Just gonna re-emphasize this. If you're like me, spamming the "recent changes" link to see what's new is somewhat of a habit :lol:. We're aware that the link is presently broken but it should fix itself when Hostgator refreshes the server. I don't know how long this will be. It could be a couple hours or a few days. In the meantime, you can still click the link, then go up to the url bar in your browser and simply change "wikinew" to "wiki" and click enter. It'll take you to the recent changes page. I know it's a pain but it'll be fixed as soon as the server does its thing. -- Nevermind! Already fixed itself! Nothing to see here~ Another new neat thing (and one of my favs) is the new search bar features. Typing in anything will auto-generate pages you may want as you type. This makes searching MUCH easier so give it a shot~ Special thanks to Deir for all her hard work on this~. Also thanks to Xenedra who went through the brutal agony of uploading ALL (or close to all) of your old images one by one into your pages again. Thanks to Mtoto, Gospel, and anyone else who helped with the creation and/or testing of the new wiki!

Hey gang. Just wanted to post a quick 'memo' of sorts to let you know that anyone is allowed to submit featured articles for the front page. Obviously, the "Welcome" block/page and "Artist of the Month" are pretty much taken. The Census block is also taken for now until all the polls are complete. However! That does leave one block (currently occupied by the RP guide for some time now) for grabs. If you'd like to write/submit an article pertaining to anything RP-related, please feel free to PM me at any time. Depending on how many people want to submit things, you COULD end up on a waiting list but I don't think that'll be a real concern. User submitted articles can be submitted now and beyond, including post-launch. Some things to note: --The article must be appropriate for the site (as in, in line with the forum rules). As such, no articles with defamatory content of any sort will be accepted. Contests can also possibly be permitted depending on the nature of the contest. --As the author, you must be prepared for potential criticism if some do not agree with the stance of the article for whatever reason. These debates, if any, should remain civil at all times (and moderators will determine what's "civil" and what isn't). The RPC as an organization prides itself on being supportive of all viewpoints, regardless if the view is in the minority/majority. --Please submit a front page picture (475 x 304 pixels) to go along with the article, along with any other images you wish to be used. --The article must pertain to RP, the RP community, RP events, and/or FFXIV. --NDA remains in effect until phase 3 of the beta begins.

I -think- Mtoto listed all the stuff from 1.0. It then divides the items up by area (based on the old version of the game of course...so some of this may change in 2.0).

NOTE: Please refrain from nitpicking about the wording of the poll and/or the choices presented. It's getting tiresome. These are meant to be fun activities to help reveal where the RP community as a whole lean in certain areas in order to facilitate possible future discussions and ideas. These polls are also a means for RPers to post little blurbs about their character they may not often get the chance to talk about if they so choose. The constant nitpicking over minor details is a major buzzkill for everyone and hardly necessary. It's why people can't have nice/fun things! The fourth census poll focuses on a character's religious leaning. Religion plays a big role in Eorzea. Does it also play a role with your character? In general, which deity does your character favor and/or relate to the most? Options include each of the Twelve, none, other, and multiple. Please feel free to specify with a post~

Moved to RP Discussion forum section since it fits here better~ Originally, Kylin was very much set as a conjurer prior to the lore changes and when it focused more on the elemental aspects over healing. I've since had to gradually get him away from it after they made the changes to the class and put him solidly in the Thaumaturge/Black Mage role. Hailing from a family that's very well versed in magic (and has its roots in Ul'dah), the thaumaturge and black mage fit him perfectly. I never really delved much beyond the mage classes for Kylin (IC nor OOC). For ARR, he's still going to be very skilled in the magical related stuff and so his thaumaturge skills are still going to be at the forefront. However, he'll be switching his primary training into Arcanist/Summoner and become extremely fluid in those abilities, more so than black magic even. Seeing as a portion of these past 5 years was devoted to Ky buffing up, he's also taken up swordplay to an extent. This is mostly exclusive to single-handed swords. While he's certainly not as advanced in the art as others may be, he's much better at it than he was in the past and can stand his ground with more ease when physical combat is closing in on him. He's also going to be pretty good in mining, although that's largely a part of him overseeing excavations (and sometimes museum projects) on behalf of House Felstar more so than actual mining. Summary: Thaumaturge/Black Mage, Conjurer, Arcanist/Summoner, Gladiator, Miner.

Hurray for family trees! This isn't completely finalized yet. Islude is/was married and may have a daughter. And several names aren't finalized yet either (and may not be anytime soon for all I know). It may look odd at certain spots. Particularly the Sarah Mavanix --> Clovis portion. But it's all part of the House Mavanix/Felstar ongoing 'war' back in the day. I also have a Mavanix family tree that's even more complex. Those who joined in on the House Mavanix storyline in game are likely semi-familiar with it. It's no longer really accurate due to the revelation that Cartius, Kylin, and Kylin's siblings are not actually Mavanixs after all. Part III of the census is all about city-state allegiance. Originally, this poll was going to be about character sexuality since numerous people are curious about that. However, I'm pushing that poll back due to the controversial nature of it in hopes of having a drama-free week . I hope to still have the poll later in the census though. Allegiance can mean one of two things that is largely up to you. It could mean where your character resides/lives or it could mean what grand company they're allied with. In general, it's probably better to go with grand company but some may view this in a different way. So feel free to share your thoughts below regarding your character's allegiance! Again, this focuses on your main character. So what country/city-state is he/she loyal to, if any???? EDIT: There are now parts III-B and III-C in the RP Discussion section. They focus on origins and citizenship as opposed to loyalty.

Need clans for the following people in order to finish results and graphs. Either the following people didn't clarify or post, or they were/are still on the fence. If still on the fence, just lemme know what clan you're leaning to as of now. Some of you are likely obvious, but I want to make sure it's official what with all the minor and major retcons some people are doing. My only concern about this is whether it'll split the community or not. I know some people will absolutely not leave Balmung (assuming it still exists) due to their OOC friendships. Other Rpers (like myself personally) will opt to go to the official RP server should SE name one no matter what. So I'm a bit worried about the consequences of an official Rp server. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

The semantics aren't really important for a poll like this. It's not as if our characters are ICly voting themselves. Everyone knows what the terms refer to, and that's all that really matters. Also, having played the game since its first pre-launch, I can say with certainty that there are plenty of references to the class system in general (especially in Ul'dah). There are nobles, poor, and those in between. The terms used OOCly to define those categories aren't really that relevant in this situation. Especially not for an activity that is meant to be fun, give insight to where the RP community leans, and gives people a chance to write a little bit about their character's aspects that they may otherwise seldom get a chance to talk about (in this case, their character's wealth) So let's please not nitpick the little stuff and just enjoy the character descriptions and poll results ^^;

Personally, I'd classify most bandits as lower-class. But that could just be me. I guess another way to word this if one can't figure it out is: how would outsiders generally view the character? ^^

Part II of the RPC Census focuses on character wealth. Note, this does at all relate to your OOC in game wealth. Just as many RPers do not define themselves strictly by their class levels, many also do not use in game gil to define their character's wealth (though some do, which is perfectly fine). This poll, once again, focuses on your primary character only. This is very important to note because some may hail from wealthy families, but their individual character may not be wealthy at all due to being cut off or whatever. So please keep this mind. Character wealth can also fluctuate naturally over a course of time. As such, this poll will reflect characters around the start of ARR's launch specifically. In other words, how is your character entering the RP scene at his/her most economic stable point in regards to wealth? Not all possible options may be available, so please pick the one that best describes your character. I'm purposely keeping this very simplistic. Feel free to respond with a more in depth response to better explain your character's situation! I'm sure people are interested in such explanations!

To change a name on the wiki, all you have to do is click the "Move" button near the "Edit this page" button. Then you just change the name of the page and click the "move page" button to submit it. Simple as that ^^

For those who missed my edit, I'm asking people to respond with their clan so I can factor that into the end results after the poll is over and when I start making the charts. If you don't reply, I'll just send a PM after the poll ends to ask you for your clan so no worries either way 8-) . I can see the list of users who vote in a designated poll and just contact whoever doesn't reply ^^. Nice voter turnout already though! :thumbsup:
