I agree with the OP. Regardless of how long the words have been around or used in history, they do stand out and kind of kill the some of the immersion, for me at least. Words like "whore", I can read and not be so drawn to it standing out, simply because I've seen it used quite a bit in the fantasy genre. But things like "cunt", "fuck", and even "shit" feel out of place for me. I think that it's because I hear this language used so much in every day speech that I automatically associate those words with the real world. I also think it has a lot to do with the lingo we see commonly used in FFXIV as a whole. There is plenty of dialogue in which a person is clearly swearing, but it's used in a more...eloquent manner (I suppose would be the proper way of saying it) than anyone would use in the outside world. Even if the use of "bad words" does break immersion for a moment, it doesn't necessarily kill the entire RP for me.

To make things a little more clear and to narrow down my needs, my character has a split personality and one personality wishes to rid herself of the other. Obviously, I don't want to destroy my body in the process so I'm looking for someone who can try and assist. Whether the person is sincere or not in their attempts or even ability, I'll leave that to your discretion and play it out as it goes.

This is more of a story that happened to one of my friends who happens to be a new player. This happened a few days ago while he was running Tam-Tara Deepcrofts and was tanking. There was a Conjurer in his party who refused to cast anything but stone. No heals, nothing, just stone. Despite the party asking the conjurer to heal...still casted nothing but stone. It got to the point where the rest of the party were spending all their time trying to keep my friend alive using their own cross classed cure ability. It was ridiculous but we all had a good laugh about it in Team Speak.

My "sister", Esva and I (Ari) are apart of this clan. Also, we are seeking additional members of the Kagon clan or even rival clans such as the Oronir clan.

So, I caved and drank the Au Ra Kool-Aid. I chose the Kagon clan and was curious if there are any fellow Kagon's out there who wish to do some clan RP. I would also be interested in RPing with other clans and explore our differences. The Oronir Clan would certainly spice things up considering our two clans clash in regard to our patron deities. I agree and I could apply this to the opposite as well. That person who is the "3edgy5me" type that makes you want to hurl a Hawthorn Heights CD and Hot Topic Gift Card toward them and wish them the best of luck. But hey, it's hard out there in Eorzea.

Not my intent to be a "Negative Nancy" just getting a feel for what people do and don't like while listing a few of my own. I don't blacklist a person from my rp circle for doing those things nor do I chastise them for it, but I can't promise I won't be rolling my eyes from behind my computer screen.

While we are generally a pretty kind community, I'm sure once in a while we run into certain people who do things that just grates on our nerves. I've been RPing for a while over a few different games and have developed OOC pet peeves about things people do ICly. What are yours? (Note: This thread is not meant to offend and may even provide tips for RP etiquette with certain people, on that notion please be civil.) My pet peeves: -People who emote what would be an internal monologue. I shouldn't be able to read your mind unless I have some aforementioned ability to do so...which I don't. -Taking major actions against another character ICly without their permission. Mostly refers to injury of another persons character. Please ask me first if I'm cool with you stabbing me ICly and I will return the courtesy when I ask to bump into you and snatch something from your pockets. -RPing my character into RP purgatory. Usually has to do with kidnapping or things of that sort. No one likes being in a position where they aren't able to do things for long periods of time. I can't think of anymore at this moment, so now it's your turn!:frustrated:

I was actually already here, the bf was the one who moved and moved back over to Balmung. According to him, it was an instant transfer. I suppose you just have to have a bit of luck to get over without a hassle. Hope you have an easier time getting here.

Hiya guys and gals!I am returning after a fairly long hiatus from FFXIV. I've been playing WoW for the last few months (no one ever quits for good...) and decided since Blizz put in a pay your sub with in game currency system, I can finally afford to play both and only pay real money for one! I am hoping to get as into RP over here as I have been in WoW the last few months and I'm pretty excited about trying out the new expansion! My boyfriend has also renewed his sub and has transferred back over to Balmung with me so we hope to see you guys and gals around!
