  1. Welcome, Ricky! I agree with Kirakira, I don't see why that would be a problem. Also, I think you can use the World Visit System to bring your character to a different server for an RP event if you like.

One of Madame Pholnaset's legit talents is animal charming (snakes and rats especially) so I'm trying to put together a special street performer costume which will also serve as an OOC cosplay of the Pied Piper.
  3. Welcome aboard Percevains! You have a well thought out character and I'm certain your experiences with RP could be of great help to those who are a little shy about getting started. Even in story your character is well suited to guiding characters who could use a helping hand, which I think is awesome! I hope you're able to find a Free Company that at least leans towards lawful good, it feels like the landscape is missing something without that sort of group being around. Elder Scrolls Online was in a similar spot a while back where groups devoted to the more benevolent deities were comparatively few.
  4. Greetings to you Keaira, I hope your return to FFXIV and its RP community is both entertaining and memorable! I'm sorry that you no longer have your old account, I hope your new account serves you well as you rediscover FFXIV and interact with its community whose positive reputation has been well earned. The rebirth theme is prominent in A Realm Reborn so your return with a fresh account could be seen as an extra layer of meta.
  5. Thanks, Kirakira! I'm mainly on the Mateus server but I can see myself leveling some alts on Balmung as well at some point. I love that one character can master everything FFXIV has to offer, but I still love making alts. Especially in a game that has such a robust wardrobe system. ^.^

    A Familiar Face

From the album: Guises of a Kitsch Con Artist

Phane's outfits often reflect and celebrate the colours and features of Thavnair. She's especially fond of donning various shades of purple and incorporating Giantsgall into clothing and tools. Phane wears many masks but her love for Thavnair and its people rings true.

In some parts of Ul'dah this could be considered one of her more socially acceptable outfits. As a con artist with a lot of debt, and constantly on the run from Johnny Law, Madame Pholnasest is a master of disguise! She wears outfits like this to blend into wealthy communities where few would think to look for her. And if she plays her cards right she can rope in a few marks while she's there.
  8. From the album: Guises of a Kitsch Con Artist

This outfit fits squarely between 'rogue of the seas' and 'card reader who will skip town before your fortune has a chance to not come true.'
  9. From the album: Guises of a Kitsch Con Artist

Madame Pholnaset is fond of wearing this while peddling her questionable kitsch products. The imitation gold details cause more impressionable customers to think she has amassed a small fortune of goods during her travels. Her often gaudy collection of wares includes everything from cheap perfume to replicas of famous (or fabricated) artifacts often passed off as being genuine.
  10. From the album: Guises of a Kitsch Con Artist

This outfit is designed to make her seem more worldly and well traveled than she is. If ever pressed for information on a robe or earring she's acquired from a distant land she'll likely claim that The Calamity robbed her of some of her memories, even though that's not how it works.

    Story Arch

From the album: Guises of a Kitsch Con Artist

Although a favorite pastime of Madame Pholnaset she's not nearly as proficient in archery as her sister Viridian. She believes her magical abilities have placed her beyond the reliance on such a crude form of offence and usually engages in archery for mere sport. Viridian has deep rooted issues with her sister's reckless indulgence concerning magic use and doesn't even trust herself with the practice of it. It's for this and a score of other reasons that the two avoid one another.
  12. From the album: Guises of a Kitsch Con Artist

This outfit is Madame Pholnaset's knock-off Blue Mage garment that she alleges comes from The New World. And of course, because this is Madame Pholnaset, the outfit is glitzy and over-the-top. ^ ^ So why is Madame Pholnaset doing this? The reason is that she needs new rare and exotic goods to imitate and sell. She used to get by faking items from Ishgard and Doma and few were the wiser, but when trade opened with those city states, and their associated territories, products from those lands became more common. Consumers also became more savvy with regards to authenticity and fair pricing. This cost Madame Pholnaset quite a bit of business so now Madame Pholnaset is peddling counterfeit exotics from The New World.
  13. I'm new to FFXIV and I've been having a great time with the game so far! I've been reading up on the lore and setting, which have been very inspiring, and I'm hoping to give RPing a go before too long. I think I should at least finish the Main Quest for Stormblood first though so I'll be more caught up on current events in the story. Hopefully I can contribute something positive and mutually enjoyable to the FFXIV RP community.
