lol, when I first saw it in-game I wasn't sure if it was a coincidence or a clever abbreviation.

Balmung definitely seems to be the busiest for EU users given the fact it also has a number of Linkshells and some Free companies dedicated to European users alone. Some people tend to over-exaggerate populace on a server once three or four users stumble along "oh we have a lot of these" and such but from what I have seen there is quite a significant amount of EU members rolling on Balmung from these forums and the shells and companies only further reflect that.

Ah I'm sorry. My terminology is horrifically poor. It's not something important to my characters though really. I just don't want my character who doesn't use any form of magic to be really special and manage to learn or make any claims/statements that would imply he could learn if he chose to. If it was a widespread capability that simply requires training like anything else then that'd be fine, if not then I just wanted to know so that I don't make any mistakes in future RP ^^ Thank you everyone else for your posts, I appreciate your help. I think Conjurer and Arcanist don't require a special Gift per se but saying "anyone can learn magic" is like saying "anyone can learn brain surgery" less a lack of an innate "gift" and more a lack of mental aptitude. (Arcanists specifically seem to be almost a purely math magical system) Neurosurgery is an extreme. I was simply implying having the ability to learn magic as opposed to becoming an expert and not being limited. Put it this way, I was asking if learning magic is a matter of attempting to learn a new skill or attempting to learn how to breathe under water.

Hello, I'm sorry if this is a silly or previously/frequently answered question but I was just wondering what exactly is the view on magic in this game? Do only certain people have the ability to utilize magic or can anyone/most people just learn healing/destructive magic? There are probably some examples of magic that occur within battle classes or perhaps returning to your home crystal(if that is an existing function in RP though I kinda doubt it), but I mean pretty much learning the art of magic classes to any degree. Anyways, apologies again if this is repeat question and have a nice day ^^/

I was becoming a little worried since I heard mentioned of an 18 digit code AND a 20 digit code in regards to the pre-order and early access but all I ever got was the 20-digit beta code so I thought I got skipped on the earlier one and would lose EA, eheh. Wow this sounds absolutely perfect for my character if you'll have him. He's meant to be a bit of an infamous bounty hunter(no morals on who the target is, innocent or not) and I initially wished I could find some tavern-like scenario which could help collect requests for him. I was however, just now, thinking that I should perhaps change him into being a mercenary. Managing to find compliant RPers when it comes to capture scenarios just seems like something unfeasible or at the very best, a highly rare occurrence. In addition to that, I wanted this character to be particularly strong and have a near flawless record. Meaning that I was hoping to have a number of successful captures/kills in my RP before he is finally bested by a worthy or better opponent... something which will not likely be easy to find(who wants to be beaten with minimal effort?). Sorry, I just wanted to share that since it has been troubling me for a while now and I thought some of you might be familiar with such situations or types of RP. It's not that I want him to be OP or unbeatable, but rather I want him to actually seem very strong(to match the ego he has grown as a result) before he finally experiences defeat. Well in any case, if you have a solution in mind I'd appreciate anyone's assistance. As well as that, if one or both of the above scenarios would allow him to become a regular in this tavern then please let me know! *very interested*

Certainly something I wouldn't have considered....um... I guess Alex(my 'bad' character) could smell like drink occasionally or even a hint of perfume if he was at a brothel which probably wouldn't even come up in RP anyways. I don't think anyone else would have any lingering smell.
