Soups, chilis and stews are always good to try out first. But if you wanna give those frying pans a go then try following the directions you find on the flavor packets you find at the grocery store. That's how I started out. The Asian sections will usually have things like general tso's chicken and/or mongolian beef flavor packets. The Mexican section has fahita/taco flavor mixes, etc. They're usually quite simple. Olive oil, a meat and one or two varieties of vegetable. But they are also very flexible so you can easily experiment with type and variety of veggie you add/use.

The only thing I really thought when I saw the males was: Great... they gave my elezen bara slider to the Au Ra. THANKS SE. >:c I doubt I'll be rolling one and am interested how they're going to suddenly incorporate a new race into an existing setting. I'm not really a fan of games/worlds that do that as a general rule since it always just seems either too downplayed or so overplayed to be annoying. And why add yet -another- race when the current races still have a lot of history/interactions to explore? So. It'll be interesting at least.

So much this. To the point that I'd rather -not- get anything from anyone. Ever. And is why my default response has been: gift card to 'x'. And I hate that people have a hang-up on giving giftcards. Like they're somehow not a 'real gift.' So I have to come up with an actual item. x.x

tools: serrated knife 2 gallon sized ziploc bags slow cooker baking sheet covered in aluminum foil. broiler ingredients: ~3lb rack of pork ribs Marinade of choice BBQ sauce of choice Pepsi or Beer of choice 1 small yellow onion cut in large chunks. Black pepper. Fresh and roughly ground is best but even preground fine stuff will work. Salt. Take a rack of pork ribs. Cut up into 5-6 chunks. Split into the gallon sized bags. Add marinade to both bags and marinate overnight in zee fridge. I usually just use Stubbs brand Beef marinade because I usually don't have the ingredients to make my own. And I'm lazy. Next day pull ribs out of marinade. Salt and Pepper both sides of each piece to personal preference. I love black pepper so I end up going a bit heavy with it. Place ribs in slowcooker. Place onion chunks in slowcooker. Add about a half cup of marinade to slowcooker. Add about a cup of either the beer or the pepsi to slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours. Cook on low for ~7-8 hours. Add more liquid partway through if it seems to be going dry but you should be fine. Make sure rack is in the upper 1/3 of oven and preheat broiler. Pull ribs out of slowcooker and carefully and arrange on a foil lined baking sheet. Discard onions/liquid. Baste both sides of ribs in a liberal coating of your BBQ sauce of choice. Again I use Stubbs brand and either original or smokey mesquite since I don't like really sweet BBQ sauces. They don't have as much sugar and don't use any high fructose corn syrup like other brands tend to. And I'm too lazy to experiment and make my own BBQ sauces. Place ribs under broiler. Watch them carefully. You want the BBQ sauce to caramelize but not burn. Usually takes mine about... 3-4 mins? Something like that. Remove from oven and nom. I usually do some sort of mashed garlic potatoes and corn or rosemary roasted root veggies to go with them. But it's a pretty easy way to make ribs when you don't have a grill. And leftover rib meat makes -excellent- toasted sandwich material.

The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales

I usually tank so I'll keep this in mind in the things I run. Try it out and see how it goes. And to be extra clear in my original post... I wasn't really talking about some minor spinning by tanks dodging or anything like that. I don't usually mind those and can usually predict/keep up with such things. I'm talking the tanks(plural. yes. it's happened more than once.) Who will run continuous small circles, like a sort of half-assed kiting type thing as they spam OP and/or Flash. Like the latest one was an AK run where the guy was pulling on average of 2 groups at once was all. Then running around as I just said. Draggin things all over the place do 'reduce damage'. It was... 'fun'. -
The Vent Tent - Poor PuGs and Other Terrible Tales

Dear tank in that one PuG, Please stop spinning/moving the mobs when you have melee DPS in the group. I don't care that you're taking a little bit less damage. The healer can deal with a bit of autoattack damage. Really and truly. AND LETS BE HONEST YOU'RE TAKING MORE DAMAGE NOW BECAUSE YOU'RE TAKING EVERYTHING OUT OF MY RANGE AND I CAN'T KILL THINGS EFFICIENTLY WHICH MAKES THE FIGHT GO LONGER. Really. Stop moving them at all. You look like a twitchy spaz. Sincerely, The MNK that kept bitching at you. -
Jaques keeps a tight grip on Vaughn's hand as he drags the other elezen through the crowds of the early evening in Ul'dah. Having pulled him away from whatever stall he'd been browsing. "Lydie! LYDIE!" A pause, cutting off anything Vaughn might be saying or trying to say as Jaques turns and demands, "Enie, did you see which way she went?" He blinks as he gets a good look at who he was dragging around before confusion clouds his features. Vaughn gives Jaques a bewildered look at the sudden change in the man. Still he forces a smile. "Are...are you alright, Jaques? I...haven't seen you act...like this before." Stares at Vaughn as he seems to come back to himself and the confusion clears. He was sweating and his heart was pounding. He shakes his head before looking around the area trying to get his bearings. They were down a different section of the markets and he couldn't place exactly where they were. Another shake of his head, "Fine... Vaughn. I'm fine." "You...don't seem fine." He tries to reach up to caress his face. "What...what's going on in that mind of yours? You're worrying me." Pulls away to avoid the touch. "I told you I see them... Just not normally when you're around." He was overheating despite the fact that the evening air had cooled quite a bit from the burning heat of midday. There were too many people. He starts to pull Vaughn down a side alley at random. Frowns slightly and follows, holding Jaques's hand tightly. He was still worried, and now starting to panic a bit, wondering where Jaques was leading him, but not saying anything until they reach whatever destination the man decided.

After Miryn supplied her name and finished speaking she spoke up as she unfolded the note, "Zabine." Zabine's read through the note is interrupted by the latest stranger to approach. Her brow raising a bit as she studied the scarred fighter. Something about him made her uneasy. Her eyes traveled to his blade and then back to the wounds on the corpse in front of her. Trying to see how sharp a blade or claw had rent the man's light armour. Her gaze flickered to the other Duskwight's boots. Then to the baked earth around them, trying to see if the body being so close to the riverbank had left any noticeable tracks that might match the towering specimen of her kind with his... notebook? Or grimoire? The others were talking again and she only listened enough to know that none of them were addressing her directly. Miryn was irritated. The miqo'te keeping up his unflappable and vaguely antagonistic front. Letting out a slow breath she focuses her mind, trying to block out the oppressive heat and the chaotic aether the area seemed to thrum with in it's notes of discord. Likely caused by the giant crystal structures looming behind the cliffs behind her. If he was about to cast something she wanted to perhaps feel it coming.

Game Title: Gelmorra Game Type: survival horror Platform: 3DS, Wii U Plot Summary: Take control of Ojune Wajune, a lalafel explorer and scholar after he's fallen into deep sub-rings(levels) of the ancient ruins of Gelmorra. But beware! Traps, puzzle locks, and many twisted and grotesque creatures and worse have taken up residence in the ancient, abandoned city. It will take all your wits and skills to find your way back to the surface all while avoiding the thing that really drove the duskwight from the depths of the city centuries ago. Special ability: Fairy summoning. Fairies are indispensable to your quest to the surface. Not only will they serve as your light source (beware what they can sometimes attract!) but they will heal and support you in combat. And depending on which fairy you have summoned will affect all three of your survival stats differently. Eos is better for healing but will drive your aether sickness bar up quicker. Selene can help mitigate damage with shields and can even reduce fatigue but cannot heal. Enemies: Strange beasts and fungus that are perfectly adapted to life in the pitch black darkness, humanoid beings that may have once been duskwight, and the lurking evil that you can feel closing in around the edges of your mind. Features: Manage your survival stats if you want to live! Health- both monsters and things in the environment want to kill you and when you take damage the only way to heal is with Eos or minorly by resting. Fatigue- having a fairy summoned slowly increases the fatigue gauge as does casting spells. Each hour rested reduces this gauge. Aether sickness- spell effects, cursed items, and some monster abilities cast on you will in increase the aether sickness gauge. Let it get too high and your damage decreases and even the spells you cast will increase the gauge. Let it get higher and you'll start attracting terrible and unnamed horrors to yourself. Resting reduces this gauge but at a slower rate than fatigue. Smart pet AI allows you to set parameters for you active fairy and leaves you free to focus on your own spells. Each of the seven unique rings boast hours of gameplay and have several different paths you can take and rooms to explore to reach the next level up. Making each play through unique! Solve intuitive but challenging puzzles to bypass enemies, find items and treasure, learn more about what befell the ancient city, disarm the many traps that lay in the deep, and unlock achievement items that can help you in your next playthrough. When you do find yourself in combat the lower screen/gamepad screen switches to your grimoire. Use the stylus to complete the geomancy symbols to cast spells and survive! -
How would your character handle being ill?
DreamedReality replied to Shayrei's topic in Character Workshop
Jaques gets extra cranky when not feeling well and good luck getting him to stay in bed. Ojune would cover it up with potions/spells as much as possible and just carry on. Distracting himself with intellectual pursuits or storywriting. Zabine would seclude herself away to attempt to not spread it around. If not contagious then she'd keep herself quiet until feeling recovered/follow whatever doctor/healer's orders she needed to. -
Jaques tries and tries to gain more control over how much energy is released when he uses aether. But he just can't get it. His handwriting is -horrible- and sometimes he does try to work on it... Not that it helps much at all.

A small cant of her head as she watches the man approach. Listens to his words. Cocky. After his question she mimics his casual tone, "What do your eyes and nose tell you?" She casts a glance to the wildwood before shifting to be by the body, keeping a cautious distance between herself and the other elezen. Crouching near it with her back to the river she picks up the piece of parchment that Miryn had dropped to give it a quick read.

(sorry for posting late. family stuff.) "Bounty hunter or a bandit... Has something happened? This area was relatively peaceful when I last came through." Zabine slowly eased her posture as she found the wildwood also doing so and gave a small shrug at the question. "I am new to ze area. I would not know. But ze Quicksand had no shortage of warnings and bounties listed on zeir board. Several about ze beast-people back zat way." a small motion behind herself. "It would not seem zhat this land is free from strife." Her gaze flickered down to the corpse once again, "No clues to who--" A bit of movement caught her attention and she turned her dark gaze to the equally dark skinned miqo'te that had come to stand a distance away. She doubted the man was the killer largely to the hesitation he seemed to show about getting nearer and how openly he showed himself. Until knowing more she kept her tone light and neutral. Talking louder, letting her voice carry, she looks back to the wildwood, "I did not sink zat zis area would be so popular."

Many others have posted their concepts for their DW character's here for consideration so post away. And since we've necroed: I do have a link to a tumblr post that might be of interest to fellow DW rpers. And even fellow WW rpers. Where a fan pinned Fernehawles down and asked a few questions about the DW/WW split, gelmorra, and and such. http://gelmorra.tumblr.com/post/100948251705/lore-bomb

Since I see nowhere on the site that mentions holiday orders expectations: If anyone does plan on making these a holiday gift.... Order -immediately-. And -maybe- it'll arrive before christmas. But also be prepared for the possibility that someone(or you) is getting their gift late. 3D printing takes time and their general FAQ lists a general delivery time of 2-4 weeks depending on order volume. IF they are similar to shapeway's then the high detail plastic will take longer to manufacture than the strong plastic. 3D printing is a fascinating bit of technology and I've ordered several different things from other places. Thanks for the heads up on this site. Once I recover from the holidays I'll probably be getting some figures printed up!
