Hello everyone. We now have an archive subsection for events! Ongoing moderation will happen wherein events that have come and gone will be moved to this new section. The events will be allowed to linger for a few days to allow for feedback comments. The threads will always be available to browse so that you can see the details and comments of older events. If a thread is archived that you wish to bring back to the events section, for example something that is becoming or resuming as a recurring event, just send a PM a moderator or use the report feature to request it. You can also always request that your event thread is archived. The [Cancelled] tag will be applied to events that were cancelled, including recurring ones. Specifically for recurring events: If an event-thread belonging to a recurring event hasn't had any posts within the last 2 months, that reflects the status of the event, it'll be moved into the chronicles. Likewise, interest check-threads which have seen no activity for 2 months will also be moved. As always, if you experience any bugs or see something that looks odd, don't hesitate to contact the team.

I have been wondering about how people's relations to the canon lore is, and specifically how far outside of it you go with your characters. Are you fine with bending it a little, do you just do as you please no matter what, and how do you go about it? What drives you or could drive you to go outside of the canon? Feel free to mention examples if you want to, I am genuinely curious on what people have done/are doing that might be considered dubious/sketchy/grey-zone like.

I think you're onto something good with pop-up RP at certain locations. I do see RP out in the world here and there, usually on accident - it's hard to tell if somewhere is a concurrent "hub" so to speak or if it's just a one-off happenstance. To announce it in Partyfinder is still something I consider to be "brave" because I'm always paranoid about griefers, but it'd be a good way to convey something like that. The alternative would be have something akin to the old "Roleplay-happening-right-now"-thread, where you simply bump it anytime you go IC in a location. I've got a pretty versatile set of characters, so I wouldn't mind randomly showing up for something like that.

I have my own collection of lore-links that I've saved away, and also a good deal of links to un-official/fan write-up's of the lore. On top of that, I meticulously screenshot every little in-game lore-tidbit I can, because I like to be able to back up my claims whenever I explain anything. Overall, I mostly rely on my memory, I find lore super interesting and certain details have stuck really well. That said, I don't know everything, so I also end up asking from time to time ^^

I have a medium house in the goblet which isn't being used for anything. I've been meaning to let people use it for whatever events they feel like holding but have no place for (small or large, doesn't matter.) I can be on-hand for decoration changes as long as furniture is provided. It's a FC-hosted house (FC itself is dead) so the furniture can be retrieved with a guildless-character from the CC post-event (joining picking up and leaving, so as to circumvent the "bound" status.) Feel free to prod me, if you can't find any established venues ^^

If you go into the character select screen, you can right click and pick "Save character appearance" (should be called something like that) - then you can load that into a new character creation where you can check their height If you have all slots on Balmung filled, simply pick a new server to check from ^^

Chatting may be a slight challenge, but communication is not impossible. Spring has finally come around, and it's time for the next installment of The Friendly Date Auction. At this auction, you can put yourself up or bid on two kinds of auctions: Friendly dates - Perfect for meeting a new person and getting a new acquaintance. Perhaps a friendship worth telling stories about down the line? Who knows! Romantic dates are for those who haven't found the one yet, but is wanting to give one more shot at a new romantic adventure. Spring is the season for lovers, after all! Food, drink and good company is guaranteed! The lovely staff at The Sword and Skillet is on hand to help and welcome everyone who shows up. No real gil will be used for the auction. Instead, when arriving to the auction, those interested in bidding will be allowed to exchange a small donation of IC gil, to what end they feel fitting, for 100 tokens that will be used for bidding. The tokens are finite and personal, meaning that you will not be able to get additional tokens, and you will not be able to use other people's tokens to bid with. A person can bid on as many auctions as they want until their tokens run out. All donations are passed along to charities and the upkeep of The Sword and Skillet bar. If two or more people bid 100 tokens on one person then the choice falls to the person who is being auctioned off to decide who they want to go with. So think carefully! I encourage everyone to pick up tokens, also people who are otherwise being auctioned off. Are you interested in signing up for an auction?
