  1. okies for anyone interested the world is as follows: High Fantasy setting, so magic, dragons etc The Kingdoms (two on the mainland, one on each larger island) are at an uneasy truce after dealing with an elemental incursion, and each has an eye on the other's borders. The Primary Protagonists are from the Kingdom in the Southern mainland, which is typically rich verdant farmland, with the grand forest, and the Mountain Shield seperating it from the northern kingdom. The Northern Kingdom is mountainous, and full of rough ground. with little good farming land. The Eastern Island is your typical island nation, whereas the northern island is mainly forest, with a single mountain in the middle. Races found: PC's Elves, Dwarves and Humans, potentially others, will see how it goes. NPC's: Typical fantasy creatures (Dragons, Satyr, Merfolk etc.) don't want to go into too much detail yet, still fleshing it out, but if it sounds interesting enough to you, give me a shout . funnily enough, its the engine I'm using
  2. that'd be sweet. anyways, I present to you the first draft of the world map (the landmasses at least) http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff197/JesdenMartynov/RPG/map.png[/img]
  3. Did you mean potholder? Sheesh, you didn't carry much  I mean that I'm still trying to figure it out , the code when copied just came up in a code box.
  4. It isn't unreasonable, considering the info you gave about lion prides I knew when I was still in elementary school I have to question if you're really a biologist. "the fact that bloodhounds are the result of 1000 years of artificial selection by humans" Okay, so you're saying the miqo'te are too damn dumb to do that with their own bloodlines? Are you saying they're just mindless cats who wouldn't selectively pick the fastest, strongest, most capable, and adaptive traits to pass on considering how they keep track of their bloodlines? so then, given humans aren't mindless monkeys, why aren't we all Mesomorphs when that is the strongest, most capable and adaptive trait to have? surely we, as a species with a high intelect, would pick that trait to breed into ourselves?
  5. Personally, this is a part of Miqo'te culture that IS mentioned by the devs, so I see no issue with delving further, mating habits can and will change a culture by their very nature. Also, as I am playing a tribal Miqo'te, this is rather interesting to me. Will I run off with this new insight, or the help it brings to my RP and start forcing others to ERP with it? no, because I am not a douche, and don't wish to play like that, could others do so? yes they could, but those that do, probably would do so anyways. more thoughts on this to come when not at work.

  7. You must of put a lot thought in to that. good hear some one trying work around personality and body shape. a lot of it just sort of fell into place, As a tribal Miqo'te, it made sense that he would have some sort of mundane survival skills, its something I feel that you would develop in that sort of situation, plus, out of his family (not family group), he, his father and two of his sisters were the only ones to develop any affinity to the Aetheric, so if he wanted to do anything with his brothers, it would be mundane by default.
  8. in answer to those questions, I came up with the character, and then picked a class to suit. (I wanted to be a Miqo'te mage of some description), so I guess I picked THM as it seemed like a good starting point for Solo play, whilst still fitting within the characters aesthetic. I would say it fits the attitude I am taking with him, he's not scrawny by any means, but he's not super buff. Though he is a magic user, he believes in the quote (paraphrased) A strong mind requires a strong body, and a strong body requires a strong mind (can't find the actual quote). He has trained how to survive in the wilds without the use of magic, and will most likely take some mundane class to reflect that (most likely PUG/ARC), but certainly not a class that uses two handed weapons.
  9. Nako'li is starting as a THM, but will be whatever he is required to at the time, his aim being to master all weaves of the Aether.
  10. in my precious spare time, I'm going to be making a 16 bit role-playing game, using a wsiwyg creator (my graphical skills are not the greatest) however, I am opening up the floor for character/npc ideas to forever be immortalized within it. I'll post up details of the game universe soon, but just wondering if anyone would be interested in submitting anything for inclusion? Tim.
  11. Hey, just thought I would start showing off my drawings as I do them. I am not that great (hooray for the trace function in ArtRage), but this is getting me to learn to be better at drawing, so hope you like. First up is Nako'li himself http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff197/JesdenMartynov/nako.jpg[/img]
  12. I'm playing a Keeper, and if people wanted to form a small family group that would be awesome.
  13. given the naming conventions of the two, they would probably be syllabic languages rather, but that's just my view of it.
  14. I just thought I would add a disclaimer that Cards Against Humanity is not for the faint of heart, as we seem to latch onto certain cards and just use them a lot.... it tells you quite a bit about us I feel.. You know who you are.
  15. GIMP 2 is what I used for mine, open source goodness. though my sig itself isn't great
  16. steam: timkchapman now the only gaming platform i use.
  17. Unfortunately the quality of the sound file quite shocking, (a ridiculous amount of buzz) so brace yourself if your really want to listen to their angelic voices, and my deep bass tones. linky
  18. fair enough, I was simply going by what I had read in a different thread, I didn't get to dabble with Conjurer at all, so probably not as brushed up as I could be. so, if it does indeed equate to being knocked out, is there a lore reasoning as to why we rouse back at a crystal? or is it simply an unexplained mechanic?
  19. Right, I know a lot of people imply that someone's merely been knocked unconscious when they go down to 0 HP, and that Raise is simply rousing them, however, how do we explain the resurrecting at the crystals? its something that I've been wondering for a while now. This is more for people who limit the effectiveness of White magic in an RP sense, as those that view it as an equally powerful force to Black Magic probably have no issue with the binding of ones spirit to a crystal and resurrecting there due to us being different to the normal folk of Eorzea. Tim.
  20. thank you for the show of solidarity, I am sure I will find all the help I need to get through this. anyways, I'm Tim, a couple of you may have run across me at the saturday event on a similarly named Miqo'te (Nako'li's elder brother in fact). or on the Skype Chat/Mumble Server. whelp, pleased to meetcha!
