Hahahahahaha.... oh God, I think I'm in love. That personality is awesome.

While the thought of a green Paladin is a bit disheartening, I'd much rather put up with poor "fashion" sense than mirror replicas everywhere. I am also quite bewildered that you can only dye one part of an armour as well when, judging from the NPCs, they made it clear that the other parts are easily changeable.

Eeep, I guess that is quite a convincing point. No. Even if you "control" your char, you dont control others. They still react to your char as they do, thats the fun of multiplayer you cant get alone. There will still happen things that are unforeseen. People just handle it different how they react to that. Well I know that was a tad overexaggerated but my point was that if you are OOCly finding out about how X's character behaves and will react to your advances then you are essentially learning the important parts about that character(in relation to what you want from X's character) so you, in essence, know what is going to happen. Yes, its not as extreme as I chose to describe it, but the difference is so vast from going in blind, as would naturally happen, hence why I made such a comparison ^^

Ehehe, you make a fair point though and it is probably the same opinion as my own. Although admittedly, if I could help it, I would likely avoid RP'ing with someone claiming to be a hero if I knew about it before they approached me out of sheer skepticism. I realise it is a bit presumptuous but I'd rather take the safe route and leave space open to others in the world that I may meet instead of closing off many roads and just accepting this one person as a hero and everyone else I meet as delusional or liars.

I really need to Google 'Garuda'... every time I see it mentioned here I picture the boss as a Garuga.

I kind of agree with Aysun. Instead of RP'ing what would and should happen to your character, it is pretty much RP'ing only what you are happy with. That is not IC at all, it is complete meta-gaming and OOC influence. Feelings cannot be controlled. If my character began to grow feelings for someone, no matter how much I knew it wouldn't(and maybe even OOCly didn't want it to) work, altering their route is not RP'ing surely. Its just picking and mixing. Life isn't about everything going your way, and that should reflect on RP as well, otherwise(in my mind) its starting to feel a lot less like RP and more of a candy cane, happily ever after story in progress. Anyways, I am not judging or telling anyone how to RP, I was just a little surprised. I understand that people like to RP in different ways but I was sure that not having an OOC influence on your characters was a foundation rule that everyone abided by. I can't understand the concept otherwise. If you are going to control the results then its almost as if you are rp'ing with yourself.

Pretty much this. People only disagree to the idea of following the in-game lore to that extent and assuming the role as the "undefeatable hero" because you are forcing your RP on to basically everyone on the server. Naturally, many people won't want this and will ignore your claims and character altogether because it creates otherwise avoidable inconsistencies.

O_O""" late ;; Well I won't be able to take part in that case. I hope it goes well for you all! ^^ Have fun ~

I missed this post. I'm sorry there, hun, I don't mean to call you out at all. I understand how you might feel as someone who tried to play a Belf when Belfs were viewed poorly based on what many others decided to do with them. Like I said, I take this issue about the race being stereotyped, or worse, being treated like a joke or an easter egg very seriously. I, personally, admit that I'm very jealous. It seems there's more on Miqo'te in just the little details of their naming conventions and their males to female dynamics than there are about Roegadyn. I really wish there was even this much to go off of, instead of having to assume Roegadyn are like Vikings. I wish there was a bit more flavor to it, you know? That's why I hope someone sees the more positive sides of Miqo'tes instead of being worried about how other people view them. I feel they're really lucky compared to the rest of us. Ahh, I can understand that completely and I am truly sorry if I was coming off as spoiled or nitpicking at details and things that just don't happen to interest me when I should be grateful for what was supplied for my main race. I naturally just grow attached to my characters and feel an urgency to defend them(or in this case their race and clan, which represent her) from anything would would give them bad stigma. I know full well that this is all likely just fan service and not something to be taken literally/seriously or feel the need to apply it to my characters in any sense at all, but even so... I like the miqo'te race and even though prostitution may not be a big deal to them/Eorzeans/Eorzea's timeline, especially with the geisha concept.. we all can't help but to relate it to modern thinking on some level and feel a certain way in a respect I guess. Well, that applies for me at least, I shouldn't assume others feel similarly.

But her sort of unphased attitude is born from her arrogance and feeling of being untouchable, isn't it? The elzen on the other hand who bantered back and forth with her made it a little comical by humouring her attitude due to their past run-ins. He is also cocky, he even insisted on going alone. I don't think he was worried about failing either. He just saw her as a rival and a past mistake that he needed to redeem himself for. I think both him and her had no intentions or worries about losing to one another because they were confident in their own abilities. The mqio'te and your character on the other hand treated it more seriously. I dunno, maybe its just me but I thought it was a good scene ^^" Edit: I think some of that was aimed at me, Siobhain, so I'll just add that I have zero qualms with RPers playing as miqo'te courtesans or anything! I have no problem with that idea at all. Was just a little sad that it seems to be becoming a stereotype or general depiction of the race as a whole ^^

I'd be an additional alt just for reference ^^

Haha, shame you can't remove the crest without exposing its front end. Albeit, IC my chocobo won't have that much armour anyways, it would be way too expensive and rather unnecessary for a teenage, tribal Miqo'te.

Are you mistaken? I bought both from the quartermaster today and they were completely different. It's possible, but I thought it definitely said "Immortal Flames Barding" When I swapped it out for my Behemoth Barding. I'd check if I could to make sure, but the time, she is bad! I edited my last post with a picture but the default barding is named similar to the one that cost 6,000 seals as I recall. Edit: Thank you for the pictures! Just for reference to others, none of those bardings are the default ^^

Are you mistaken? I bought both from the quartermaster today and they were completely different. Here is the one that cost 6,000 seals; Gridanian Barding: Except the helmet, that is the default one(the only difference is that its a little longer with another layer of leather at the back).

Because these themes only came to light in-game! As for myself, I only discovered the FATE a few days ago. Anywho, something like this wouldn't deter me from the race or make me change my character after everything leading up until now. A stereotype does not define my character and there are many reputable miqo'tes/sunseekers in game as well. I just disliked how many Sunseekers were being portrayed ^^/ It felt it was stealing something from the innocence and beauty of all the PC miqo'tes I have seen.

Sorry, I was meant to reply to this earlier today. I found out myself. Both bardings are actually different to the default barding you get. I don't have any screenshots(I might post some tomorrow in case anyone else stumbles across this) but I can tell you that both bardings have more armour than the default one.

What you have to remember is that the contradictions are going to happen for legitimate reasons. Seekers, for example, do not all live in tribes anymore. There are significant numbers that are off in Limsa, or being pirates, or whores, or dancers, etc. There are reasons for the different lifestyles, and those reasons are what we can latch onto to make awesome, unique, characters, while staying true to the Seeker lore, instead of making our own because we want to play catgirls. That is also quite true, but it doesn't make me any happier about it, eheh. Nor do I feel fully content that it wasn't just a tasteless(interpretive) attempt at fan service with no real reference to the way the majority of Seekers may choose to behave in Eorzea but all I am here for is to say that it was not something I was happy to see, even were it 100% intentional.

But no, thats not what I mean. I don't have enough experience to argue about this too much but I don't think I am arrogant to say that not everything in-game can be taken as lore because there are some things that contradict each other. Dialogue for minor scenes and sub-quests are likely handled by a completely different team who aren't too fussed about how, in this case, Miqo'tes are represented so long as none of the main themes are broken. If we were to take absolutely everything said in-game to be absolute truth then I am sure soon enough things would be drowning in contradictions and no-one would know what to believe. I'd rather follow the information that I've learned from this forum(which was collected from elsewhere) as the actual official word rather than what some random staff members decided to go with for a quest line in terms of dialogue. Not forgetting that English dialogue is altered considerably from Japanese version. This sounds highly likely to me, I like your point.
