Hipparion tribe - organization & discussion

Oh, with that said I am not fussed about K'nahli's mother's surname. She can be the mate of any nuhn that fits best. -
Hipparion tribe - organization & discussion
K'nahli replied to growly beast's topic in RP Discussion
Never too late! Yay! Well, I have no idea who I would play or where she would fit, so I'll just offer myself as someone's mother, sister, daughter, whatever. That's rather ambiguous though Don't you have a particular age group or setting that you'd like? I applaud your willingness to adapt to our interests but it is your character after all. Edit: How about K'nihqa?(as K'nahli's mother that is) -
Hipparion tribe - organization & discussion
K'nahli replied to growly beast's topic in RP Discussion
If it's not too much trouble, K'mih and K'nahli shared K'yohko as their father but have different birth mothers. I believe it doesn't matter to K'mih who her mother is but I'll supply you with a name for K'nahli's at least so long as this is no issue. Um... is there anything else I should do to help fit everything together? -
Welcome to the forum! ^^ Always nice to see more RPers join the community.

You may know or have seen Andre Winter... Pre-Calamity: No real notable existence other than being a citizen of Ul'dah and a young knight-in-training. Post-Calamity: Stepping in as a part-time bard in local pubs and restaurants in Ul'dah. It would have been noticed that he is easy-going, friendly and social. He has not been seen around the city for a number of months. A lesser known fact is that he served as a city guard before his disappearance. Picture: I'd encourage people to also post pictures of their characters once and if they get the chance assuming people should recognise your physical appearance. After all, if someone has earned any form of recognition in any area then locals of the area may be more familiar with one's appearance before their name.

Why I love it when other RPers crash my scene
K'nahli replied to C'io Behkt's topic in RP Discussion
Intervening worries me a little. I'd like to try and do it if I think my character would naturally involve themselves but I'd be worried about upsetting the actual RP'ers. "Why is this guy barging into our scene and spoiling the moment..?" -
Its more fleshing out how many NPC females and males are in the tribe, start with how many Nunh we have, then how many Tia and then how many females below that, simply working on females being the most populous being at the base of the pyramid. Ohh, I beg your pardon then. I see what you mean ^^
-
From what I see, we have at least six females that are actual PCs but I am unsure of their affiliation. I'm sure what you mean would be females that are still an active part of the tribe, however I have lost track of some other characters and stories and am unsure who is where.

Why I love it when other RPers crash my scene

Hahahaha, that is insanely adorable. I can't believe people actually remained in character through that, have to respect them playing on such a silly whim like that. That...was...quality. -
Considering the size of the tribe then I don't think it would be unfair to say that nuhns(possibly varying depending on the character as well) may have a rather involved relationship with most if not all of his children, but as someone already pointed out, just to varying degrees. Anyone want to play a resentful, neglected-feeling child? Heeee~ ^^

Your character sounds interesting if I may say so ^^ Creating her with such an impeding handicap should make for a unique story, I hope to read about her soon ^^/

*nods* Clover needs someone to make fun of.

Um, are you talking about the same original concept or did you dismiss it because you thought it wouldn't work? From what I understood about it I don't think it was too unreasonable but if your character slept during the day and was active at night then she'd probably have minimal interactions with the tribe as a whole. Edit: I see. If it's strictly aesthetic then I don't see why not but I have little knowledge about the game and race overall so I can't say with confidence if people would actually notice the difference. From what I can tell though so long as you use seeker naming conventions then no-one can tell the difference(at least I can't).

Thank you for your answers! They have pretty much all met my expectations but I just wanted to be sure. The idea if nomadic tradesmen sounds very interesting and realistic, I'd definitely include it. Who knows? It may even influence some RP scenarios for some people.
-
I'm sorry, I'm afraid I don't understand this bit. What do you mean "more suited" to being a sunseeker? You mean you prefer their naming conventions and/or tribal customs? Yeah. That's it. I like their tribal customs better. Or rather the fact that they have their own tribes at all. If that makes sense. Ah so a nocturnal miqo'te living amongst a sunseeker tribe basically?

That sounds great. It will be interesting to see what direction we will take based on what the elders have to say, especially if there are disagreements among them. Since people are posting(this is aimed at Naunet in particular), do you have any other ideas or pieces of information regarding the tribe that can help us string our own stories together? Like, for example: What do Miqo'tes hunt? Do they have schooling/teaching of any kind? If so, what does it involve? What happens in daily Miqo'te life? Nothing too important but I believe them to be handy, particularly the last three.

If I may add, part of my character's background involved her stumbling across a young Tia(20-25) practicing with his bow outside of the village. She would go and watch him almost every day until he finally offered to train her with it once she got a little older. Archery became her passion, though the Tia died many years later. Do you think this would be okay? It's nothing too significant to anyone other than my character but I am asking since you said females do most of the hunting with only a few exceptions existing... and I just want to be safe so as to not go against anything the tribe's customs or history.
-
Do you have any preference as to K'yohko's family history, or can I just connect him to whoever? Admittedly I am leaving important details like that to Clover since I am completely new to this but I don't think she would mind so long as she could choose her own mother(?) In any case she won't be able to reply until tomorrow, sorry ;;

Awesome work! *-* And thank you so, very much for including K'yohko. That was very considerate >w< Quoting Naunet since I pushed his tree to the previous page: Also, anyone else please provide feedback.

Balancing character personality (Mundane or Mary Sue)
K'nahli replied to Averis's topic in RP Discussion
My very first character that I ever RP'd and gave a personality was the closest thing I ever had to a 'snowflake' character. Naturally I did worry that perhaps I was making her too perfect though that was far from my intention. She was supposed to be the sweet and easily-likeable character as well as being an adept warrior in many areas, being that she had trained almost all of her life. Of course, I never wanted her to be seen as perfect. I find that concept mind-numbingly boring. What is there to like about a flawless character? She had a very troubled past and a number of flaws that predominantly had to do with her own emotions that led to her being a very fragile character that was on the verge of snapping should she succumb to another traumatic event. Anyways, in terms of balancing my character I willingly accept that my character is not immortal and not able to easily overcome any situation be it battle, emotional moments or even an argument. It doesn't really matter to me where my characters' flaws lie, so long as they are enough to actually define who they are and how they behave in certain situations and perhaps even in every day life. As someone said, character flaws are far more interesting than merits in most cases. I am not particularly inclined to any set personality as far as I can tell, but I must admit I do like characters that have secrets and don't easily dictate their lifestory to you in the blink of an eye. What is better than finding out something shocking about a character you have known for a long time and felt that you knew better than anyone else? -
Haha, yes. I was trying to develop a background for my miqo'te with false characters and such but I will happily adapt it to fit this setting. This will be much more influential and easier to handle now that we can have someone answering questions about how the tribe operates/it's history and whatnot >w

I think Clover/K'Mih wanted her character to be sixteen years old provided that it wouldn't mean her character would have to return to the tribe to breed very soon(we weren't sure if it was viewed as a tradition upon reaching a certain age) but she'll have to specify herself. Assuming it's not obligatory then my character will be seventeen. You can safely place us both into the teenage generation at least ^^ And thank you for having us both *-* This sounds like it will be very interesting ~
-
Emphasis. ..........................Nahh ^^" But really, I'd appreciate it if you would also allow me to join this tribe ^^ I have to wait for the character creator to provide you with a picture but should you need a name then it will be: K'nahli (Yohko?) I hope you don't mind!
