  1. Just an off the wall response to So...why so many Miqo'te? Maybe it is because you look for them? Like that car or coat that you think is exclusive, only to find that when you own one you notice them far more.
  2. Seems they upped it at launch to 16.
  3. I had written a fair bit but I felt there was one thing that probably needed adding hear. The game is for 12 and up 16 and up (edit: seems they changed it at release) This forum is for 13 and up

    Hiya

Howdy! Your list sounds very much like mine, and was WoW the US servers? I played on SWC EU side since they opened it, and recently did a sting on the US WA with a friend. Also dial up RP, though mine started in *mumbles about the 90s*, it has come a long way since them and some of the "now" games are quite scarily cooperative. My tips for RP on Balmurg: 1. 6. Answer first: 1. Allows me to play a non-human 2. I like the mix of cute and feral (flight or fight, smiles with fangs etc..) 3. The Keeper concept of female leaders I also like and play them as nurturing leaders rather than the more male stereotype of owners/winners. 4. I play an individual that borrows from the stereotype, so I play Nebbs.. not some cat girl. Explanation: I prefer to play the non-human as that allows for the use of more "alien" perspectives on things. So in my past I have gone elf, twi'lek, undead etc.. The character has to also find me, it has to have a personality and at least a sketch of a background. I don't plat the toon because of it's look, other than they represent the character. In my experience the RP reward is playing the individual, their feelings and reasoning, and not simply playing the part of the toon. There are other ways to RP, this is my preference.
  7. Why not, it costs nothing and it benefits all to be clear on a thread that may have sensitive content. So simple tags make things unambiguous. Well, okay...but there's no sensitive content in this thread. Good I'm glad we are ok

  9. I think from all this maybe there is something about thread subject marking. Not saying they apply to this thread but somthing might. [Adult] [ERP] [Graphic] [Violence] [~Pegi 18]
  10. I now have my Relic Bow and Scholar Tome. However, if you do want to pull a team together for this sort of thing please feel free to invite, and I will come if I can.
  11. Gone with the Fairies Burning Love To Kill a Thing
  12. That's a lovely shot, Clover! Here's mine...not so lovely haha. Eeeek! Rinh in a snowman!
  13. I did think you could play a kit who despises men and uses this to get close for some cutting.
  14. Generally RP your way, and if that is the main hero of the land, so be it. That all works well until you want to RP with others and they need to accept your proposition. So in order to gain a broad acceptability it is advisable to: 1. Not be unique, so be one of the many heroes rather than "the" hero 2. Not tie yourself to any in game persons, so have your mentor to be like those in the game but not the actual ones 3. Avoid unique/specific organisation, so not the Scions but a similar group 4. Have some faults, in fact if you only do one thing.. do this. Faults that mean you need others to achieve things, this promotes a need to interact etc.. Find those you like to RP with and adjust your style to suit. I find some compromise (give and take) goes much further than trying to define rigid rules.
  15. Great event, I have a few to follow up around plot, meat an old friend, and some interesting folks were met. Thanks to all from my into macro.. /tell I'm Nebbs, Bard or Eorzia, Singer of Spells, former Archer and Axe fumbler. /tell Nebbs bows with an exaggerated flourish /bow motion
  16. If you define your life by posting here.. I agree But seriously.. I do.
  17. Hi Ely, Welcome to RP! You probably got a lot of good advice on engaging etc.. so I'll just take a moment to maybe offer some cautions points. 1. Find a good group and stick with them There are as many ways to RP as there are people and you will find quite a bit you won't like. So find a group you feel comfortable with and RP with them while your confidence builds. 2. Avoid the main areas Some may say Nooo! to this but to be honest these areas are a melting pot of styles and could either confuse, overwhelm or just plain upset and infuriate you. If you do go there, have a thick skin, and roll with the punches. 3. Have a simple story to tell Have a simple ordinary story that is easy for you to tell and that others can relate to (and you seem to have that). Great RP comes from ordinary people in extraordinary situations, which is not an absolute but is a good place to start. That way you can play the "ordinary" while you get a feel for your style and the way things work. 4. RP There is no substitute As you get comfortable then you can branch out far more.
  18. To be honest if it is a premade we tend to IC dungeon, otherwise maybe just some IC comments here and there. I do run a few with Ilwe'ran that sort of IC for us, more a backdrop that they "adventure". Also if you can work the theme of the dungeon into your activity that works really well. I have also (in SWTOR) done ones where several parties his the same or different dungeons and have to coordinate progression to achieve some bigger goal. They take some organisation but can be great fun and engaging.
  19. Here is one Ilwe'ran posted on my wall on enjin.

    IG Travel

In the past I have played travel times, and having to track the IC location of your char. I found that overall it got in the way of RP that is based on when people an be on-line. For FFXIV instantaneous travel in part of the game and lore, so I embrace that. I find this helps for a more reactive and fluid RP, but I also accept it does lead to "school yard football" RP, where everyone appears for the RP incident.
  23. The truth is that RP happens in the game and you have to be there to find it. I don't really know many (any) people who scan people's profiles looking for characters to RP with. My advice is join some of the Linkshells that seem to suit you and also get along to the events posted on this site. The events are really good, both Coffer and Coffin and Spreed Meeting doubly so.
