I would also be interested in an expression chart.

We can also look at the Tales from the Calamity story: In Louisoix’s Wake http://www.finalfantasyxiv.com/anniversary/na/detail/memoir_5.html?rgn=na&lng=en It specifically says in the story: "Recent graduates of the Studium, the twins were now sixteen summers old─old enough to be considered of age in Sharlayan society." However, we also know that elezen mature at a slower rate than the other races given the recent lore panel so that explains why the twins still look to be preteens in body. So a purely -elezen- society might have an age that is older to accompany this. *shrug* Hard to say and that is merely conjecture on my part.

I don't know if you can backtrack in ST. Without dying anyway. But! I'd advise not clearing the last boss if you plan on backtracking in any dungeon. Since after you beat the last boss there is that 5 min timer before the instance boots you. Regardless of what the overall timer had been at.

Yep. Just tested it out. It will kick you at the end of the 90 mins. Thank you Jancis, Vaughn, and Z'enath for helping to test it out.
-
Now I'm really curious... Hm... I also know from several personal experience that the 90 min timer would kick you out once it's done counting down. But it hasn't happened for a few patches. Might test later tonight unless someone else pipes up with something before hand.

Jaques shakes his head, hazarding a glance down to the lalafell, crouched down into a small a ball as she could get. One hand pressed to her bleeding nose and the other over her head as tho to lessen a blow and trembling all over. "No... We should be safe enough here against the wall while the smoke lifts more... and I don't think she's fit to move."

Oh! I'm finally feeling comfortable enough with the world that I want to try RPin a magic user. And arcanists with their geometries seem the most interesting to me. So I've been trying to come up with my own headcannon for them for the last month or so. This helped a lot! My headcannon actually matches yours fairly decently. Especially in that last section of grimoire/free drawing. Although you've gone to far greater depth than I have yet. I'm curious where you believe that the shielding geometries lie in the spectrum. The neutral area or do those still fall into healing? I hadn't considered a pattern that attached itself to a host to use the hosts own aether to prolong itself. But it does make sense. I am considering going more for the mix of white/black magic. The arcanist uses their own aether to fuel the spell initially. But then certain patterns start drawing on aether from the surrounding area to sustain before it eventually deteriorates since there is nothing permanent and no directing will to keep the structure of the pattern intact once it leaves the arcanist's control. As far as shapes... in my headcannon spirals (and springs) are used to draw from outside aether and to concentrate aether into the geometric pattern. A '-o-' line with a connecting circle is a place that aether can be stored in a sense. And size plays a part in the geometries power and potential. So that matches. I like the idea of smooth vs. jagged patterns depending on the pattern's use... I may just steal that. >.>; :cactuar: I'm still trying to work in how summoning works and more importantly how to sustain a summon in my headcannon. How difficult is it to maintain? etc. I like the food for thought you put in that.

Jaques narrows his eyes as the Blades advanced and the fabric clad miqo'te had drawn her weapon. Things were about to get ugly... Which he was right but ugly in a different sort of way than he initially feared. He noticed the small object rolling to a stop in front of Sounsyy and erupt into a plume of blinding dark smoke. Then he lost sight of her. He tries to put himself in front of Vaughn, keeping them both pressed back against the far wall as he attempted to keep them out of the line of any panicked city-dwellers or overly sensitive adventurer. "You all right, love?" His sensitive hearing trying to pick up what was going on amidst the chaos as he waited for a reply from Vaughn. He could hear someone laughing, plenty of coughing and scared or angry cries. A few yelps of pain. He could hear but not understand the voice of the red-haired sultansworn and other commanding tones of the Blades. Presently a terrified lalafell stumbled out of the haze and ran face first into the wall. Pawing at it desperately once she found her way blocked and then crouching and trembling. As he shifted slightly to stand in front both Vaughn and this lalafell as best he could while he decided it was best just to stay put for the moment and let the fog lift.

He'd been about to ask followup questions of the raving elezen when the crimson robed miqo'te had beaten him to it. So he lapsed to silence, instead listening to the words spoken by the gathering crowd. He'd been about to speak again when the red-haired midlander had spoken up and again he held his silence, eyes narrowed slightly at the sight of the gleaming official armour the woman wore. Instead of further talk he decided to meld back into the crowd, dragging Vaughn with him. Easy enough to do since all eyes were now drawn the the Sultana's private guard and the loud elezen on her box. Let them think he was just there for the spectacle. Which was mostly true. He wasn't quite sure what would be done to a woman spouting such things on a crowded street. Especially with the recent riots. As he leans back against the far wall he catches sight of the wrapped Sounsyy. She hadn't noticed him yet and he watched her finger the pommel of her weapon. It was difficult to tell what the miqo'te was thinking, so wrapped in fabric, but he could tell she was very focus on the spectacle before them. He immediately is on full alert as he starts scanning the shadows and other recesses of the busy street from his taller vantage. Making certain he was between the covered miqo'te and Vaughn and looking for similarly dressed and weaponed figures. This -would- make a very public ambush and statement for this 'Republic of Ul'dah' ...

Jaques pauses as a flier is thrust in front of him. He shifts his amber gaze up to the elezen woman as he processes the question she asked and the meaning of the flier. As tall as he was, he still had to look up to the woman on her box. He accepts the parchment, barely giving it a glance as he keeps his gaze on the woman. He'd seen the fliers littering the streets and torn down the ones that had been hung on the door and walls of the Rose. The duskwight's baritone is flat as he asks, "And what, exactly, is to take their place? The monetarists?" Gives a derisive snort.

Waaaatttt?! When did you take that?! She looks awfully at peace though... only three things bring that about >.> To quote my senpai in the art.... CREEP CREEP CREEP -
We all know Eorzea is a harsh and dangerous world. Below is a prompt for each starting zone. Choose at least one and say how your character would get out of such a situation. An IC write-up or an OOC accounting is fine. 1. You decide to make a trip to the Mist but don't have aetheryte travel as an option. You decide to take the shorter route through the La Thagran Checkpoint despite the rumors of kobolds making themselves an issue in the cave pass. Well bad luck for you! You round the corner and hear their beastly chatter, arguing over a earth crystal. Your toe stubs on a rock in the poor light and echos through the passage. You've been discovered! 2. You're making your way to the Coffer and Coffin, in want for a slightly different watering hole than the Quicksand. Things are going well despite the unrelenting sun. That is until you round the corner of a rocky protrusion and find yourself face to beak with an axebeak. Immediately you can tell it's very aggravated and a quick glance around shows you'd accidentally stepped between a mother and it's young. Oops. 3. You're out and about in the Shroud and you'd been navigating the tangle of trees for several bells as you slowly make your way back to Gridania proper. You pause to sit among the roots of a tree and rest a few minutes when the roots suddenly start to shift and move! Looks like you've woken up a cranky and aether-crazed treant. Uh oh.

Dunno if this will be helpful to anyone, but I found this lil guide to be quiet helpful. It's broken down into sections based on where you are in gearing up. So jump down to the bottom section for the new stuff. -
Not dressin up and have hunkered down against all intruders to the fort. *eyes door* But am listening to scary story podcasts. Which is good fun. Also: 1t8-_pI1-9Q
