On my server in AoC, there was actually a harlot guild that managed to pull it off well for a while, and actually be one of the more respected guilds on the server. People would hire them for parties, for discrete ERP, or black curtain stuff (just for IC progress), to flirt with them for an evening or stuff like that, and they were really professional about it. Then it started going down hill, and they got a lot of members who were mainly interested in relationships with each other and very public, very explicit ERP. In general though, those kind of guilds are just... Scary.

Actually, despite having roleplayed several characters over the past year, Vahsyl and me haven't really roleplayed romance either for a long while. But I haven't really roleplayed romanticly with anyone else either. Maybe I'm just not romantic anymore Actually, IF I roleplay romance, it's usually never completely happy. I find that if you end up in a relationship where everything is just perfect, it tends to get very boring to roleplay after a while. In roleplay that is, in real life, I very much enjoy not having drama in my relationship

Well, I'm personally open to all friendships! Especially since I've felt weird about doing real romance since I got into a serious relationship <.< I know, I know, keep IC and OOC seperate, but still. Light flirting or something for the sake of a storyline might be fine, but going into a well developed relationship would just feel weird to me. So friendships, bring them on!

Never having played the game, I actually think they do. At least from some of the stories I've heard <.< I still think one of the worst things I've tried was a guy on ARP commenting on my characterprofile that he wanted to "liprape" my character or something along the line. While applying to our guild. I was mortified. And hehe, yeah, I do know a little slang. But the first time Iroh said something about "Stepping" or "stepping up" or something, as a joke, I was one big question mark

Hehe Ormea Wing was fun, yeah. It's a shame that I never really got to develop Shadiya more, she could have been fun. But it was at a time where I couldn't really be on for the events very often. And now I'm curious about who it was But... I think I maybe can sort of guess. There WAS a lot of melodrama on Lumiel from time to time, lots of dramatic people <.<

One thing that drives me crazy is characters who show a great deal of interest in you, and as soon as they discover you're not interesting in roleplaying relationship with them, they lose interest. It doesn't have to be ERP, some people are just only interested as long as the possibility for some relationship melodrama is there. Another thing is people being overzealous about ERP, hehe. While I completely agree that it's annoying when people do it in public, or don't care about anything else than ERP, I've seen rp guilds starting "hunts" for ERP'ers, going to all the private and remote areas and publicly call out anyone talking privately there, mocking them, interrupting them, etc. To me, if they've gone out of the way to find a private spot AND are talking in /tell or /group, I don't give a damn, and I find it stupid to call them out on it. Then you're just being a douche.

I think that's very true, Averis. A lot lies in the presentation, and it's much more effective to SHOW that you're a lone wolf, than to tell it. And while Baltazar's Favor do involve a ship... I don't think we're pirates. No, I'm pretty sure we're not pirates, even if Seraj might have pirating tendencies

Hmm, I think we just say "Open Pandora's box"... We do have a really gross saying though, for when something is bottling up and finally something happens and hell breaks lose. "Now the ulcer bursted". I don't know if ulcer is the right word, but it seemed to be close enough

Yay, 300! That's pretty impressive really, and if everyone sticks around for launch, it could be some really big roleplay events

Oh, I completely agree with that! I just don't get where you get the 25 years from. The primals appeared 10 years ago. But about the Garleans, I think you're right that that is something happening right now. So... The 15 years are not right either? It's a bit confusing really, because they change back to "Seeking", though that could just mean that it happened... Well, a month ago, or a year. I hope we get some more clear lore, as I, and I'm sure many others, plan to have their character coming from Ala Mhigo, and it would be nice to know roughly how old your character was when the destruction happened.

It says on the homepage that the primals arrived 10 years ago, so that one should be pretty accurate. The fall of Ala Mhigo is a bit more unclear though.

Iroh should be in Europe too sometime during the fall. We're working on it, but the danish immigration laws sucks so badly.

I'll probably be going Limsa Lominsa, seem to finish our guild story best, and I really like how it looks ^^

I'm not gonna get into the vocal discussion, and just say that while I adore a lot of Nightwish's older stuff (Over the Hills and Far Away still being one of my favorites), the Prophet and the Pendulum is probably the Nightwish-album I listen to the most. But okay, I'm not as "hardcore" anymore as I was in High School I do think it's a shame that an actually pretty good album by many wasn't given a chance because of the lead singer drama <.< I'm gonna change the direction a bit, and say that music that moves my heart is very often classical. Verdi's Requiem is fantastic (Just listen to ) Stravinski's Firebird is one of my favorites, and if you don't have the patience to hear all of it, Disney used a pretty nice suite of it in Fantasia 2000. While I don't listen to a lot of Le Carnival des Animaux, I adore . Of course there's a lot more, but I'll start with these.

It might have some influence, but since FFXIV seem to put so mucn focus on the freedom, I doubt they would limit it completely. I know Iroh has been wondering the same, but I'm sure that, even if the main class hub is in one city, you'll have the possibility to pick another starting city too without nerfing yourself too much. That's just my speculations though.

I guess I SHOULD have changed Australia for Canada. Damn my poll making skills.
