  1. So, curious to know. What does your 'character' do lore wise. I want to see with how this aligns with what you play as in game too. For example: 'John Doe is a Conjurer from Gridania, but I OOC play a White mage to represent this' I am very curious to see how OOC jobs align with actual IC jobs for characters. please select the one that applies the most to your -main- character. My character Gin has beginners lessons in lancer arts but has no real skill for it - she can hold a spear but that's about it, however she is quite an accomplished weaver and often can be found working alongside the guild for extra gil to send back to her family in Mor Dhona. OOC I main Scholar and this has no relation to my character's profession.
  2. This was intentional. They didnt want to give the already ahead characters more of a jump start to create an overly elitist beginning to an expansion. We still got everything they promised. So, I dont see an issue.
  3. If I can in any fashion start a scene for people to react to, I will. Especially on my pompous asshat lalafell; Mahana. She's a massive asshat. 100% asshat. 10/10 would punch her in the face with a rake. However my other characters often need to ask for directions or the locals on where to find X or Y items or supplies in the wilderness. But yeah, I often make some sort of comment like "Theres enough of them standing in a circle to cast a super spell.. I wonder if that is what they are doing. Standing, quietly around the tables."
  4. We have a DRK, seems theres a lot of DRKS and not a lot else - so whatever is comfortable. This is mostly for a Savage group. So having a diverse mix would be best,
  5. Sweet! If you have friends who'd be interested let them know too.
  6. THIS SO VERY MUCH HOLY SHIT THANK YOU But In japanese she speaks japanese jk. In all seriousness, I rolled my character before we had any Doman lore, nor met any NPCs. So since lore has been added i've adjusted. Those whom I roleplay with however I do try and persuade them to mimic NPC dialogue if possible. Knowledge is power. ^^
  7. Also, you can't just disregard things that happen in game. So what your 6'0 character can get pummeled by a 3'5 person. this is a fantasy game, the real world physics dont apply. The lore has shown that lalafells are as strong as Hyur. Deal with it. But to simply acknowledge your character is inherently stronger due to size? that's a little dismissive.
  8. Seeing as some of the most famous and successful sumo wrestlers are near half the size of their opponents? I have to disagree.
  9. [align=center] The Amphitheater presents is an establishing small company of performers which aims to do - once a fortnight or once a month (depending on availability) parts of well known plays for the larger community of Eorzea. :chocobo::chocobo::chocobo:
  10. I have one of everything, so uhh. I don't know how I fit on here.. I do however roleplay my Hyur more, but I just feel more comfortable being a majority lore-wise race of the game.
  11. 1st point: Its been said in the storyline, well shown more so than said that lalafells are as physiclly strong as most hyurian men. They have been shown in 1.0 and other quest lines in 2.0 to be as capable at combat as the next person. In fact, Lalafell in 1.0 could throw people overboard etc in the limsaian storyline. 2nd point: Yes, 100% agree. I try and encourage it but most people don't rend to bite on it.
  12. Yeah, I actually hang out in Mor Dhona when RPing my two Au Ra refugees, and had expected it to become a hub for Au Ra RPers. Was kinda surprised to find no one else there >.< .... A group of auri sometimes roleplay at the refugee camp just outside of Ul'dah, in Central Thanalan, you can try that place. I've been trying to lure people into that spot, but they don't seem interested I try to rp where I can for my characters - I encourage others to try rping in Mor Dhona and other areas too. ><
  13. Well yes, I do want us to have fun however. But I do not think that wishing a diverse group is hindering on that aspect of raiding. Also - this is not just for 'normal' mode, this is for savage mode and the like later where pugging members is not always the best option as it can throw of the entire vibe with those whom are normal. I'm not trying to slight anyone but for certain situations yo need certain classes and the skills they bring. A PLD, WAR and DRk all tank differently ad have different focuses. A BRD and MCH both bring utility to the party through restoration of mana and the like while a bard has more due to foes requiem. As I said, we still have a week before we begin to run together.
  14. Hotaru would demand the glass be then half orange juice.
  15. Not only that, but so long as both sides are amicable about the whole matter it can provide an interesting diversion or a later storyline hook to actually follow through with the question. Why IS your character there? Do they have their visas and a work permit, or the rough equivalent? What are they doing in the fancier quarters of the city? Etc, etc, etc. It's all fun little things to think about really and who knows! You might find a very good reason for them to be there. I mean it's one thing to have someone outright attack you over these issues, but if it comes up in regular RP is there really any harm in following through with it? Unless of course it's not to your taste, then a simply talk over PM explaining your stance will go a much longer way than blowing up at the other person. Mm, I've done so on many occasions and when no evidence has come to show they have no right being in X location - My character calls the guards, and because there is no IC representation of the guards they proceed to attack a Ul'dahn citizen in the middle of a tavern and everyone cheers them on because 'how dare she enforce the law'.
  16. One of my questions would be: How do we know that it is not a rumor and not people using their charcters to ooc harass other characters?
  17. One of my peeves which makes me ignore Ul'dah like the plague it can be is when people who roleplay outsiders to Eorzea - mainly Au ra recently and at times other human continent people and act as if they own the city and/or can ignore the city states laws. it is to my understanding that refugees are not allowed in the city sate and are held out the gates. So, why are so many people within the city when they clearly aren't citizens. When my character is in the city it is to hand in a leve quest in the city and then quickly GTFO before the brass blade throw her out. I know, I know - it is the hangout spot, everyone loves a bar. But we aren't the hero of light, most of us aren't actual adventurers and -many- people fail to remember in (was it 2.2 or 2.3) that Domans were thrown out of the city and were only given a home in Mor Dhona. To ad to this - it would be really nice for people to.. perhaps play along to those who are Ul'dahn. When an Ul'dahn asks how you got into the city or asks if you're a adventurer and you say no - with no legitimate reason for being in the city, don't blow up at them for wanting to enforce their own city-states laws. Laws are important.
  18. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=8957=lastpost We have this thread if you want to continue to try and make characters on balmung. Keep an eye on it.
  19. I doubt we'll be running unless we find a non-DRK tank and a WHM or AST. >
  20. I'd recommend looking at wtfast if you have high ping
  21. My er, Lalafell, called one a voidsent and tried to slay it on sight. That.. went as well as one can expect.
  22. Do you mean ICly or OOcly? IC. So, say one person acts overly aggressive towards another, and that second person initiates a strike because she was aggrivated and harrassed IC for an hour. Then that first person refuses to accept any consequence of pissing off another adventurer.
