1. I feel like I haven't helped ya out in a while so perhaps this link may help ya out Kiht http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Materia_%28Final_Fantasy_XIV%29
2. I didn't make any exact analogues, I just made some things which could be easily taken as Far Eastern but could also be taken for something else in case SE does mash things up. Archers, barbarians and soldiers are seen in many cultures while many also have some sort of spirituality based around shamans or wise men so they aren't strictly Asian. Here is the page for the old event. "rare garments from the mystic East" http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com/pl/topics/detail?id=f1e0c5ab8d437893a430ee46bc756a4cf0297b4b
3. Sorry about the double-post. With the announcement of this year's Moonfire Faire, we are getting yukatas like we asked! http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/special/2014/Moonfire_Faire/
4. *doesn't mean to necropost* I'm making a Doman that I want to play as like a warrior-miko. I had the plan of being the twin-sister to a friend's char but shes still undecided on if shes making the char so I'm going to have to assume no. I also made this thread a while back which might be helpful. http://ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=7055
5. I wonder how many people will be collecting the yukatas for rping as a Doman....
6. Fox? Gray Fox? Fox Hound? Metal Gear? METAL GEAR! SNAAAAKEEE!
7. I just beat it too and I'm trying not to freak. This has the potential to involve us.

People sometimes spread too much on the snakes and get the divebomb, also Ive been in groups which lack a magic lb and once we wipe everyone leaves. Another issue ive seen is DPS killing the small snakes too early or getting the damage up debuff. Surprisingly it hasn't seemed to have been my fault yet.

I've watched a couple videos and made it as far as the second divebomb phase with pug groups but at that point everything typically goes to hell and the tanks and healers abandon.
10. That's an elezen hairstyle! WE ARE LETTING YOU BORROW IT, BE GRATEFUL <3 Elezen Master-Fashion.
11. Oh give me a home where the chocobos roam, where the Knights and the Dravanians play. Where seldom is heard a heretical word, and the skies are not snowy all day...
12. You know I'm up for helping out and you always know where to find me.

I shall be keeping an eye on this as I need help with clearing as well on my i90 MNK.
14. Hmm interesting. I don't really intend on raiding past T5 on my MNK as I main a SCH, however MNK is so much fun I MAY change my mind.
15. Took me 45 clears to see the Allag fists drop. About 15 of those were pre-2.2 when it was still one week per clear. Going on nine weeks in coil 2 and I haven't seen my high allag body, gloves, or boots yet, either. :< RNG can die in a fire. Wow that's more successful runs of that than I can fathom... but yeah I wouldn't mind talking to you, my monk is Aurelia Domna. I hope the RNG gods are fair to me...
16. Hmmm ok cool. Some of this I knew and some I didn't but its good to see it regardless. Hmm I suppose the best I can do is keep trying and hope to get lucky if I can't find anyone in need of a MNK.
17. Hello! I decided to give MNK a shot since you rarely see it endgame and was curious about the hate it gets. Well now I'm an i90 MNK and must say that I understand what makes them difficult: you NEED to be able to dodge a wrench if you are ever going to dodge a ball. Hate aside though, I was wondering if anyone had any tips for successful monking that I haven't heard of already. I've been looking at macros and have been getting better at dodging but I also am curious about which cross-class skills I should rush for. I currently have invigorate and fracture and am working for mercy stroke. I also would like some help with Turn 5 if at all possible, I have beaten Turns 1 through 4 and am functioning under the impression that having people who know what they are doing and how to work together is vital for success. I have watched videos of it several times and have personally gotten as far as the snakes but we didn't have a magic LB and died. I have been watching PF for almost a week and haven't seen any groups that would be willing to take on a learning monk... or any monk at all since MNK and DRG are excluded from PF requirements a lot >.> My current raiding setup is: Sphairai Zenith Allagan Visor of Striking Melee Cyclas Allagan Gauntlets of Striking Hero's Belt of Striking Weathered Gloam Brias Melee Boots Allagan Choker of Striking Hero's Earrings of Slaying Hero's Bracelet of Slaying Hero's Ring of Slaying Allagan Ring of Striking Stats can be found here http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/7677797/ Really I'm wanting to do T5 for the Allagan Cuirass Of Striking to complete the set for RP purposes so even IF I get the top and not the weapon I would be fine and could try again at a later time for the weapon if need be. Thank you in advance!
18. After his banemite rodeo, the now bruised and battered Byron stood up and coughed. "By Halone's bloody fury... is it over?" Looking around he saw the smouldering corpse of the treant and no sign of the Lalafell mage, either he died or fled which made no difference to the young man. He walked over to yank his halberd out of the now dead banemite and frowned at all the bug juice now covering it. “BYROOOOOOON!” Came Kiht's voice from not too far away. "COMING!" He shouted back and made his way over to her as fast as possible. Now with a darkening sky Byron was concerned, had they wasted too much time? Finding Kiht on her knee he offered her a hand. "It look like we won."
19. If there is a Monk/Dragoon in my party and they actually dodge, kill stuff, and don't die a lot they get my commendation. Monk takes priority since a good monk should stand out to anyone.
20. Name: Mistdancer Clan. Families: Katti, Alnah, and Renalah. Location: Just north of Rootslake, uncomfortably close to Amdapor Keep. Sexual Mores: All three families share males with other clans, however contact reduction over the past several years has made this harder. Mates are taken voluntarily and are typically kept for life and multiple mates are semi-common. Both parents help raise the young and often the different families all help watch after and teach the growing young ones to help them find their star-charted place. The clan once looked down upon homosexuality and considered it childish foolishness, however their incident with the new Renalah family Matron Merri has began to soften their views; Family is family and everyone is to be valued and loved, regardless of what gender they take as a mate. Traditions: The Clan Matriarch is chosen from among the three Matron via a nighttime ritual making use of the positions of the stars in relation to the moon, each family has claim to one of three stars which move about the area of the moon and are told apart by their color. The Clan Matriarch typically leads as a guide, with the other two Matrons acting as advisers. When of age, each member of the clan is given a star reading by an astrologer of the Katti family which helps give them insight into their destined path, this insight is to be taken however the new adult wishes. Males tend to work closer to home and act as child-rearers, handymen and crafters while females can be anything they desire. Males have been in other roles in the past however this isn't a constant. As mentioned before, the Mistdancer Clan uses a form of astrology in making decisions and telling the passage of time. This art is kept by the Katti family. Clan history is kept alive by the Renalah family, however with a near vanished population this role might be taken up by another family. Also all Clan hunting and combat methods are cultivated and perfected by the Alnah family. Families Explored: The Alnah are known for being more feral than the Katti and Renalah families. They have helped gotten the Mistdance Clan in trouble with the authorities on more than one occasion. They are rowdy and blunt in their humor and they aren't afraid to stick an arrow into the group right in front of someone to scare them. The Alnah family is the more combat-oriented of the three families. Due to Calamity and discontent, about a quarter of the Alnah family left to join the Coeurlclaw Poachers. The Katti are the more reserved and mystic of the three families and the clan's current Matriarch, Zena, is of the Katti clan. The Katti watch the stars and speak to the land more than the other two families and are much more thoughtful in their actions. The Katti have stuck to tradition more so than many families have and have even began writing records of their dwindling culture before it vanishes. The Renalah family was kind and hardworking and were knowledgeable of hunting and herbology. They were skilled in crafts and merriment, although not in the disregarding fashion of the Alnah. Prior to being wiped out in the Calamity the Renalah family were in charge of clan festivals and aiding in keeping tradition alive via song and dance. A few may have also been taken by the Coeurlclaw Poachers.
21. Byron stood in utter surprise as the Treant roared to life and begin its persuit of the Lalafell caster. The Banemite next to him seemed to sleepily watch as well though it most likely lacked the capacity to appreciate the humor of a Lalafell being chased by a burning animate tree. Then the anger began to sit in and the Bane mite caught wind of Byron next to it and began to hiss and turn. Suddenly Byron became aware of the danger right next to him. "Oh for the love of Halone!" Byron drew his halberd and parried a strike from the banemite's tail before trying around the banemite to flank it as the infuriated banemite began spitting out shots of its web which also would cross paths with the Treant and Lalafell. Targeting the base of the tail, Byron impaled his halberd into a join in the tail's armor, causing the vilekin's green blood to ooze onto the ground. The tail then began to droop as the vilekin began loosing control of it and begin thrashing about. "Ooah damnit!" Retrieving his halberd, Byron then ran to a larger rock not far away with the thrashing banemite following soon after. Using what he had learned from seeing dragoons fight, Byron ran up on the rock and jumped off back at the charging banemite with his halberd pointed straight down. With a crunch and a screech, the banemite's head was ran-through by the blade at the top of Byron's halberd. Now in it's death throws the banemite began thrashing about like a bucking chocobo with Byron hanging on to his embedded halberd for dear life. The shaking proved to be too violent and Byron was chucked off to slam into the ground hard enough to knock the wind out of him and momentarily stun him. He coughed as he lay on the ground not far from a now still and dead banemite with a halberd lodged in its head. Hopefully Kiht was fairing better and the Lalafell was treant food.
22. Byron grimaced at the though of fighting a caster when he himself had little range to speak of, save throwing his halberd. However the Lalafell seemed to be a hothead from the looks of his assault on the tree they were current hiding behind... perhaps something that could be used against him. Looking around quickly Byron noticed the loose stones and the sleeping Banemite on the other side of the road. He however mistook the Treant as a normal, although oddly shaped, tree as the like was not seen in Coerthas. Banrmites slept soundly and Byron had no intention of waking it up, the overzealous mage though might be foolish enough to fling spells where Byron ran, including behind a Banemite. “Byron, please distract the Lalafell, I do not care how you do it. Just keep him busy as I go after the archer.” Byron nodded quickly. "Understood." Picking up a stone with a free hand, Byron launches himself out of his cover and hurls the rock at the mage yelling, "Oi! Come at me you midget!" Byron goes to run past the motionless Treant, using at as cover from an assault, and dives behind the sleeping Banemite. If all went well the mage would strike the things between them and draw the ire of the Banemite. Otherwise Byron mite have a new trouble on his hands.
