  1. Like I always say: Pessimists go into something with one expectation: To be proven wrong.
  2. Of course there might be involvement. But I ask you: how many times has there been an attack by foreign powers on Canadian soil? How many people are gunning for the destruction of Canada of all places? I struggle to think of any. I mean, for God's sake, when Prime Minister Harper cut funding to things like Veteran's benefits to fuel a panicked desire to weed out Terrorist activity in Canada, the primary criticism of it was that there was no activity to begin with. Nobody wants to blow up Canada.
  3. I guess now would be a good time to ask if anyone wants to hang out in Canada?
  4. Ahhhhhhhhh! Everyone I know has babies, dammit. ;w;
  5. Edgar would be off doing his own thing, living by himself. He'd make friends every now and then, and if they were especially kind, he'd resolve to keep them around, but for the mostpart, he'd contribute very little to the outside world, and mainly keep to himself while building up a stockpile of literature.
  6. How does a single thread defy my expectations twice in a row?
  7. Tend to agree with this. If throwing enough feelings at it and tossing flowers into the barrels of guns was gonna work then war would have been done away with in the 60's. That isn't to say, civil disobedience is pointless; it isn't. But, it's going to take more than that.
  8. Condescending opening statement aside. Understand, Lia, I'm not really disagreeing with your argument on a fundamental level. I'm saying there's more to it than that, that history supports there being more to it than that, and that Sylentmana isn't wrong for thinking that with evidence to support it.
  9. I think it's a bit silky to assume you know that these people don't "recognize" each other as humans. People recognize each other as humans and kill each other in close personal ways all the time. I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with Turkey or Russia failing to recognize their mutual humanity, and everything to do with Russia wanting to be the big guy on the street and Turkey being pissed that Russia has been bombing ethnic Turks on the border between Syria and Turkey. Of course, I could be totally wrong. When, in the history of conflict, have we ever lent ourselves to treating our foes like human beings? We treated them like targets ready to pump full of bullets. It's not "silky" of anyone to assume this, because if you look in your history books, or hell, do a quick search on google, you'll see that dehumanization and military conflicts go hand in hand. You need to see some of this shit. WWII alone has enough embedded prejudice to support my argument a thousand times over.
  10. I remember, back in the day, when we could discuss potentially volatile subjects like rational individuals, without everyone jumping down each other's throats.
  11. Candle is a magnificent giraffe, and arguably one of my favorite users on the server. The inside jokes between us here and there may not be frequent, but they make my day every time.
  12. I have never had these kinds of issues! Kage, why is the game so clearly mad at you?!
  13. Templates? I can help you template-ize most existing wikis, provided the creator of said template are OK with it. If you could make a template out of my profile for her, I'd appreciate it. It's got enough editing that she could make something out of it.
  14. If you click on it in the OP, it will enlarge the image. It actually doesn't, not with the forum system as it is. The image system scrolls into what Virella provided. It works just fine for me.
  15. I wholeheartedly agree. I know that there's always a chance that what we perceive as shit is just that, shit, but for the most part, I give people as much time as possible before I draw any sort of conclusion. There is nothing wrong with keeping an open mind. There is no reason, or rather, no good reason why you cannot, and you have next-to-nothing to lose in the process of doing so.
  16. Congratulations, you've now seen the movie without the unnecessary padding and chased romance subplot that will be present in the actual theatrical release.
