  1. My Keeper John isn't an Adder but he's training a little in CNJ and also taking the time to see if he can find any of his family as well, (which is kind of hard since he doesn't know his Keeper Name). I should be on a little later today (working on another character story at the moment) if you want to PM him to set up a chance meeting.
  2. Depending on how long the event last and how fast I can get into game. John can be on standby for any after event healing that might need to take place. Or an ear for Chachan to talk too once the dust settles.
  3. If you can give me to Wed and see if I get lucky with Sunday off (won't make any promise until then because that's when the next week schedule is posted), I'll speed level John through CNJ for Satasha. Or if nothing else, Kest could somehow get rope in on Satasha for MRD. Cross your fingers everyone. Updating: Yeah, just check my schedule. Don't get off until 6:30 pm Sunday. Sorry I couldn't help you out Chachan.
  4. It was fun. Wish I could have gotten there for the per-party stuff. Kest even got enough of a buzz to start flirting with Nathan near the end of the shot contest. Unfortunately issues with my sister running me out of the bed room and then my own RL shyness showing through kept me from getting more RP in with her. Oh well, there's another shot contest around the corner so hopefully I'll get some good RP in on her then.
  5. John lean on Safire, staring at the stone, memories of a couple of nights ago now blurr in exhaustion. It had started so well, from him telling them about the new baby, that the argument between Kage and Judge about if the latter was loud or not. Yet, there was a tension in Warren's aether... Brianna's as well. He at first thought it was because only Oak and he were the only healers. Everyone was becoming on edge, Warren most of all when some of the fights seem to drag on. Two of the fighters near the end, a head blow, and so much blood. As he started to try to heal the other, he realize that the healing was going slow, even with Kit's help. Then the female started begging the other to wake up and he realize that he was fight Thal for two lives. If he die, Warren would have killed her as well. He couldn't let Warren kill, not while his strongest supporters were gone to war. So he did the only thing he could think of at the time. He pull on Kit's aether, combine it with his own, and pour all of it into the other. For that one moment, everything fade to nothing but the vibration of his aether pour into the wounded man. When John came back to himself, he found himself leaning heavily against a blurry Kage with a blurry Warren next to him. He had been happy because Warren didn't have to kill. It was only after the last match was fought that he found out what the tension had truly been about. Lady Brianna, another of Warren's friends was marching North...to face her own death. So he had Judge to take him too her. He had told her his goodbye, kissed her forehead, and told her to be a throne in Thal's side and to let his sister know that he was ok. Warren had asked him to drink with them but he didn't want bother them more, it was Brianna's farewell, and he wasn't sure if he could hold Kit's ball form much longer anyway. At least he made it into the inn room before darkness closed in on him. A rough hand close on his shoulder. "Bandit says you're not in any condition to ride that bird of your." He turn his head to find a Hellguard standing behind him. "So orders are that you're riding on the Wagon with him." "but..." John began to protest, only to be scoop up into the other's arm. "Sorry, Kid, but Bandit is head healer now and his word goes." Axe made his way to the wagon, dumping John onto the bench. "Glad to see you finally join us, Kid," the lalafell, Bandit said. "Told Cap that the best thing for you was sleep. So close those pretty eyes of yours and get some sleep. It'll be a few hours before we reach Eastern Thanalan." John look up to see Sam taking his place at the head of the group. His eyes drifted back over to the Grindstone as they began to head out. Lady Brianna, I hope that Thaliak's wisdom guide you on the finally leg of your life journey. I can only hope that I will have the fierceness and determination when I face that last path for myself as well. That I will not go quietly into the night as I know you will not. He turn away from the stone, letting his eyes drift close, and sleep take him. I can only hope that when I finally arrive at Thal's table that you and sister will be there to greet me. That you will regale me with the chaos that you cause since your arrival, Lady Brianna. Until then, please watch over us all.
  6. John's ears twitched as mother and child rest. Au Ra... that was what her people were called, after the chaos of child birth was over. His ears tilt as he heard her husband speaking with his mother. It would be a few days before mother and child would be ready to leave. By then her hyur husband would have the spell place back on his wife so they could finish their journey to Mor Dhona. "You can hold her, if you wish, Waterstrike-san," she murmur, giving the miqo'te a tired smile. He shook his head. "Oh, no. I would probably drop her." He bow to her. "I'm sorry for Mimi's reaction." She gave another smile, eyes sad as they glance over to the Lalafell, clinging to his mother robe. "We are different so her reaction is understandable, Waterstrike-san." "It still wasn't right for her to react as such." He pull the sheet up. "Rest and recover. It will be a long journey before you three reach the Toll." He smile as she drifted off to sleep. Giving a bow to the pair, he made his way out off the room. He still had a letter to reply too and a very nice opening for it. Sitting back down at the table he put quill to paper. I'm sorry I could not write back sooner... "Are you in love, Master Waterstrike?" Mimi asked from his side. Stopping for a second on the letter to Howl, he look down at Mimi. "No," he said, shaking his head. "Not in the way that you mean. I care very much of all of them, Howl most of all, because they have been kind to me." "You have been so happy I thought that..." "I'm happy because I don't feel so alone anymore." He gave a quiet chuckle. "You weren't the only one to ask me that question." He rub the top of her head. "See if Mom needs you for anything." He watch her head out of the door before turning back to the letter. "Any even if it is love, Howl already has someone else that could love him far better then I could," he whisper, ignoring the ache in his heart, and remembering Warren's words about Howl getting marry himself, several weeks ago.
  7. Even through John doesn't know Chachan that well, he would be willing to help out. Only problem is that Sunday is usually one of my main (aka long) work days, so I wouldn't be able to do it. Wish I could help out though.
  8. John sigh as he move his head, allowing his mom to tie the wet cloth around his neck. "Mom, I'm fine. It was just a little heat exhaustion," he said. He grimace as Kit's tail smack against his leg. "Not you too, Kit." "There is nothing little about heat exhaustion," his mother said, brushing graying black hair back from her face. "You're the six person to come in today because of the heat. What if it had come heat stroke before you realize what was happening?" "I'm sorry, mom," he said, settling back against the pillows. "I realize what was happening when the headache started." He smile as a Mimi came into the room, tray of cut fruit and juice in her hand. "Thank you, Mimi." "You had us worried, Master Waterstrike." She sat the tray on the table beside the bed before climb onto a chair next to her teacher. "Mistress Waterstrike, the midlander is finally asleep. Her husband is keeping watch on her right now but..." "I'll go and check on her, especially with her being so close to delivery." Margret stood up, taking her staff in hand. Before she could head out of the room, there is a flutter of wings and a postmoogle flies into the room. "Hello, what can I do for you?" "Oh, no, no, kupo. I've been seen and the Deputy Postmoogle will have my satchel for sure, kupo." The moogle seem to sink low to the ground. The female lalafell giggle only to choke back at John's look. "That is rude, Mimi." He turn and took one of the cups of juice, holding it out to the moogle. "Here, it has been hot today and you must be tired from your travel." The moogle to the cup in his hands, "Thank you, kupo. You are so kind, kupo." "I'll leave you three," Margret said, leaving the small group in the room. She did have other patients that she hand to check on. "Were you looking for someone?" Mimi asked. "Ah, yes. I have a letter for John Waterstrike," the postmoogle said. He flutter over as John held out his hand, letting the letter drop into his hand. "Another successful delivery made, kupo." "Thank you very much," John said. "May the rest of you deliveries be just as successful." He watch the postmoogle flutter out of the room before turning his attention back to the letter in his hand. Kit also crawl into his lap, sniffing at the letter in John's hand. Her paw push at the glove hand tracing over the name on the letter. "You never get letter, Master Waterstrike," Mimi said. "Who would be writing to you?" She look up, her hand cover her mouth at the look on John's face. His eyes seem to glow in a way that she hadn't seen in the miqo'te. Was her Master's son in love. "Howl," he whisper, tracing the other's name. He felt a warmth in his chest before reach over to the small knife to cut the envelope open. He remove the letter, opening it carefully. "He and Sei at safely at Coerthas," he mumurred. He felt his heart hurt for both his friends, especially at the mention of casualties. "I heard rumors," he whisper, "but I didn't realize if was this bad.. He want to go up there now, to help those that had been hurt, but he couldn't. With Blackjack now in the hands of the Flames after he was found out to be under the monetist thumb, Sam was eager to start back up the units' patrol. Kit rub against his glove hand and he began to pet her just as Howl asked at the end of the letter. "Master Waterstrike?" "Mimi, could you leave me alone for a little while," John said, folding the letter up. "I need to see about writing a reply. He watch her small hand pat his glove one before she hop down and left the room. He waited a moment before crawling out of bed, taking the chair that Mimi had been in a moment before. Kit jump over onto the small table, snatching a piece of fruit from the bowl as she watch her partner pull out paper, ink, and quill. Before he could set quill to paper as scream of pain sounded from several rooms down. It wasn't his mother, but her voice follow not long after. "JOHN, I NEED YOU IN HERE NOW!" John came to his feet, quickly shoving Howl's letter into the inside pocket of his jacket. He ran out of his room, down the hall, throwing himself into the room just as something shimmer and shatter around the midlander woman to reveal...horns, scales, a dragon like tail...Mimi crying out monster and the look of shock on his mother's face. The 'woman's' husband looking like he might attack them only to be drawn back to the female on the table as she cried out in pain again. His mother push the shock aside, gathering towels. "John, try to ease her pain. The baby is coming now, whether we're ready for it or not."
  9. Yea, I'll be able to make it. Get off at 7:30 next Friday, so Kestlona will be there. Let's see how drunk I can get her before she starts 'chatting' up the guys.
  10. John did some drinking once, enough to give him funny sicky buzz but not enough to be drunk. He had a killer hangover (mostly from his dad teaching him a lesson). Now it seems like every time beer is place in front of him, it never get touch. First time was in game when he and Berrod were talking (if was left untouch on the table after what happen with the Female Roe attacking Berry). The other time was John passing the beer to Doc during the forum RP. I really need to fix that with him. I see it as a 180 with John. He's the proper Royalist, calling everyone Sir, Lady, and Madam. And his postcognitive ability, he keeps a lot of people at arms length. Pretty much when he finally get 'drunk' the Keeper is going to be let out of the bag. He going to want to cuddle, be petted, and to kiss, doesn't matter if it's guy or gal. Wouldn't surprise me if he ended up between the sheets with someone, depending on how drunk he really gets. Kestlona hasn't given me too much on what kind of drunk she could be except that it's leaning more to a happy drunk when others are happy. Ready to fight drunk if there is anger in the group she's with. The more she drinks, the more she starts coming onto the guys. I'll probably see more to her during the Bacchus shots competition next Friday, if she doesn't get drunk at Clio's party.
  11. Well, shit. Looks like I'm going to miss the event. I was schedule for 9:30 am to 5:45 pm. I'll probably have to drop Kestlona at the event site after Clio's party Friday night. That way I hope to at least catch the very end of it (if the queue isn't too long).
  12. Kestlona pull the Chocobo to a stop at Camp Dragonhead, bowing her head as in silent pray. So much heartache that seem to be hanging about the area. The dragons have really done a number to the whole place. Her eyes search the area, finally spotting Alex’s feather head band. “Al…” she called out, dismounting off of the borrow bird. She watch Alex trot over to her, movement tired from whatever battle he had been in that day. “I got the supplies you were asking for,” she said, waiting for several others to come over and unload the cart. “Lona, you’re a gods sent,” he said, hoping into the cart to start passing down potion, food, clothing, and other supplies. Alex frown as Kestlona kept her back to him. She work on a second pouch strap to the chocobo, until the little black chick was free. “Lona, what’s wrong.” “I need to speak with you…in private once this is done.” She turn to look at Alex, hurt showing in her eyes. Something in his stomach tighten at the look she was giving him. **** It was several bells later when the pair enter into the small room. “Let me stoke the fire.” Alex move over to the fireplace, using the metal rod to shift the logs before adding on more logs. “You didn’t have any trouble on the way up here?” he asked. There was no answer from the seawolf. “Lona, did something…” “Why did you lie to me, Alex?” Alex spun around, staring at Kestlona. “I don’t know… “Everything you were teaching me…everything was to make me into a spy…” She was in a fury, he could tell that much. Probably stewing on it the entire way here. “You’re not a spy.” “Try again, Turner. Because my Captain begs to differ on that statement.” Alex own temper flare to life. “You’re not… not in the way that I wanted you to be.” His fist smashed into the wall, cracks breaking outwards from the site. “Damn Oschon and his own path.” He pull his fist back. “I realize two years ago that Rhalgr and the other gods turn their backs on us. Ala Mhigo is gone, torn apart from the inside, and kill by Garlean Empire from the outside.” He turn his back to her. “I have no will left to keep fighting.” “I don’t believe you. The Alex I know,” she said, coming up behind him, “would have killed anyone that claim not to have the will to fight.” A bitter laugh came from him. “Two years is long enough to change even the strongest of men.” He moved over to the fireplace, kneeling down. “Go back to your home, Kestlona…” he said, ‘and leave those of us with no will to die as we should,’ he added in his thoughts. He listen to the footsteps move away from the fire, frowning as a chair scrap against stone. “Kest…” he began, turning to find the seawolf staring at him withdetermination. “I’m here for the week,” she said. “If you don’t have to will to fight anymore, then I’ll be your will.” She lean forward, pointing at herself. “Teach me your ways, Alex. Teach me how to be a Monk of Rhalgr, so I can show you that there is a reason to fight.” Alex open his mouth, probably to protest but she wouldn’t let him try and talk her out of this. “You have been my teacher in everything else, please be my teacher again.” Alex stood up, moving away from the fireplace and heading tothe door. He stop at the door, “There isnothing that I can do to make you head home.” He listen to the chair scrap again as Kestlona stood up. “Then for one week, I will be your teacher again. If you are not able to open the root chakraby then, you will head home and forget about me.” Kestlona watch him walk out the door, eyes narrowing. She had a week to open her Chakra, whatever that was, and prove that she could follow in his footsteps. “I’ll show you, Alex,” she whisper, unnoticed by her there was a flicker about her…almost a red color halo. “I’ll show you my will to fight is strong. Even stronger then yours."
  13. Hey, Berry. John found some of your written pieces on Chakra. Since he has been researching aether, don't be too surprise if he comes to you as well to discuss the difference between opening chakra and just using aether.
  14. The sun beam down warm on the miqo'te, which caused a tired yawn to escape from him. He reach for the canister of water that he had gotten at the barracks. It has been days now since this last Grindstone yet John still felt as if he hadn't been able to recover his strength. He probably should be resting but...he had come across some writing by Sir Berrod and he really wanted to understand what the older man had written here. It seem that his tiredness was making the lines of words blur together. He allow his attention to be draw down to the ruins not far from Coffins. He reach up pinching the bridge of his nose. His mind was too occupy it seem with thoughts and exhaustion. He manage to catch Warren after the Grindstone, and getting Judge to drive off 'those' summons that had started chasing him. "Those things were just wrong," he mutter to himself, a yawn escaping from him, before taking another sip of water. Warren confirm that Sei and Howl had safely left for the North. Warren also agree to allow him to join them...it the dragon wasn't dead. He also burn the picture of the dragon/highlander, though it unnerve him when the eyes were the last to burn. John shook his head, fighting back another yawn, "No, no. Not going to think about the creature anymore." His mind switch over to the Grindstone, especially Sir Aaron's fights. Something had happen to the other man, something in the fight that shook him to the core, and that had him worried as well. In truth, he didn't know many of the other fighters, his ears lowering as he realize this. In many cases, he was having to do a quick heal to the winner and try to get the loser heal before they took off. It still needle at him that they wouldn't allow him or any of the other healer to check them out. He ignore the little voice that chime in that he had done the same thing several weeks ago. He should see if he could fine Aaron, check on the older...man. John yawn again, wondering why he seem so tired. He should probably go back to Ul'dah...see if he could find...Aaron. He whistle, grabbing hold of the reins and pulling himself on to Safire. He just hope that he could make it back before the darkness at the edge of his vision closed in on him.
  15. I'm still hoping that I get this Saturday off. Still waiting for the next week schedule to be posted. Cross your fingers everyone and say a little pray to the Twelve, just in case.
  16. Kestlona doesn't really have any special powers. Most of her training came from her Pa with daggers and with her fist from her teacher Alex. Limsa being a seaport also let me play around with different accents and learning another language directed her into trying to understand the Beast Tribes own spoken language. Alex just used those raw talents to start her training as a spy. John is highly aether sensitive, sensing it through his finger. He so sensitive that it has made him postcognitive, but terrified of using it because he views it as a curse since he can't shut if off and has to wear gloves to keep from being overwhelm by the past. He's also train in aetheric healing, with his carbuncle, Kit help with the worst injures that happen at the Grindstone.
  17. Sam glance over as he sees Doc Oak speaking quietly into his linkpearl. He turn to their group, murmuring a quiet, "I have to go." He nodded to the Doctor before turn his attention back to his 'Little brother'. He began to get a look of confusion when Warren started speaking. 'Eye,' he thought. What in the heck were they talking about and why did he feel that John was about to get in way over his head. "I know," John said, hands clutching into fist. "Howl told me...some of what he and Lady Sei went through on the mountain." He look up at Warren, "I hate their master for what 'he' did to them...to all of them." He just hope that Howl was right and that Warren did kill him. Warren was still doing research? He also seen that Howl or Sei had not run away from what was done to them. Yet they all reach out to him when he knew he didn't deserve it. Still if he left now, then he would hurt them...and himself. Sam watch the emotion play across the miqo'te's face before it settle on a look of determination. He turn rolled his eyes as John stood up, only to kneel next to Warren. "Gods, you have to go Royalist?" John ignore Sam, wanting to give proper and formal apologizes to Warren. He bow his head and place a hand over his heart, as he knelt next to Warren. "I have been both a Fool and a Coward, letting my curse blind me to the hands that have been held out to me in friendship. I do not know if I can truly make up for the concern and worry that I have brought on you and your own." He didn't dare look up at Warren's face, still afraid of what he might fine. "Let me try to make amends. I...I will inform Howl on why I fled from him the other day. What ever else that you might need of me, I will do so." John could feel his heart pounding in his ears, sure that if the answer was 'No," to this question, his heart would shatter. "If these terms are acceptable, then all I ask is that I may continue as one of your healers at the Grindstone?"
  18. And once again John almost forgot to bring his camera out to get pictures. Anyway, one screenshot was taken tonight. A picture of three of the overseers. Warren, Bri, and Judge. Off to the side was the fight that would determine who would face Aaron. Aaron to John's right, who was starting to worry for his friend. Yes, John actually yell at Aaron, trying to snap his friend out of the bloodlust that had fallen over him during the last fight.
  19. Well, Kestlona's teacher, Alex is going to start her training but she's going to need someone to continue her training. Berrod, feel up to taking on a part time student?
  20. So, after all this time, I finally decide to do the two NPC that I've been using in my RP. Alex Turner, Kestlona's teacher and ex-Fist. He turn his back on Rhalgr when he left the field of battle, knowing that the Fist would lose the fight against the empire. Left Limsa before he could complete Kestlona's training as a spy against the empire when a fellow Fist show up in Limsa. Now fighting up North in the Dragonsong War. Samuel "Sam" Robinton, Kestlona's CO until she was transfer to Red Wings and now John's CO. Also was to be married to John's sister until her untimely death. In charge of "Dagger" Unit and retired Sultansworn.
  21. I like the backstory so far for Aven. I'm interest when if happen for my miqo'te healer John Waterstrike and my monk Seawolf Kestlona Guhtgeiswyn to meet him. Their wiki are in my sig if you want to look over them to see if Aven might become friends with either of them.
  22. John will 'also' be there though he won't approach Janis until after the event is over. He also probably going to apologizes for not coming to tell her how wonderful the Celebration of the Scholar was still under the influence of the stomach bug that he had been suffering with at the time the event took place.
  23. Well, I have a male healer miqo'te that was raise in a Hyuran family. He's also as a good at sensing aether and is postcognitive because of it, since aether can carry those types of pattern. He wears gloves so he doesn't see an object or person past. He might sense that their is something different about the aether around her but other then that, nothing else. John is bi himself and he's a good listener but won't push someone if they truly don't wish to talk. Kestlona is my female seawolf and tries to be friendly with everyone. Through she's not bi or gay herself, she is one to offer comfort in that way, if the person needs it.
  24. Kestlona should be able to make it to this one since Lisma is her home. She could probably visit her family, (her dad sending her to the Dutiful(sp?) Sister) before heading to the event.
