  1. That's a BLM staff, dragoon lalafell. Go home you're drunk. ^ E'yup. Any characters getting married anytime soon? Anyone? ...no? *looks around repeatedly* Looks like Berrod and Caleb are up... If you can convince those two to go dress nice and stand in front of a bunch of people and make promises to each other and then hug, be my guest! I already told you how the leadup to gettin' Berrod and Caleb hitched goes. It really needs to happen that way!
  2. Zabine had left Ul'dah just a few bells past midday when she'd set out from Ul'dah the previous sun. She'd explored the city-state and now was attempting to familiarize herself with the land. Her destination currently being some crystallized canyon called the Burning Wall that apparently housed fluffy creatures called snurbles with fleece golden and glittering in the sun. That promised to be an interesting sight at the very least. Spying the small band of amaljaa as she left out of Highbridge she turned Southeast off the road where a river she was supposed to follow upstream flowed. If her directions were accurate. Which she had -no- doubts on now since the very obvious and enormous crystal spires rose high above the obscuring cliffs. She wasn't entirely certain about the beastmen and kept her distance, walking stealthily and assuredly through desert foliage that grew ever thicker the closer to water she got. Then skirted around different, smaller beastmen as she made her way. The sounds of the river growing ever louder. Still moving silently as a she picked her way across the desert landscape. She was about to round a clump of vegetation when she heard the shift of metal and the rustling of something moving just ahead. She froze. Then very cautiously and slowly the Duskwight shifted to look through a break in the foliage to see another elezen crouched, facing mostly away, near a body. She was quick to process the scene. Lack of stench even with the heat, still wet blood, the buzzing of Vilekin just beginning to settle in but no other sounds of movement nearby. The... killer? No. She could only see the tip of the sword since it was on the woman's opposite side but it seemed clean. Which meant the near arm was her swordarm and from what she could see that seemed clean. The shield glinting the midday sun in full view was clean of fresh blood. The amount of blood she could see there was no way this woman would be clean from that kill. A frown clouded her features as she debated her next course of action in silence. Still listening for any odd sounds nearby and detecting none. After a couple moments she just as silently as she had approached backed off several paces. Then began to walk towards the river once more. She walked with far less stealth than before but was cautious not to over exaggerate her approach either. The scuffs of her thin-soled leather shoes over rock and letting the light and loose tan garments she wore catch on a dry bit of shrub to rustle faintly. When she finally did round the vegetation separating her from the body and sworded elezen she let her black gaze fall first to the body, doing her best to feign a look of surprise. She couldn't quite muster a look of fear but she lets the slight apprehension she felt -wondering if she was making the right decision by showing herself- show through on her black skinned features as she shifted her gaze to the paler elezen. Her hands moved slowly, keeping her empty palms visible and hovering a bit away from the satchel that hung across her shoulders and the hilts of the small daggers at her hips in a show of peace. Her accent is strong but her words are still clear when she finally speaks in a mature and deep feminine voice that bordered on sultry, "I suppose zat zis is where I 'ope you are a bounty 'unter and not a bandit, no?"
  3. *gets Berrod and Caleb COMPLETELY SHITFACED* *shoves into ceremony chapel* *makes certain the priest is a quality Hildibrand impersonator for the perfect Vegas Platinum Mirage wedding* *records for lulz later*
  4. I think I found Titor's bird form: And have some FABULOUSLY CUTE:
  5. I RP to get outside the humdrum of RL. To have fun. To collaborate and connect with others. I suppose I've been (and possibly a lot of you did) 'role playing' since I was young. For example: my sis and I made pokemon trainer characters who were siblings traveling together and had all sorts of adventures. Usually turning the world of pokemon into a much more gritty version of one of our favorite TV shows. Going back further: We had -hoards- of stuffed animals/plastic toys. In our little world they came to life and each had their own personalities, histories, friends, enemies, etc. They certainly weren't anything close to refined or even good, of course. And our characters tended to mature as we matured. But we were still taking on persona that was not our own and creating stories and keeping continuity. Then puberty hit and it was 'not cool' to do such pretend things. The late teens hit and I got into White Wolf with a group of folks that I'm still friends with today. (my first campaign was also a Vampire the Masquerade game.) And discovered it was a much more structured version of the sort of thing I'd done with my sis when I was young. And wondered why I ever quit. Stuck with the structured stuff for quite a while until I started playing LotRO and realized there were unstructured but still mature RPs to be had.
  6. On the nineth day of Starlight, The Twelve bequeath to me: Nine broken overmelds; Eight retainers a stealing; Seven Sylvan Sighs; Six Manderville Men; Fiiiiiiive Sultanswoooooooorn; Four Black Mages; Three Grindstone rounds; A two-roll on that sand; And anoooother painful farm party!
  7. To be clear. I am not going to say that this is a -bad- idea and that it shouldn't be done. However there are some wildly different ideas regarding: approaches/base ability/and base potential between the mages I've come across. Some effectively casting Roe sized ice prisons with a flick of the wrist to those needing to channel to cast a basic fireball. Some play around with elemental resistances/weaknesses while others do not. So finding an agreeable system to sort of bring them around to more or less a common level might be difficult. Then there is taking the hits/moderating spells to be 'non-lethal'. While in physical combat it's very easy to tell when someone is goin' too far and going for those truly debilitating or deadly shots. Magic? Eh. Could get tricky. You maybe could do a tournament where mages compete but don't actually fight -each other.- Some sort of aetherical gymnastics course if you will?
  8. Jaques: Strong, aggressive, deliberate, nurturing, protective, confident, loves to fish. Ojune: Patient, optimistic, takes change well, a bit obsessive(lightbulb!), helpful, rotund, and pretty adorable rather than butterfly beautiful. Zabine: Quick. Independent. A graceful elegance and physique that hides an underlying power. Watchful and perceptive. A predator but not a top predator and knows it.
  9. Jaques takes another bite of eggs and shoves the paper away from himself with a snort and a look of irritation. He continues to eat his breakfast as Ojune slides into the seat across from him at the table with his own plate of breakfast. The lalafel's green gaze scanned over the article to give it a quick read. "Oh, the Rose has made the papers. Why so glum? Won't this show that the Rose is able to give back to Ul'dah instead of... well... be a drain like so many view us as?" Jaques just gives a shake of his head, "Maybe. It is too early to tell. But there is no mention of the refugees. Most of the captives were refugees from the camps outside Ul'dah. The -only- reason anyone gives a Twelves-damned thing about this is the fact that Rissen got greedy and took a few rich city-folk." "Probably so. But that doesn't change the fact that a menace was ultimately taken care of. The refugees have their allies. They have been taken care of since they were freed, right? Returned to -their- families?" "They have..." "Then celebrate the victories! I don't think I've seen you so much as crack a smile since you returned last night. It isn't often that such things go so well!" Jaques shoots Ojune an annoyed glare. With a sigh, "Truly you are impossible. What of Rissen's connections? I know you aren't going to leave that up to the Flames to track..." And so topics turned off the article.
  10. You should tighten it if it's loose! As to the question, my connection comes naturally! Shhhhhh, that never happened.
  11. Going over the lore available for each race and subrace I fell in love with the Duskwights. So I built a char concept and BOOM JAQUES. Ever since hobbits I have a soft spot for the tiny people. Even tho in this game the way they walk/run really bothered me for a long time. But I've gotten used to it over time. So I eventually had to make a lalafell but the pupil-less eyes of the Dunesfolk weird me out. And I like the naming conventions best on Plainsfolk. And I had a concept in mind that I still liked after months even tho I had never even created the character so BOOM OJUNE. And I'm -still- really trying to find a female character concept that I can really get behind and play. I'm currently stewing on one and seeing if this one can actually stick.
  12. Usually I find if I'm losing connection its because where I want the character to go is getting muddled and they're in some sort of rutt. Or there is nothing active going on. So... for the last one it's usually because I've had a break in RP. So its just a matter of getting back into RP. The other its a bit more involved. Re-reading background. Seeing where they are at as a person. Where they could grow. Where they can break. What brings them out of whatever comfort zone rutt they're in. Then either finding or creating a small plot going that really makes me engage. RPing with new people helps because I can't predict how this new character is going to react to things. So for a suggestion, you are using a personality type that you've long played. Perhaps do a bit of compare and contrast with how this character is turning our compared how to your SWTOR one did? See what sort of new character or situation your current character can meet or get into and explore new things?
  13. Thank you for hosting! Was good clean fun and I loved hearing all the creativity. Nice job done by all.
  14. Uhhh... I read manymany webcomics... I'll leave smutty smutsmut and other adult comics out of it. You're welcome. I quite like: Strays. The story has been completed for a while but Digger will always be high on my list of webcomics that I adore. I'm quite enjoying Run Freak Run both in narrative and in art style. And finally... Manly Guys Doing Manly Things is good clean fun.
  15. waitwaitwaitwaitwait. o.0 I lead the SCB for a lil over a year as well! WHO WAS YOUR CHAR IN LOTRO I MUST KNOW WHO YOU ARE! (Amarantos/Kirti/Raerlanna tho amarantos was my bandleader char)
  16. Where was this party and why wasn't I invited? IKR?
  17. I did this sort of thing a lot in LotRO. I know it can be done if anyone is familiar with the super long running consistent events that happened (and are still happening) on Landroval server. (Ales and Tales anyone?) It would be very cool to see stuff like that happening in FFXIV. Even in spite of the fact that we don't have that fancy in-game music system. But as Xen said it does take a group of like-minded individuals to really keep up the momentum. A single person tends to get overwhelmed. But if you do start one up, invite me on Ojune. I plan on trying to split my time between my two main chars so I don't know how available I'll be for the flash mob type events. But for planned things I'm certainly interested.
  18. Sounds like a fun time. Count me in on Ojune.
