Mine was simple. I wrote up a complete personality profile and then picked the race it would be closest too. My intention was always to have Loki be a highlander, but the race was male only in 1.0 so I made her kind of a tomboy Midlander instead. Armi I rolled as an Elezen in 1.0 because I thought it fit best. Getting a second chance at playing again (And hopefully lasting longer than last time, lol) Loki finally gets to be a Highlander. Armi, however, I'm changing from an Elezen to a Midlander Hyur, as I didn't much jive with the animations for Elezen female and decided to go with the next best thing for her lore.

Really? I guess my guild is sticking with Gilgamesh. No big deal, it's only Beta after all.... though that poll we put up is totally moot now. Gilgamesh till Phase 4!

I play the flute. It's lame

I'm new and not a legacy player, but I'm not new to RP and an willing to RP with anyone ;o. If anyone wants to RP and sees my name wandering around, totally bug me about RP. I mean, again... I'm not super special Legacy but I'd like to believe someone would like to RP with me

Most of my guild is starting fresh (I think we only have 2 legacy people in our guild total lol) and we'll be rolling on Balmung. Hopefully there will be noobs there with us!

^ This is a pretty great way to do it. That disconnect is the perfect way to describe what seems to be happening.

I played on Ramuh half the time during Phase 3 which is a Japanese server and the ping was excellent. You may not really have to worry about ping rolling on a NA server. And unfortunately for you EU, as far as I'm aware there are no actual data centers in Europe (At least that's what the Beta forums are complaining about )

Currently my guild has it set up where they think the people who were sent forward in time are dead or they MIGHT have been sent forward in time but they just can't remember if they were or not. We're assuming that the memory of what happened that day is hazy, but no other memories were changed. A friend of mine's entire character is based off of her being at the battle but not being sent forward for whatever reason, she says she's just making it so her character's memory of what happened to everyone there is fuzzy and she can't confirm whether or not her friends are dead or one of the Warriors of Light. That's really the only change we've had to make so far, but it could change more as the story reveals itself.

I was all ready to play my midlander as my main till I rolled Loki - my Highlander. I just fell in love with her. So now I have a new main. Gonna throw a wrench into a few things but that's okay, I just LOVE THIS too much.

I'm rerolling Armi from a Female Elezen to a Midlander Hyur. There are Beta reasons for this more than there are story reasons for this. Damn you NDA (Be the 14th already) I'm rerolling Loki to from a midlander Female to a Highander Female. She's just always been Highlander in her heart.

RP Servers: A Discussion (mods please read before locking..)
ArmachiA replied to Mtoto Wamoto's topic in RP Discussion
I'm not Legacy and I'll be pretty much starting in the RP community fresh. I cant argue economy or the distribution of wealth on a Legacy server (I'd have to see it to make an informed argument) I can say I'm not THAT worried about being on Balmung despite the fact all these Legacy RPers are used to each other. Mostly, this is because I'm banking on what SE is banking on - a ton of new people. A bunch of new people coming to the Balmung server as the unofficial RP server will pretty much drown out any Legacy "elitism" that may occur. There will be more NEW players than there will be Legacy players, and they are the ones who are going to have to adjust to the influx of new RPers. It's not just going to be 30 or 40 new people either. If SE has their way, it's going to be thousands (Though Realistically it'll probably be in the high 100's). Legacy RPers are the ones who are going to have to adapt, not the new RPers. If they're "elitist" and "insular" than the new RP groups that form will leave them in the dust, though I doubt 95% of Legacy RPers are either of those things. That's my take on it anyway. -
I'm shocked so many people aren't time skipping. Armi will be 23 and will have time skipped. I have two other characters, as well. Loki will be 27 with a time skip, and Daej will be 28 with no time skip

All of Armi's immediate family (Parents, one sister) and some cousins and aunts and uncles are alive. Her grand parents are dead and a some cousins died in the Calamity, some were on the front lines and sent forward in time. Armi's mom had 2 sisters and 1 brother, Armi's dad had 3 brothers - two of her uncles died in the attack. There is a total of 24 offspring from this branch of the family - 6 died in the calamity and 2 were sent forward in time with Armi. All of these people are really just background NPCs with no real importance to Armi's story. She was close to a cousin who she'll will find out died, but other than that they have no real effect on her RP life. Armi's family is quite simple, a lot of them are farmers who live in small hamlets outside the large cities that are Limsa, Uldah, and Gridania - some have never even been to the cities. She is very much, all around, average.

I run a guild that is both RP and endgame, and have for many years. There is a bit of sacrifice involved... mostly on the endgame side though, not on the RP side. Since RP is mostly done in downtime and endgame has to be coordinated way way more than just running to a tavern to RP with some friends, we find we have to be more casual in our endgame raiding if we want to do RP at all. Finding dedicated endgamers is fine and all, but they usually want to be faster than we want to. That doesn't mean we aren't good at endgame, our guild on Emerald Dream in WoW was in the top 20, we just move at a slower pace than Hardcore guilds. Honestly, I think if we dedicated ourselves to one or the other ("Hardcore" Raiders or "Heavy" RPers) we would get pretty bored pretty fast. I love finding people who love to do both endgame and RP but it's actually really hard, so a lot of the time the guild is split between Casual Raiders and RPers. A few people in our guild are both though, so that's good.

This is a really good idea for keeping the RP community all informed and junk, all my guild members will probably be looking for a pearl come release

Oh, you weren't THAT bad, just a little crazy in the head

Armi is Heterosexual. As for her type... hmmm I've never actually thought about it, so that's an interesting thought process. I personally prefer Highlander males and Miqote Males, but I'm not sure Armi would make such a preference. When it comes to race, Armi is equal opportunity. When it comes to personality... Armi is witty and funny but she's not super outgoing (She's my opposite in that respect, I'm very loud mouthed and outgoing, she's more pulled back. Not shy, just a bit reserved), so I think someone who would bring out that silly side of her would be attractive to her. Guys who can make her laugh and seem to have a light heart would be her favorite type. If they are too dark, she becomes almost motherly and stops seeing them as a perspective mate and more of someone who needs to be taken care of. She has a bit of melancholy in her herself so I think she believes that people who are too dark would have the power to drag her down with them, so she'll help but not get too close. Those who are lighthearted she admires, I think. Yeah, that sounds about right

WIKI POLL: Regarding Storyline NPC Pages
ArmachiA replied to Deirdre's topic in Off-Topic Discussion
I voted yes, though I could really only see myself using it for NPC's who were important to my Guild or multiple characters, rather than just, say, my character's mother. NPC's can be extremely relevant to storylines and can take on lives of their own, some really do deserve their own page (As well as what Eva said about the wiki bloat thing) -
Althyk, the Keeper She's actually going to believe in him heavily after the 5 year skip, but I'm not 100% on her belief system yet. I just know this will be her guardian.
-
I said Gridania because that's where she was before she got thrust forward in time, but at the start of ARR she probably won't have a home (I'm leaning her toward Limsa Lominsa)
-
Armi was born in a small town outside Gridania.

I know this is an April Fools joke because of the "package size" thing.
