff he forms a glowing orb of fire, which he proceeds to throw at Warren. vs Nako'li concentrates on the aether within himself and casts a fireball at Warren. or Thaumaturgy is the act of contemplating on the internal, and using the power within oneself to manifest aether as an outside force. vs Thaumaturgy draws on ones internal aether.
  13. Yes it is. Due to many players being in school it seems best for them. And before anyone gets in a tizzy yes I know gs is saturday, but I believe I starts after this event ends so there should be no overlap. Theres room for more then one event on sat especially one like this which is once a year. Itll be fine. GS starts at 10 Erik
  14. Either you are not getting your point across, or you are contradicting yourself. While both posts support your belief that one is limited by their roleplaying ability, the following thoughts are rather contrasting. I have little personal interest in your explanation - this post is merely for the sake of yourself and the rest of the thread. Thank you. And I don't see them as contrasting. You do not have to be inteligent to portray an inteligent person. As long as you can display it in your writing (read, get the intent across) then you can successfully do it. You are only limited by your writing. If you cannot display wit or inteligence through your writing = You simply need to get across what your intent is. Worded differently intent is the same.... If you cannot get the intent across, then you are not displaying wit or inteligence through the writing.....
  15. No one has censured anyone for any reason. I do not understand why this keeps coming up. Not everyone is going to agree with everything you do, not here and not in real life. So do what you want. No one is saying that you can't play whatever you want. No one has ever said that. Now, they've said, "I don't acknowledge that in my RP." And they've said, "This isn't backed up by the lore we have in the game." But no one has ever, ever - not even one damn time - said, "You can't play that because I say so." Ever. Not ever. No one is censuring anyone. Just because they don't agree with something you're doing does not mean they are censuring you. It means they don't agree with you. Which is something adults do all the time - not agree with each other. Doesn't mean anyone is being mean to anyone else. Doesn't mean that you can't do what you want. It means someone disagrees with you. That's it. That's all. That's literally all it is. Well, that was quite the overreaction to a rather unimportant statement. Also, you don't really know the experiences of everyone so to say no one has ever said a thing is only limited to you experience. Maybe you have not experienced it, but some of us have. Thing is, the comment on Censure keeps being brought up in arguments about lore, usually only when someone disagrees with someone. Typically targeted at a few certain people, so it is understandable that they would react in such a manner.
  16. Please explain to me then the difference in the statements then. I would rather learn as to how my intent got lost, rather than receive an off the cuff comment that adds nothing to the discourse.
  17. That sounds a little unfair though. Just because you don't know how to write something doesn't mean you're not welcome to try. A "slower" player should be allowed to play whatever they so choose to want to play instead of only sticking to concepts they know they can write without ease. As much as I love playing oblivious, silly, ridiculous characters, sometimes I want to break my own mold and go with something that is "claimed" to be "smart", even if I can actually write it worth beans. It's a learning process in my eyes. And they can, nothing is stopping them but their writing ability. You do not have to be inteligent to be able to write as an inteligent person. You simply need to get across what your intent is. I feel that is contrary to what the Op and Ignacious argued, though, and you yourself at the top of the quote pyramid, unless I'm misunderstanding. I cannot see how what I wrote was contrary to what I wrote at the begining.... In the first one I state that you are limited by what they can write. Which is the same point I made in the second quote of mine.....
  18. That sounds a little unfair though. Just because you don't know how to write something doesn't mean you're not welcome to try. 19. I agree with ignacious in the most part. You are limited by what you can write. If you cannot display wit or inteligence through your writing, then no one is going to believe your character witty or inteligent.
  20. *ahem* I believe that's 'misuse' In all seriousness I would like to echo the statements made before. If I can clearly understand what they are trying to convey, I leave it. Hells I make too many mistakes to go around correcting people. If, however, I cannot decipher it, then I ask them to clarify their intent. If they have asked in the past for corrections as they are learning the language etc, then I am likely to offer pointers.
  21. Nako can teleport. He is an accomplished mage. However... he sucks at it. Most people he brings with him loose their breakfast afterwards. He can just about keep his awareness but thats cause he's kinda used to it by now. He much prefers chocobo back though.
  22. Being fearleas is actually rather bad. Fear is a psycological warning message that says 'this could be bad'. People who ignore it tend to be insane, people who listen to it tend to be cowards, then there are those that listen to it, weigh up the odds and decide that they are decent enough odds. Realistically people wouldnt dismiss someone that is armed out of hand 'just cause they are an adventurer'. That person could still cause a world of hurt to them.
  23. The reason I tend to shy away from voidpowered goodness is that so far there havr been no examples of anything good coming from it. Nor anyone wielding it coming out the other end as a corrupted servant of its denizens. Until I see that categorically stated im not inclined to believe that we would get a job that can bend it to their will and still remain a 'good guy'. If they were manipulating the void, I believe they would be hunted for more than just their vigilante justice, and more heard of.
  24. This isnt the anniversary gig. That is next weekend.
