On a whole, we know that the Garleans seem to have an affinity for guns. Gunblades, gunmechs of all kinds, welding guns into their armour all over the place... and I assume once musketeer/cavalier shows up, they'll have some sort of pistoleer proper. My question would be... what about more "traditional" firearms? Instead of bows, would they carry rifles? Pistols? Would they have more high-powered guns like sniper rifles? It seems, on a whole, that if they have big mechs with rockets, missles, auto-fire and all that, can pretty much go "This armour looks bland. Let's glue guns all over it!" and just basically like shooting things in general, it'd be a bit absurd not have more... conventional means of fire for proper Garlean soldiers (ie, pure-blooded or those born, raised and trained by the Empire - not the people of other nations press-ganged into service at whatever time in their lives). After some more deliberation on it, though, I figured I'd ask for more opinions. After all, if they already have pistols in Eorzea, then Garlemald has all manner of means to make things go boom or put holes in things... it would only make sense. And it would hardly be the first time in Final Fantasy we've had people bringing knives to a gunfight and vice versa. So... what do you guys think? Are bows too "old hat" for an Empire that adds guns onto basically any blank surface (exaggeration, but the point stands)?

Haha, nice. The way I described it to a friend was: For Hellsguard, use Adjective Noun and make it sound sort of tribal or somesuch. For Sea Wolves, make a nearly unpronounceable name with a shitload of the letter Y. This explains it much more intelligently. Kudos. X-D

They can't fix token stuff over email. I've been locked out of the game for the last few days (though this is my fault as I'd not saved the reset password and wound up needing to replace my phone). I got an email back just now telling me that it's a matter that cannot be handled via email, rather by chat or phone. It went on to suggest that I have my ticket number, regardless, to attempt to expedite the process (though I don't see what good that'll do with those methods). Good luck. Unfortunately, due to work, I really can't do a thing because their hours of operation are nearly exactly what I'll be asleep Friday during the day so I can work overnight. X-D;;

We're looking, now, at the following: All the servers are full again. Every single one. Errors 2002, 3102, 90k (the random one, not just run-of-the-mill DCs), and 1017 are everywhere. Latency issues, to the point of lagging out for a solid few minutes. This... sadly, only fixed things for an hour at best. And then it all broke again.

Welp. I'm officially unable to attend. =-/ Got screwed over by some attempted identity theft (that, thankfully, my bank stopped). My bank card wound up deactivated to keep anything from happening... but go figure, mere hours later, Squeenix decided to finally bill me (two days after release) for my pre-order... only to have it declined. Soonest I can get a new copy of the game, now, is Tuesday due to holiday weekend. Short of someone miraculously being generous and giving me their code (due to, who knows, not getting in or whatever) or some other kind of outstanding happening, I am officially fucked for this weekend. Sorry. =-/ I was really looking forward to coming, too...

Eh, I, for one, have been shown it could be MUCH worse. Due to a bit of attempted identity fraud, my bank card was deactivated as a safety measure by my bank while I am sent a new one. Squeenix decided to bill me for my preorder mere HOURS after this. Two days AFTER release. Needless to say, it was declined. So they locked out my account due to possibly suspicious activity and my ability to play was revoked entirely. Now, in order to get in by tomorrow, I'm stuck nursing an eBay auction for the Digital Collector's Edition that is, at current, gonna wind up running me $90. But if I can get in by the start of my shift tonight, it's worth it, and I'll have the CE stuff to boot. ...that is if this jerkoff that wants to resell it doesn't eventually outbid me in the next hour... But if I have to shell out the extra scratch... well... at least I JUST got paid. ; Yay PayPal and linking directly to a bank account. More on topic, though, I am hoping they at least decide to give some free transfers. I've seen a lot of people that rolled on Gilgamesh because their chosen server filled up first. Those people could leave to make room, and the same with all the others who don't want to be there either due to overpopulation or whatever have you (can't stands us nasty RPers, precious /gollum), and the same goes for Balmung, I'll bet. We'll have room, I should hope - even if it means people simply reroll on different servers to make room on our two servers.

Actually, I was drawn to the Arcanist's RP value in the brains behind it all, the versatility both in playing and RP, and the nigh-limitless possibility of an entirely mathematically-based method of aether manipulation (read: MAGICKS *wiggle fingers*). Carbuncle... I don't care one way or the other. it's a facet of the class. Corelyn uses hers more like an omni-purpose tool/pet than a Pokemon. She's not about to go sic it on some creature, then sit back. She's more apt to do her thing and just let her Carbuncle go apeshit in its own way without giving it straight-up commands.

Oooh yeah. I love me some Blue Mage. Though I did love running around as Blue Mage Sub Red Mage claiming I was a PURPLE MAGE! Out of old FFXI jobs, I really hope we see Ninja, Samurai, Blue Mage, Red Mage, and Dark Knight. -nod nod- some of my faves right there. Purple Mage! lmao! That's awesome. Never played XI, but I've definitely got my fingers crossed for some of those in the future (along with a musketeer and thief class).

This needs stickied. Seriously. People need to read this not once, but anytime a doubt of any kind arises. I've been RPing for bloody years and have encountered every single on of those things and seen all those strategies, but it is a wonderful thing to have it all written down in one place as a definitive guide, not just for newbies, but for veterans who may forget themselves in a moment of frustration. Seriously. Sticky this. Please. EDIT: Also, sometimes, the best thing you can do to trolls is to actually pause your RP so long as no one else involved is bothered by that, and -play along-. Fight fire with fire. Turn what the troll is trying to bother you with into something amusing, something silly that you can laugh at. They spam AoEs at you? Spam them back. They strip and start "air-humping" you? Play along. It might last a bit, but eventually, they'll realize they aren't getting to you and will give up. Being a troll myself (not to -actually bother- other RPers, though!), it's easier for me to understand and to do, and a little easier for me to keep it up until that point. lol
