We are in the midst of a major lore review now – gathering as much Maelstrom/Vylbrand related lore as we can so that we can compile it all in one place. So, if you've got any lore resources for me, I would gladly take them! Other than that, we're just planning out our first few events and looking out for a Medium house in the Mist!

ICly, the Maelstrom’s 1st Squadron, 9th Levy (AKA Mist 1-9, led by Storm Commander Sylbfohc Ostulmsyn) has been tasked with building the Grand Company’s first war airship. Having an airship outfitted for battle would mean that the Maelstrom could police the skies, following illegal skypirate outfits upward as well as keeping a more effective watch for Garlean approach. It would also greatly improve the Maelstrom’s reaction time to realm-wide threats, and as the keepers of the first airborne war ship, Mist 1-9 will become the Maelstrom’s first responders, able to reach crises that ground and sea Units wouldn’t be able to reach in time. And, with threats rising toward the East, skyward mobility couldn’t come at a better time... In order to achieve this engineering feat, however, Maelstrom’s Mist 1-9 will require aid from the brightest minds and most dependable hands that the realm has to offer. Will you aid the cause? 'Til sea swallow all!

What a fantastic idea for a thread! Now that I know it's here I'll be a regular poster! I've only been active in the RP community for a few months now and I've already got more kudos than I can dish out at once. So, I'll just start with a few! The big guys & gals in the Broken Chairs LS — my very first active contact with the greater RP community in FFxiv! You people are great: so friendly, supportive, inclusive, and hilarious. I've loved the daily OOC chatter and support! The roes of the Broken Chairs LS truly feel like a merry band of friends no matter what FC they/we belong to. I love it! Brave Horizon — for making me feel welcome ICly and OOCly when I showed up to my first greater RPC event on Moengeim (Bacchus shots at the Wanderer's Lantern some time ago). Starting out in a new RP community can be a little nerve-wracking — even for shameless extroverts like me! So, I really appreciate that. Reshie — for being the first to give me some forum love for my art. Again, making a newbie who hardly knows anyone in the RPC community feel welcomed! Ceana Clarke & Rinn Sterling — for investing in the personal story of my big guy, Sylbfohc, early on. And, for artfully dangling hooks from their individual personal storylines for me to take hold of as well. The mutual laying down of narrative breadcrumbs to follow. AGAIN, has made me feel welcome in a new RP community. :3 That's where I'll leave it for now!

I've heard that some people have the best luck getting a a new character into Balmung right after maintenance ends early Tuesday mornings. You might try your luck then. I hope you end up where you want to be in game! Welcome to the RPC.
