  1. That is a partial form of roleplay that I am involved in. Well, more power to you, but you might have better luck just walking around the quicksand. While ERP isn't taboo on these forums, most people tend to view it like cookies and ice cream. A sometimes food. You're welcome to rp what you like, but i doubt you'll make too many erp connections on here.
  2. Can I ask why you feel it necessary to indicate the Erotic part? There are FC's based around casual ERP, but I don't think any of them advertise on here. I don't have anything against it, but it does seem a rather narrow focus.
  3. One exists because someone, somewhere was hurting really badly and someone else wanted to make them feel better. The other one exists because someone, somewhere saw some other guy and thought, "I want to set him on fire." Well I mean, yeah. But using it to blow someone up doesn't mean you're corrupting it. Lots of inventions are made for good purposes and get used for harm. People used fire to cook meat, then they discovered you could burn orphanages with it. Same thing.
  4. Both would be fairly equally damaging (to the land, since I believe it's still less damaging to actual people than Flare is, iirc - but I think I mentioned to you a while back that Holy being a level 45 spell is just kinda weird given the way it's treated in other games). It just contradicts in-game lore that Succor isn't supposed to be used as a weapon at all. Like I said, white magic has a better marketing department. I mean come on, who expects the name 'Black Magic' to make people comfortable.
  5. I always thought succor was basically the same as black magic. They both pull aether from the land to do stuff, one just has better marketing. A holy can kill you the same as a flare.
  6. Relax, you'll do fine. How could you possibly fuck it up, anyroad? Well how long do you have? You might want to get a chair and a drink because this could be a long list.
  7. My Insecurity is the new FC i'm starting. I hope I don't fuck it up agaaaaaiinnnnn. Arghghghgh!
  8. Nice! Welcome to the Forums and Balmung. It's a real pain to get onto this server, but for me at least it's definitely worth it!
  9. Unless you're a plant. Cross breed plants are lore approved. I plant chives with glazenuts to make peppers. Does that mean a roegadyn and an elezen make a miqo'te? Sure why not.
  10. ? The event is on Thursday, not Wednesday. I am a dumb.

  12. There is maintenance tomorrow at 9 PST. I'm actually going to need to either show up a little late or withdraw, as I don't get off work until 5 PST, and would need 15 minutes or so to make it home.
  13. So your character is a new mount? Do we get to ride you, then? >> If you play your cards right
  14. I agree with everything you've said here. The realest challenge is trying to convince people that you're going to do the story justice, instead of doing what the strawmen and other contemporaries have done with the thing, which is usually "I thought it would be cool, but it has zero narrative impact on my character, I just thought being a half-vampire would be AWESOME." I mean. That's ok, isn't it? A player isn't under any obligation to do a concept justice, or prove themselves to anyone. If they want to be a half vampire because it's cool, more power to them. They might have their own group of half unicorn/vampire/demon friends they RP with, and dats fine. Obviously there are a lot of special and unique things in the game that we just haven't been shown yet. Vampires or half dragons or whatever are kind of silly, but If it works for you, then go wild. There's nothing wrong with it all all. Until it turns out that the person playing that half-whatever character is having trouble finding like-minded peers to RP with. Instead, they'll blame the game or the general community for not accepting their character. Situations like what I just wrote above happen way too often. And then people usually start looking for someone to blame because it's easier than owning up to a weird concept. It goes back to finding RP vs waiting for RP. To some degree, everyone has their limit of what they'll accept in the game and it doesn't always mesh. True that! It goes both ways, like you said. (heh, both ways) I think sometimes this Forum gets a bad rap for being intolerant of anyone who doesn't strictly follow lore. Which is true to an extent. But coming on and complaining that people won't accept your character is equally annoying. I've seen a lot of both on this site. I think a good rule for people is~ The more unique or lore breaking your character, the more people will have problems with it. Don't make a character outside of the lore unless you're prepared to deal with that fact. If you are, then go hog wild.
  15. By the way my new character concept is half dragon, half chocobo, all attitude. Please look forward to it.

  17. One thing to mention is that it doesn't have to be 50/50. Evangeline is short and has stubby ears for an Elezen, there might be a Hyur somewhere back in her history. A tall Highlander might have some Roe in them (-wink-) or a short Miqo'te some lalafell. After a few generations you likely wouldn't be able to tell.
  18. R'elend notices the growing crowd in annoyance. "Fucking shite. Can't drink in peace, can't even 'ave a fucking fight in peace." He briefly considered hitting the woman before the crowd finished gathering, but some of the onlookers seemed to know the great ugly beast. Maybe she'd pulled a cart for them before. Either way, that would go against one of the holiest of holy Brass Blade rules. Bring more of your mates then they bring of theirs. Else you'd be the one on the ground getting kicked at the end of the fight. He is already looking for a gap in the crowd when the woman lurches forward with an uppercut. The Blade steps backwards a few paces, sliding past some yapping pototo who had also arrived on the scene. He felt the air move his hair from the near miss, fuck she was strong. Hideous, but strong, at least the gods gave her something. He spits at her feet and moves to leave crowd, "You're lucky I don't feel like cleaning blood off my gauntlets." He gestures to the crowd, "You've got some mates, suprised me a bit. Didn't expect an audience." His voice is an annoyed grumble at a fun fight interrupted, "Suppose ugly fucks always get some pity. If they don't confuse ya for a Leve target 'irst." R'elend pushes through the crowd unless stopped by someone.
  19. What's the point of having an FC if you can't make fancy outfits?
