I assume it's polyamory because monogamy isn't a part of Keeper lifestyle (to the point where it's foreign to them) AND they exhibit love. So it stands to reason the Keepers (Males in particular) will love more than one person and everyone will be fine with that.

I always figured with the Seekers, it was less Emotional Bonding and more Breeding Rights. The Nuhn is the breeder, but emotional bonds are formed elsewhere.

I'm guessing the intent was to make her look like what Japan calls a "Bonkyu Bonkyu" girl. It's basically a girl with big boobs. However, the term is thrown around A LOT for Western Girls - who they believe all have very big breasts. Generally, in Japan, most of their "Western Style" girls all have big breasts to denote they are "western" because they've attached the "Bonkyu Bonkyu" phrase to them. You see it in anime and video games constantly. Intent? To make her look like she's American, basically. As stereotypical as it may be

Armi's thoughts on love are... complicated. Armi wants to believe in the love she always read about in her favorite novels. She really likes Fairy-tales and Romance Novels - in those love is the savior of everything. It can move mountains, crush demons, make people better, and be the cure for all that ails. In those books, love is a miracle. She desperately wants to believe love is a miracle. As a priestess of Nymeia, many people came to her with questions of their soulmates or the people they were destined to be with - asking for advice from the ones who did the Spinners work, Listening to these people and giving them advice, she absolutely believed that if two people who were meant for each other, they would find a way to be together and have a happy ever after. She was pretty happy to believe all of this was true for people, even if she never fell in love herself. Then, she did and everything got muddled. In reality, Armi found love to be complicated and messy. It was hard to sort out and sometimes it didn't work out. Or, really, most of the time it didn't work out. She's seen the dark side of love and she's terrified of it. Love can save, but it can also destroy. She's afraid that all she knows how to do is break the people she loves. Her mind is fractured, not whole from not really knowing who she is, and she's a nervous and indecisive person by nature -- she believes that how she is, there's no other option but to eventually break people. The love of her life ran from her, one man said he couldn't handle her, and the other broke under the pressure of trying to save her. Love is dark and shadowy, pretending to be light in order to get at your own shadows. She's in love now, and it scares her what she may turn him into. She wants to believe in the kind of love she used to before, but she's terrified it never really existed in the first place.

I don't think this is the thread for THAT discussion, but not every sexualized (and I mean characters who are obviously sexy) character in video games are automatically some Objectified thing to be slobbered over because "Male Patriarchy." Yes there is a problem with sexism in the industry, but I feel like some women just tend to say that includes EVERYTHING and EVERY VIDEO GAME EVER and it's just not true. We keep looking for problems where there aren't any and that's dangerously close to censorship. DIFFERENT DISCUSSION THOUGH!

^ Yeah not sure why they decided White on White was a good idea to show off the Scales >.> They really should have went with the OTHER girl with the blue scales. She looked more foreign and weird and we only got to see her for a nano-second.

That's actually exactly what I'm thinking. And how I think whenever I see an attractive character. I thought thats how everyone thought so it didn't need to be said. Do guys really just go "Girl has boobs. I like girl. No need to learn anymore about girl"? Am I giving guys some kind of benefit of the doubt I didn't know about?

^ My fiance, who's southern, had a pretty good laugh at her accent. I think Highlander females are sexy as hell. Loki, my highlander, is gorgeous. I don't mind overly sexy female characters as long as their is something else besides their sexiness. Bayonetta is a good example. She's super sexualized but also has a good personality and is generally a strong character. A lot of female characters personalities general boil down to "lol boobs" though. Sexiness isn't bad! Sexiness as the only defining trait of a character is!

Yeah. The males are pretty much eye candy. Not even gonna front on that. What it kind of looks like to me is that they designed the race to appeal to the opposite sex. The Males are tall, lithe, muscular, kind of broody looking, with handsome faces. Basically, the males are the entire cast of FREE! FREE! was designed to make Fujoshi lose their mind ON PURPOSE (The company that did K!ON decided there weren't enough anime geared toward females and, in response to the Moe boom, FREE! was born) The females? Moe. Totally Moe. Short, cute, adorable, you want to hug them. Moe. They are basically the cast of K!ON Moe (pronounced "Mo-eh") for those who don't know the term: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Moe This is a race of the sexualization of BOTH sexes here. Not just the females. (And before you get your gander up: I'm a huge ass feminist who has a lot of crits against the gaming industry. But, I can tell that whats going on here isn't just singling out the girls, the boys are also getting sexualized. But because men and women like very different things, the race looks a little off from gender to gender)

We have turned this thread from hate to pure lust love.

I am glad I got to spread the news of Gladiolus, because he deserves to be known about. I pretty much spent this entire trailer looking for his hot ass everywhere [video=youtube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4GQjh4Ltvo

I'm planning on making my female Au Ra an underground prize fighter. Looks and personality don't have to match to me. I'm confused at what we're talking about here though. Are we talking about Au Ra within the FFXIV bubble or the Au Ra within the reaches of the ENTIRE gaming culture? Those are two very different conversations that I think people are trying to have.

It's so rare when we see a video game that kind of looks like the female/homosexual eye was considered (And the male eye with Cidney - let's be real), be thirsty this may not happen again for awhile!

Yeah he's a main cast member... and hnnnnggg. I just want him all over me. Honestly, the only characters who look like Noctis are... Noctis and Prompto. Prompto, I'm theorizing, is based off of the Host Club look, which is vastly over the top. I really really love that they made it LOOK like he bleached his hair. Nice touch But, the two other main guys, besides HNNGG Gladiolus, don't really follow that Aesthetic. Cole/Cor Leonis looks like he could be Captain America - a very handsome older WEstern looking man.man and Ignis looks like a lot of dude I know who actually play this game >.> Kinda skinny, glasses, a bit nerdy. I think people are really focusing on Noctis who -- to me -- just looks like your average 16 year old in Tokyo.

I know someone who is planning on killing their character off and fantasiaing to Au Ra. I know 3 other people considering it. All of them Miqote. HMMM. I like them. I need to see more of them/their lore, but I like them so far. The men look REALLY good.
-
Honestly, Clover is like one of the nicest people here, there was no need to get snippy at her for trying to explain cultural differences that explain why the boys in FF15 look like "dolls" also can we talk about how hot Gladiolus is? Cuz... hnnngggg
-
Just to come into this conversation: I think this is what Clover was talking about. all those thing are considered... pretty normal in Japan and not at all a clue as to whether something or someone is feminine. Asian bodies tend to be hairless, gelled hair is normal because Asian hair is textured in such a way that makes those styles easier (jealous), fine clothes and lots of jewelry is just part of the Asian aesthetic. I mean... have you seen what yoshi P wears? He's a 40-year old man, but that's the style. It's not weird over there. Hell, one of their big popstars, Ken Hirai, is so "manly" looking they constantly question whether or not he's full Japanese. That guy. (Go look up his song with Namie Amuro "Grotesque" DO IT OMG) She's trying to say it's a different aesthetic is all.

Armi's gonna be a machinist and not be mechanically inclined BUT she is very good friends with two mechanically inclined people who are going to help her on this path. Going from Bow user to gun user won't be that hard of a transition either.

If there's a way to get some elaboration on this without going into too much detail advice would probably be a little more helpful. I'll try some things though. Was this a specific problem? Did an event happen that caused a lot of drama that made you feel like no one was on your side? If so, communication is always important. Everything is over if people refuse to talk to each other, and if you want to clear up anything with those people, it's important to keep the line of communication open. Send them a message "Hey, is it okay if we talk sometime, I want to understand what the problem is." if THEY decide not to engage, then that's not on you. As long as you let them know you were willing to talk about fix the problem, then that's all you can do. Was there no event and you feel like the community is just ostracizing you? To be frank 90% of the time people think this, it's all in their head. People pull away for a multitude of reasons - haven't been on the game much, got quiet because drama happened and the aftermath is always awkward, They stop rping so much and coming back to rp is awkward, Their closest friends quit, etc etc. When it looks like you're pulling back, people tend to let you do it BECAUSE - get this - they think you're trying to pull away from THEM. So they get awkward and uncomfortable and you're already awkward so know one asks anyone to do anything and one side is going "No one likes me anymore" while the other side is going "They never want to do anything anymore, they just sit in their corner." The best thing you can do here is -- get over it. Just jump in. We've all felt like our friends were ostracizing us at some point or another, but it's mostly our own insecurities. And just like above, something you can easily talk about. Have you taken a step back and looked at the problem objectively? Even if you're wronged in a situation, or at the very least feel like you were wronged, no one is 100% innocent. If something bad happened to someone, People tend to lash out at the people wronged them. It's normal. But THOSE people have friends, and THOSE friends may not be as sympathetic to you. Have you looked at the situation objectively and pinpointed what might have made people mad at you? Obviously, there's something - since you said no one was on your side. It would be a big something, it could be a small something (Depends on how sensitive people are). If you are positive you are 100% wronged here and not the wrong do-er this is probably the case. COMMUNICATION. There are many people in the world who don't like confrontation. Who believe that fixing a problem is a lot harder than just cutting off all communication entirely. Running into these people can be frustrating. You only did one thing wrong, why are they so quick to dismiss you? You're supposed to be friends, why can't you talk it out? The answer is "Because." There is no real answer, it's just how some people are built. They only like good, good positive emotions and anything bad that happens they run from. You can't prevent this, so don't be afraid of this. Communication is key. Talking to the involved parties is pretty much THE ONLY way to make sure to fix the problem with them. It's scary, but don't be afraid to ASK to talk it out. If you aren't comfortable with asking yourself, you can have an friend of yours who's still on good terms go to them and say "Hey, she wants to talk this out, do you thing that would be okay?" Don't be afraid to try to fix something YOU WANT FIXED. It isn't going to magically fix itself. They are not going to see this thread and come to you. That being said, if they do speak to you. Try not to speak with anger. Be humble. Understand what you did that may have hurt them and explain what they did that hurt you. Stay calm. Keep repeating what the actual issue is if they keep trying to veer off track. Make sure they understand. Make sure YOU understand them. And after this long ass talk, both parties need to let it go. I hope I did something

Au Ra's look lovely to me too, though I understand people's disgruntled attitude toward another "lovely" race lol. My Miqote from 1.0 has been waiting for a Fantasia to the new race, whatever it looked like. I'm pleased this is what she'll be.

The new healing class looks so interesting... I may take it up as well. I like the idea of Tarot cards and stuff... some fortune tellers ICLY?

No. I'm still mad at him. I realize he's fictional. I'm still mad though.

Armi: Completely Genuine Loki: Alco holic. (>.>)

Because of the way healing magic is - not OFTEN, but if Armi gets something really bad that happens to her where she almost dies she gets a scar. She has a jagged, but rather small 3 inches scar under her ribs on the left side and a long, thin, light colored scar that runs along her stomach.
